@chuckcts-v3460 I grew up in Brooklyn in a poor part of town and well remember when the streets were lined with VW Beetles owned by working poor. All other cars were Cadillacs owned by drug dealers and welfare cheats.
I have driven and owned lots of cars in my long life, but my Beetle was my favorite. Built light but as sturdy as a tank, and can handle like a spider.
Back in ‘86 driving through central Mexico at night, locals tell you not to stop for anything at night, hit a frickin cow wandering the road but kept going got to next town and in the morning saw the damage to the area above the front wheel was dented in but the light still worked and never became an issue. Those Beetles didn’t disappoint.
This is awesome content. Nitro RX is definitely bringing some fun ideas (and, or course, the greatest racing announcer Andrew Coley) that the frankly tepid approach of World RX has not.
Cowboy Cerrone... Hall of Fame inside the MMA cage and rookie inside the roll cage. Who would ever imagine Cowboy would get beat by a woman? Respect to all the racers and fighters out there. Go Cowboy and Sara and Nitro Beatles!
This was awesome ! I had no idea that it was even a thing. You can bet your azz I'm now a fan. I loved my Beatle back in the day and want another one for a project.
Waouh so amazing race, so exciting, and so many surprises. We don't know that in France. SHAME. Little budget and great pleasure !!! Every things told.
Love watching this race. Although I find it kind of annoying that the announcers obviously have their favorite, and are only focused on him. Whatever. Muted, and had a blast watching. Bugs are so much fun.
Now THAT was some racing. No corporate bs ruining it ,just man and machine, the way it should be. Hehe, see the 2 guys slicing and dicing each other out front gave that other guy a chance to catch them and get 2nd. Depends on the mood and who it is but sometimes the 2 front guys will work together to try and run away from the pack and then deal with each other at the end. Strategy can be a fun part of racing too.
Ok, I want to race in this series! I had a beetle years ago, I still miss it. It's a bit odd, but the body styles aren't strictly speaking, Baja. I'm sure they are underneath though.
These cars are built according to SCORE Class 11 rules. The rules and Class 11 racing have been around since the mid 1970s. In the late 1970s, every race event would have about 30-50 cars in just this class. They race in short course offroad races like this, 250 mile desert races in SoCal, Nevada, Arizona and Baja. They race on the same race courses the Trophy Trucks have already torn up before the Class 11s get their turn. They have a basic roll cage, gutted interior. Still have stock pedals. Seats can be replaced, but must be in stock location. Suspension is mostly stock. Dash is mostly stock. Some use a stock exhaust. These days a 2 barrel Weber is allowed. Body is all stock as are bumpers. Skid plated underneath. Stiffer torsion bar springs. Front shocks have to mount to stock mounts. Rears can be a little longer than stock these days. All 4 shocks are typically Fox, King, Sway-A-Way or Bilstein. They are not "Baja Bugs" per se'. But aside from the cut bodywork and fiberglass fenders, etc., they race offroad in Baja. So they deserve the same respect. Underneath, they're the same thing as a mild Baja Bug.
Proof that you don’t need a thousand horsepower, an celebrity driver, and a million dollar budget for great racing! 👍🏻
I'd go sofar as to say all of those things usually prevent great racing, and most of all, an ever growing book of rules kills great racing.
WE WANT MORE CLASS 11 FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
better than group e
This is the 24hours of lemons of Nitro, and I love it!
🤣🤣🤣
I'm very glad that they would allow more variety in rallycross races these days, more please!
If you have not owned a VW Beetle in your life, you have missed out on a very special vehicle. Amazing little cars.
I would love to own one but it is hard to even find a ‘big taillight’ one under €7000.
Oh... I doubt it. Never owned, but ridden in a few. Utilitarian and unremarkable (except in oddness).

@@innocentbystander3798Because they're not supposed to be sports cars?
I had a 73 Super Beetle. Biggest POS I ever owned...worse than my Hyundai.
Great racing! This is just fun to watch.
This is so much fun!
I love the drone footage, it makes me feel like I'm in the race~!
More plz - a whole season of this with longer races would be tops!!
Short but exciting! An hour of this would be worth an entire F1 season!

Never knew this was a thing and I LOVE IT! This is how racing should be, low budget with no corporate sponsors.
No corporate sponsors -EXACTLY. Big corporations ruin everything.
they use to run pintos a long time ago
The list of stuff not done with a VW beetle is a heck of a lot shorter than the accomplishment list 😁
Kickass! And that drone cam is amazing

Herbie sisters! So much fun! Love it!
I miss my 65 Manx!
What great little bugs ♡
never knew bug races existed...
I subscribed...keep em comin'.
Yes! this is the best type of racing, cheap fun and not the fastest!
These bugs are worth a small fortune up here in the rust belt. It's weird to see people using them as race cars.
How much would people pay over there for one of these?
@@deerlord2363- $4k gets you a big project that might run. $15k gets you one that's nice looking and driving.
That's i call the pure racing from good times, sadly the main event is only eletric car with low emotions.
I love these. Look like so much fun
This was awesome lol the bumper tow :)))
The ‘66 (I think) with the original caps and bumpers, though.
That was awesome!🤓👍
Best race by far!!!
Oh baby I need some of that in my life!!
I can't LIKE this enough!
that more exciting than a NASCAR race
I wish I still had my 65 beetle first car in 1986

The drone camerawork is INCREDIBLE !!😲
Imported them from Mexico 🙃
Nope. SoCal. They're still around. Got a couple or 3 in my back yard. @@deerlord2363

Peak RWD RX!!! 👏
This is awesome! It looks so much fun. But I would want at least 100hp I was hoping cowboy Cerrone was gonna go better
These are brilliant.
Fact, my 1961 Bug did not have a fuel gauge, just a MC-style foot-operated petcock.
Awesome
Love the fpv footage🤙🤙
