  • An updated recording of my transcription of this beautiful movement. From my UMKC Conservatory Faculty Recital on February 16, 2022. Compared to the original version from the Gilmore Young Artist concert, I tweaked some bass notes in the middle section build up.

Impressive in that it has the ability to re-create the feel of the orchestral version - full, rich and beautifully phrased! Gorgeous!!! I noticed that this was played a little faster than the version I heard from the Gilmore Piano Festival. I think I prefer the slightly slower speed, but not by much, but I do def like the additions in the base in the middle - more powerful and very impressive!

I really enjoyed this transcription for piano only. How about doing a transcription for piano only of Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto?
