    I have a 5-7 year old Ridgeline gun safe with a La Gard electronic lock (oder 4715 model I think. Not the newer improved 5715). I was starting to get invalid code signal (3 beeps) when entering the correct combination. It got worse to the point I could no longer open the safe. I found a fix AFTER I ordered a new lock.
    With a razor blade carefully peel off the keypad label (Where my two mounting screws are located). Take some PCB flux cleaner or Isopropyl alcohol and using a Q-tip clean all of the contact pads. Then clean the mating surface on the lock as well. Replace the keypad label. This fixed my problem and safe opens everytime now.
    In my case the top two number on the keypad contacts had some dark spots. Cleaning them removed the dark spots.

    Good video. I can't tell what type of lock is on my safe. It is an older Sentry Model, and has a lock that looks like yours, but styled differently. The logo on it is an oval shape that has a stylized Lg or Lc on it. I remember that the lock is called a Type II and it does have a 6-digit code. Is that likely a Le Gard lock that I can reset the code using your instructions? I left it on the factory code since it was new, but now I am starting to occasionally forget the code, and it takes a while to come back to my brain. I need to change it to something I can remember easily.

      I found out that is a La Gard logo, and I was able to change my combination. I did it wrong at first, but now got it right. Thanks.

    I have the same exact lock for 23 years. My problem is the wires finally broke from changing the batteries so I need somewhere to send it that they could fix it. I never had a problem with this lock I’ve changed the past code many times.

      When you look at the back of the lock, it has a date from 1995 it was manufactured

    I’ve had my safe with this brand digital lock for 18 years. It’s been great and no issues until now. Now sometimes it will not recognize my code and beep three times, meaning it’s not the right combo. Sometimes it’ll open on the first try. Other times it’ll lock me out for five minutes. I’ll come back, put the code in and it’ll open. I’ve replaced it with brand new batteries and still does the same thing. Any tips to fix this? Thanks!

      Same here!!! Combogard 39E. Price to fix it and change the Combogard 39E Digital Keypad it's more expensive than what's inside the vault.

    Is there a way to disable or silence the tone made when pressing the keys?

    • @bigbromiki1
      @bigbromiki1 Před 3 lety

      no
      the tones are important so that the lock can communicate to you what it is doing

    I cannot get in my cannon safe with this LG lock on it. went on vacation for 2 weeks and when I got home it will not open. I have tried using 3 new battery's but it beeps 3 times. I think that means it not accepting my code ! Is that correct ? ANY IDEAS ?

    Nothing but junk.....I have a winchester and a Cannon both won't open. Buy a safe with a mechanical lock

      I'm sorry you had trouble with your Lagard Basic Digital Lock. They are typically pretty reliable. Of course a mechanical lock is the most reliable lock.

    • @alexpearson8481
      @alexpearson8481 Před 2 lety

      Prob good advise. I was thinking of switching out my mechanical lock (needs maintenance) for one a lagard 3000. but maybe not....... maybe there are better electronic locks? Any thoughts? (I also like mechanical locks because of EMP danger)
