Hey guys the Light cant fight out of the terrain feature. 1.5 faction terrain "Some faction terrain allow you to place a unit on them....unless otherwise specified units on factions terrain features cannot use fight". I didnt really matter in this set up because he whiffed anyways but watch out for that next time! Love you guys
is this in the core rules? The 1.5 core rules I read states "Some factions have special terrain features called faction terrain
features. Faction terrain features have their own warscrolls. They are not
considered to be units, with the following exceptions:" those exceptions dont specify anything about the unit fighting...
This is correct. Unless specified otherwise, units on Faction terrain cannot fight.
Tycho got it right with this one. its the last sentence of section 1.5
Lovely batrep!
Finally some more Nurgle play!
Nurgle is my main faction in 4:th.
Just a Note: Beast of Nurgle can run and charge and retreat and charge due to thier unique ability, but they have to charge the closest target.
Slimux is a great support model to get more trees down and yeet a beast of nurgle in turn one do impact mortals then give desiease and powerthrugh if he survives and if he dies we get it back with slimux on a 3+
Also worth to note is that if you get the disease with the GuO spell you can spread it if you can place it good
need to add slimux to the collection that is one of the models we dont own
I really like the paint jobs on both armies; well done fellas. The elves in particular stick out to me as a former Biel-Tan player in 40K!
Thanks for another great report. Have you guys ever thought about live streaming a battle?
we have looked into it. We are planning on doing some experiments with it
Hey guys. As far as I know, you cannot use All-out-Attack OR All-out-Defense when using covering fire, since it is NOT a shoot ability. The command, covering fire states, that you resolve shooting attacks. You can, however, do a redeploy and then use covering fire :D
You also cannot use two commands on the same unit in the same phase if i am not misstaking.
You absolutely cannot use redeploy and covering fire, since its a run ability, and u cant shoot in the same turn as you ran, unless u have run and shoot ability
The reason you cant all out attack in covering fire is because covering fire is a command, and you cant use 2 commands in the same phase on one unit. The enemy that is target absolutely can use all out defense againt your covering fire
Covering fire has keywords SHOOT, ATTACK btw. However I've heard a similar claim that the opponent can't all out defense because you aren't "targeting" a unit before AoD is used. My problem with that is in rule 16.0 it says "When an Attack ability for a unit, you must pick the target unit(s) for its attacks." So in my head you still have to target a unit with the restriction of the effect not applying if you did not choose the closest unit since the effect only resolves against the closest unit. However it's also confusing af the way the ability is worded so I'm not sure lol.
@@georgep.4145redeploy is a movement not a run so you can redeploy then covering fire
Slimux planting trees and GUO's spell are valuable vectors of contagion.
Awesome battle guys. Im curious what Michael would think of a calligrave, being able to always successfully cast a manifestation during those magical interventions :p (but could be unbound of course)
Calli is main list until nerfed. If I’m spending a command point, I want the spell to go off every time. Don’t matter if unbound I just don’t want to fail on my behalf
I think calli is a must currently and its sitting in the giant pile of things that need painting. Hopefully i get it done soon
GuO rampage is during the end phase not during the fight phase but nice battle report !
Bloated with corruption should have been at the end. good catch
Sentinels should be 41 attacks due to the champion I believe.
Yep champion should get an extra attack
Ahh, I see you had it 2nd time
Great! More Lumineth!
"I feel like an army with 4+ or 5+ saves and no ward will get obliterated by LRL in this configuration..."
Eh...Ogor Mawtribes have been spanking LRL at the highest tournament levels. But then losing to Slaves or Fyreslayers, which both struggle with Nighthaunt, which struggle with Soulblights, which struggle with Gloomspite Gitz, which can struggle with Sons of Behemat and Seraphon, etc. There is a nice round robin in the game right now.
what about gravelords do nighthaunt struggle with? i figure that would be a good matchup for them?
Plague drones doing what they always do, croking having done next to nothing.
They did battle tactic and killed the general at least, but yeah, they suck now. They used to be useful to spread disease with missile weapons and make a chunky screen, now they are just there. Maggotkin is one of my favorite armies, and it makes me sad how weak sauce they felt on the battlefield while also doing NO damage. We both knew I was just surviving on borrowed time for the whole game
@@BattleshockWargaming I have had massive success with Putrid Blightkings. A lot of people mistakenly charge their killiest units into them, and they absorb it nicely while grinding them down. Pusgoyle Blightlords are also very good. Rotmire Creed can spread disease at range, and for cheap.
It isn't that Maggotkin are weak - they have won some RTT and GT level events, after all. It's that we can't play them with the exact same models the exact same way we did before. That isn't unique to Maggotkin, however. When an edition changes, or an army gets new rules, people assume buff or nerf based on how their EXACT SAME list and tactics perform. We often forget that it is not a buff or nerf, as it is no longer AoS 3.0 Maggotkin going against other 3.0 armies.
@@saltedllama2759 How do you make the mortal part of Nurgle work? The PutridB have a good defense but get charged by some hammer and they are more than half dead, retaliate doing no damage and die next turn.
The Fly have the same cost of Chaos Knights and they exchange a 5+ ward for -2" movement, -4 health, -1 Armor save, less damage and no -1 Wound to the enemy (mark of chaos). Considering the CK are not even the best unit in StD that is a really bed battle profile.
There is nothing on the mortal side, a part form the pray of the Hearbringer, that is good. I love Nurgle but I can't find a way to make them not suck in this edition.
Also shouldn't be able to loft shots during covering fire. A lot of little fiddly things about LRL that it seems like you should be able to do, but can't, that are easy to miss
Helping the algorithm for these fine chaps
Thanks for the comments, all hail the algorithim gods!
You can't use lofted shots in enemy turn.
but what if i really really want to use lofted shots? can i do it then? you are right michael fudged that one
Forgot the -1 to cast for magical intervention.
Did michael forget or was he getting the plus 1 to cast from the twinstones?
@@BattleshockWargamingI thought it was on the palisades and that Michael rolled high enough to unbind. But it was 2 3's.
I love your batreps, rooting for LRL of course!
I don’t know when you filmed this, but as I commented on the last video, you can’t AoD to covering fire.
Also no lofted shots in enemy turn but since you rolled 4+/4+ on covering fire, maybe you just called them wrong?
No michael was def doing lofted shots but 2 -1 to hits still is just 1 -1 to hit. As far as AOD against covering fire. the community is split on this and i think we need to wait for a FAQ. 1 camp says you cant because you dont select a target. 2 camp says you do because covering fire command states target the closes unit.
At 14:50~ you ran the Spirit of the Wind and then shot with it in the same turn. How did you do that? Am I missing something?
Spirit of the wind has a passive that allows run and charge.
Devs: Nobody will take the Double Turn now
Players: I hope I get the Double Turn!
Cool armies, and good flow to the report!
People were in the habit of it for 6 years, that's why. It's engrained into them. It simply isn't that useful anymore, however, and there is plenty of interactive counterplay.
After playing it, the double turn can still be really impactful. if you are ahead in scoring, take the double and delete the opps units to score you still win
Certainly saw that in the tourney that I played in - it’s a potential game-winning body-slam for the person ahead in T2 or T3
Don’t think you can AOA or AOD when covering fire is done
You’re right
All out attack no cant do. All out defense the community is split on and its not totally clear. I have been to two large events and its been rules differently at each. Im hoping to see a FAQ about this soon.
Hey michael
Minute 16:43 your dawnrider did 12 mortals on 6s to hit not 6. you get double dmg in charge..also double mortals.
Great video as always
I only rolled 3 6s 😃
@@BattleshockWargamingok im a Bit retarded nvm
Let's go Nurgle!!! Love seeing the stinky boiz on the channel.
So do we. Its a very flavorful faction!
Another excellent battle report.
Thanks bud i appreciate your constant support
Can you unbind a magical intervention?
Yes. Unbinds are a separate pool related to Power Level. Banish and Cast are combined into one shared pool.
Reinforced Dawnriders + hero and reinforced Sentinels? This is gonna be brutal. ^^"
and brutal it was!
12:29 sanctum is a little tricky, it’s setup is outside 3” of all other units and terrain :(
the way i read it you pick a hero wholly within 12 and the hero needs to be 3 inches away from all other units and terrain. then you can set up the sanctum
Faction Terrain is setup before deploying other units, so you should never have to worry about the "other units" issue.
@@nicholasrau8928 are we talking about the shrine or the sanctum of amyntok. im confused now.
@BattleshockWargaming My mistake! I somehow converted Sanctum to Shrine in my head.
@@nicholasrau8928 okay just wanted to be sure i wasnt mis reading this
Its interesting you had such a poor experience with the nurgle disease, we just ran nurgle and it just stomped with that disease just being devastating.
We're you applying it once (army) at the end of every turn? If every unit spread disease each turn, it would be much better I think :)
@@BattleshockWargaming Yep both the apply disease and the damage are at the end of every turn, so it can really spread quickly in both your turn and the opponents. GUO is also great for spreading it to key targets so you can then spread it further. I might have missed something but it seemed like it wasn't being spread very often this game.
From what I've seen it works vest if you can infect more than one unit per turn, so the GUO spell or the tree help, then you can also use the spread to all within 3" option. I feel sad that most ppl don't seem to be playing with trees, why not?
@@BattleshockWargaming Fortunately we played it right in this case. Between the GUO's spell, offensive tree placement from horticulus slimux, and the once per end of turn, I was able to get it on them before EoT and then spread it EoT rather than apply it. After you get it on ~3 units the dmg with the Tallyband battalion is good and they just cant shake it off fast enough. You can even add the rotbringer shooting unit that lets you apply if with the EoT ability via countershoot off turn.
@@michaelchampion936 I think a lot of people are worried about putting a tree near midboard for an easy enemy charge/extra movement early on. Running Slimux will help with being able to put a tree in enemy territory though.
You have GOT to remove place of power terrain features, they never work xD
Dave and places of power man. they do more harm then good
Go team fox!
Thanks for the comment and for supporting the channel!
Spoiler Shield
Nurgle the best chaos faction have to win
Rejoice in the filth!
I honestly thought you played really well I think a list of rotigus and a great unclean one with 2 reinforced units of plague bearers will do some work
Lrl!!!!
Watch this whole comment section turn into LRL hate
always
Funny thing, there is none, lol. No one needs to comment on the obvious.
