Dam does he ever age
I know right 😅😅😅😅😅
One interesting aspect to all these epic interviews is that although many of these DJs were starting out at around the same time, each person had his/her own individual experience of being introduced to house music and, subsequently, becoming a part of it. It's fascinating how much these houseologists have in common and yet how vastly different their journeys were. Hurley is easily among my top 5 house DJs.
Excellent! I always consider Steve one of the most well rounded: Dope DJ, Dope Producer, Dope Remixer.
For years I have always known who Steve Hurley was because of crystal waters. But i NEVER knew what he looked liked until today. I am a huge fan !!!
Please don't stop doing these podcasts. There are very few blackcentric house music platforms on youtube.
A big salute goes out to Silk, Chicago and the Kingdom of the original house sound pioneers from the 80s NYC Househeads 👊🏽
Come on Silk, admit it... you're the true Jackmaster. ;-)
YES yes.. Patrice Rushen, Sharon Redd ..etc 💚 80's, Body 2 Body 90's.. I rinsed "let's get intimate" 💚UK🇬🇧alway's listening to US import's. Btw, great interview & Channel ,also Mr Hurley if true, we share the same cake day🙌🏿! Bless 🙏🏾
Hurley has a unique mixing style. I actually use to try to mix like Hurley and Farley, but wasn’t successful. LOL
Wow wow wow is all I can say. I sat here for an hour plus hanging on every question and every answer because this is the episode I’ve been waiting for. Hurley is a historian, storyteller and a talker so he’s going to go into great detail and this episode was probably 2 hours or could’ve been. I almost wish it was because you guys are my heroes. The stuff y’all did with that remix run from 89/90-92ish is absolutely legendary. Mo you asked some great questions and as a person that was there you know and knew stuff the public didn’t so you were the perfect person to ask those things. Steve is the legend. I love his perspective of moving on and not holding onto the pain and anger of the past. That’s why I call him “the ageless one”. You see that man’s face? That’s the look of someone that doesn’t carry the weight of the past. Excellent job Mo please continue to bring us these. Looking forward to the E Smoove episode
Great assessment of the interview. Spot on.
The Trendsetter.
We ALL owe you Brother.
👊🏾🖤💫🙏🏾
Love steve and all his music. He was a huge inspiration to me when I started
Great interview Maurice. You kept those questions rolling man! Very informative and enjoyable to listen to. Thank you bro. 🙏🏽👊🏽
Yeahhh Maurice is the man!
Thank you for another great interview! Chi town finest. "Higher" One of my favorite tracks.
Hey Legend!!! SALUTE Steve Hurley 💯
Great interview! Great work. Arguably one of the faces on House Music's Mount Rushmore. True Chicago legend.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Steve is definitely a blueprint to learn from.
Absolutely love hearing these stories. Thanks so much for bringing these interviews!

Thank you. Thank you. I have such great memories of spending time with steve in Miami
Yo man you are a great and stand up guy. I like the busy and growing and good things can come from bad experiences!
Early WGCI mix show was called “8 at 8”
Great Interview!!!
Love it another great show
Amazing interview. Really great to hear how it all came about. I was buying the import 12s in the uk & it really put it all in perspective.
Thank you Maurice..Love the show💖
Steve, Always a Favorite 🎶🎶💃🏽🎶🎶🙏🏾🙌🏽
Jack master silk ! Great interview and thanks for the great music .
I was waiting for this interview
Good stuff
Respect! So much history so much knowledge! I wish somebody would ask Silk about Prince using 'Music is the Key' for 'Cindy C' on the Black Album
It was Terry Mack
🎶🎶🎶💃🏽🎶🎶
Another great interview. Steve is very humble and a forgiven person.
It's sad to hear how he has lost money and opportunities by shady people in the industry or have befriended him.
I can't wait to hear something new from him in the future.
What is the other media called that he mentioned something like Chicago LP?
I didn't hear you asked the question of clearing up a past or prest beef or something misunderstood about him.
Again, great interview. Keep up the shows.
Silk And Skip - Chicago's Finest: The Chicago LP (S & S Records Inc, 2007). The Limited Edition CD/DVD Package includes a Bonus DVD Documentary chronicling the beginning and the
future of the Chicago House movement.
Thanks for the love, and all good, bro, I learn from all experiences, good and bad.
@@magic_juan75I have that DVD.
Great interview Steve. You did aa track in the 80's called "In and Out" that I heard in a few mixes but it never came out. Any chance of it ever seeing the light of day? Have you ever considered releasing some of those songs that never received an official release?
Challenge: Drink a shot every time dude goes “WOOWW”😅
Damn I just posted this to my mayor in Gary Indiana to have a festival and me and my fiancé was saying a dope chosen few, house, or techno festival of black djs would be so dope. Never knew JM stood for Jack master
Does this guy ever age?
Steve mentions a previous interview where Farley goes into detail about the name situation. Does anyone know where I can find this interview? It sounds like he said "the LP interview". I searched around but could not find anything.
same here, im also looking for it. Hurley mentions the "Chicago LP."

@@magic_juan75 thank you for posting the title. 👍

I get what Steve irks about using the name 'HOUSE'. The dance music from NY (Frankie Bones) is 99% Cabbage and 1% Bonesbreakes. I used the original tracks and the matching BB for me to create a unique set.
In '88 I was in Detroit (changed my life) and discovered Techno which I found a bit rough around the edges but that is the Detroit sound. You should go to Germany and experience a' Techno ' party. I'm still FURIOUS' about the disrespect to even consider equating diarrhea with 'Techno' WTF 😊🤬
Is this Maurice Joshua doing these interviews?
Yes
Where do I watch this "Chicago LP" that Hurley keeps mentioning? ❤
