Wow! how this sapphire ring reminds us of Her Royal Highness Diana. I really feel she picked this Blue Sapphire ring to represent the her dedication and role to the British Monarch and People. Her intention from the start of her role are obvious.

What I love about Catherine, Princess of Wales is that she is respectful towards and honors the history of the previous Princess of Wales but is in no way trying to be Diana. Both women are icons in their own right.

Not true. According to the jeweler who works for the royals, the ring was too big for Kate. Rather than resize it, altering the historic piece, he welded small platinum beads inside the back/ inside of the ring to make it fit. This way the ring can easily be restored to its original state and no metal was removed.
