    Bio is such a difficult class to master. You can know so much about the subject and still not have enough info to even pass.

    Not to diss Crash Course (which I love and helped me passed General Bio with an A) but I think you're the best out there! You make it super easy to understand with examples and talk slowly and explain things! It makes me love biology so thank you for that! My first test is next monday and I've been preparing for a week now and these videos really are nifty, so thank you again!

      I like Crash course, but these videos are much easier to understand. I also want to suggest the Amoeba Sisters. They make *really* fun bio videos, but they are more of overviews of the topics rather than in-depth lectures.

    1:25 I thought lipids aren't made of monomers at all. Another video says this about lipids: "...many do not consider lipids to have true monomers. This is due to the fact that their building blocks are made of two different substances (glycerol and fatty acids) that attach to each other--rather than attaching as one type of monomer to another. Also, due to the diversity of lipids, there are lipids that have a very different structure[s]..."
    Do lipids have a monomer or not?

    • @scibust
      @scibust Před 3 lety +2

      The scientific community doesn't consider them monomers because they are really simple substances with basic structures. You will not find hundreds of chains of fatty acids attached to one glycerol, you only find three. Well yes, the fatty acids combine to the glycerol with dehydration synthesis, its technically not considered a polymer (which is made up of hundreds or thousands of monomers!!). I'm two years late and you probably have moved on from biology but I just dropped the information to anyone curious.
