      We can't confirm or deny any bodies are buried. But if there were some, they'd be buried deep in your software contracts. ;)

    The VM licensing video mentioned doesn't exist?

    So the moral of the story for Standard running 2 VMs using Hyper-V or ESXi is to buy a machine with a single 16-core processor or two 8-core processors. You need one CAL per user unless they are running apps on the server through Terminal Services, in which case they also need an RDS CAL. However, if they are working remotely by just connecting through the VPN to their local computers on the internal network they don't need them. Next stop is figuring out MSSQL 2022 licensing running on one of those VMs.

    Can you explain the licensing configuration when the hypervisor is vmware and we are running Windows VM on that what licensing model is required and how many licenses are required.

    Sam.. I have a 16core licence win server 2019 standard.
    Going to use it only for AD to manage login credentials and to set up a central storage....
    Do I need Cal's

    • @MrLocoAndrew
      @MrLocoAndrew Před 3 lety +2

      Yes you do need Cal's best way is user Cal's so if one user has 2 device you only use one cal compared to device Cal's. You will need a cal for each user you are going to domain join. If it's a small company look at server 2019 essentials which basically comes with Cal's

      @@TheSAMChannel360 Ha! Maybe you haven't met Linux OS before? Windows has so many bugs and does not run as efficient as a Linux box does! And, for many distributions, it's FREE! Oh, and what about support you say? Well, once again you have no clue how popular Linux is especially as backend servers for so many popular companies! It won't be hard at all to find support at a fraction of the cost over Windows support!
