Sat next to Roy Hudson on lead e flat tuba, so many others I remember from those heady days. I still have a picture of the band of 1982 in a large frame. Sadly some are no longer with us, but oh what a time that was, enjoyed every minute. Winning the Open in 1988 on Contest Music has to be my personal highlight, conducted by Bramwell Tovey. We drew No:19... Dyke were 18, it was a joy to be part of that winning band. I still reminisce about those times, I'm guessing there's a lot of bandsmen out there doing exactly the same, re-living past glories.
