Glitch Fix for Scrooge McDuck's Grand Re-Opening in Disney Dreamlight Valley

- There is a problem with Scrooge McDuck's Grand Re-Opening quest where players are stuck on Craft Dandelion and Rising Penstemon Pot using the items collected even after crafting and placing the flower pots outside. You will have completed the quest steps, but will not be able to progress with Scrooge.
The cause of this glitch is crafting the flower vases at Goofy's workbench instead of the one in Scrooge McDuck's shop. The solution is a bit time consuming, but well worth it to continue on with the story. When you are able to use Dreamlight to open up the Glades of Trust or Sunlit Plateau biome. In both, you will be able to collect clay to re-craft the two vases and then craft the flower pots for Scrooge.

I just got it to work.
Make sure you are TRACKING the quest gather the items (like the video said you can get clay in the biomes mentioned). Craft the pots, then craft the dandelion/rising penstermon flower pots. It was important for me that I use scrooges bench like the vid said.
Then you will see the quest change and the next direction is to place the two pots with flowers.

You are a life saver. It's 5 AM where I am. I'm having a hard time sleeping so decided to play until I have classes. I've been stuck on this mission for 3 days because scrooge didn't recognize the 3 flowers I made him. I am now finally free from the scrooge mcduck curse 😭😂
I was stuck for ages too. Finally got it to work in the end. On mine it had two different plant pots. You need to make one of each. Instead of two of the same. Hope this helps

Anyone else run into the issue of only being able to craft 3 of the signs? I crafted 3, got the materials to craft the 4th, went back to the bench and it was removed from the craft inventory. I even tried Goofy's bench and I don't see it. I'm stuck with only 3... : o
Interesting! Did this stop you from being able to continue with the quest or did Scrooge not notice?

I had the same problem I made 4 signs and then one disappeared and I can’t craft another one the option is gone. I can’t do anything now.

I think the flower pots he gave me got placed outside, rather than in my inventory, so now he just gets upset when I craft my own pots- I now have 10 of the dandelion and rising pemenontson pots

Ok so what do you do if you already crafted the flower pots from goofy’s work bench and then also scrooges workbench and it’s still not working and I can’t find anymore dandelions or rising flowers bc I used them all and made 8 pots?
My glitch is the sign. I have placed 4 signs around town but the menu is still saying I have only placed 3 signs and it’s not letting me craft anymore signs.
I had this issue too along with one of mine disappearing initially.
Go around and pick up and place the signs again. It should recognize them all the next time around.
If your sign disappeared like one of mine another person was kind enough to share that you can order more signs from scrooge. They cost 3200.
@@jeansmith7269 That did not work. I had to place one extra sign for it to pick up 4 signs. So I have to place 5 to get 4.
Glitch where the fourth sign DISAPPEARED out of my inventory! Placed 3 n when for fourth n it was GONE! Can’t update my house now. Help??? Please…
Hi, I was also stuck for a looooong time, and for me it worked when I picked up pots that was left outside the Scrooge's store, then I crafted the dandelion pots on scrooge's bench (one of each position in crafting menu) and I was even wearing his T-shirt just in case hahah. Hope this helps!
I've skipped over this quest till much later in th, I have been gathering clay and making new pot while wearing shirt and everything. Still not registering that I have the flower pots made I have about 12 rn
It still didn’t fix it for me. I tried crafting pots and then flower pots again and again at Scrooge’s table yet the mission just doesnt progress. I have like 12 of the flower pots now😂 I dont know what to do already

This doesnt work for me. Im playing on Apple arcade, not sure if it makes a difference but it doesn’t give me the option to craft the pots again in his shop. Do I have to start this game from scratch for it to work? I have tried everything but there is no option to craft the pots for scroog again. So frustrating

I'm stuck with 10 Dandelion and Rising Penstemon Pots, none of which are being recognized. I crafted the last 3 at Scrooge's in-store crafting table too. You are kind to answer so many people! I've noticed when I go to the Inventory list (X button) in my backpack that the 2 flowers' thumbnail pictures are properly flagged with the purple ”this item is needed in a quest" (my words/phrase to describe, not a phrase from the game) icon, where below in the Inventory item's details, Scrooge's face/portrait with a blue "this item is needed in a Scrooge quest" appears. HOWEVER, THE GAME DOES NOT MARK, INDICATE OR RECOGNIZE MY CLAY AND SOIL INVENTORY ITEMS with the same Scrooge icon, so the flower pots I craft at Scrooge's craft table aren't being recognized as items needed for any Scrooge quest. I think this is a deeper indicator/root of where the problem is coming from. Any ideas what to do? Has anyone else noticed the indicator I have?

I completed this quest not long after posting here. Sorry, I didn't post what worked for me, and my memory is already unclear. I crafted the pots at Scrooge's crafting table inside his store. When selecting the crafting recipe, though I'd already used the original pots given, the recipe menu showed two flower pot recipes. I had been crafting using just one of the recipes, changing the quantity to 2 (I think someone on another web page addressing this glitch said this works). Then what worked for me was paying careful attention to the positions in the crafting menu to be sure I crafted one pot from "each" recipe. Then after placing these 2 pots in front of the 2 display windows of Scrooge's store, the animation of Scrooge coming up and saying I'd completed the quest automatically came up. Hope this helps! :)
I had tried pretty much everything here, but the thing that FINALLY worked for me was:
Going outside Scrooge’s store
Going into the furniture placing area of the inventory
Picking up the pots outside of Scrooge’s
Using THOSE POTS SPECIFICALLY
Crafting the two different flower pot recipes in Scrooge’s store
NOW it registered that I crafted the items, and I can place them. I don’t know if my inventory was full or what, but I never got the pots from Scrooge, so I was seriously struggling with this one.

I’ve got the glitch using Scrooges craft table, I’ve done it twice
I’m stuck at the sign I crafted four signs put four out but one disappeared now it won’t let me craft another sign and it’s saying I only have three signs out. I’m very stuck.
When I try to craft. It won’t let me at all with the pots he gave me. But if I gather clay and make my own it should let me craft?
My glitch is that the pots he gave me wouldn’t go into my inventory and my avatar wasn’t wearing his T-shirt, despite Scrooge saying I had it on. I restarted my game and now one of the four signs I had placed have disappeared! There’s no option to make another one and I can’t order one from him either. He just keeps telling me to place the signs! Well and truly stuck! 😭

My glitch is that I placed the flower pots in front of the store before crafting them with the flowers. I can’t pick up the pots to fix it and there’s no way to get more pots. So now I’m stuck :(

The new patch apparently placed clay pots outside of the shop, but I haven’t been able to find them yet. I’ve reset a couple times, hopefully third time will be the charm.
Easiest Fix for this track the quest drop the flowers pick them up craft it. dont just make the items because you have the items always pay attention to the quests because if it says gather it wants you to gather thats why you drop and pick back up. i dont think it matters where you craft it tho but just incase do it with scrooges.
Yes! Tracking quest is everything! I’ll make sure to emphasize that more in the next video. I think this bug has been fully fixed, but will test to make sure soon on my glitch testing save file.

I can’t even do the quest. I have all the things to make the pots but it won’t let me craft them. I’m even in his craft studio. Am I doing something wrong?

I just started the game and I need Clay for this mission and others but I still haven't unlocked the other area to get clay easily.
What should I do? Should I just put pause on the progress of Scrooge McDuck quests and move to someone else ?
Yes exactly :)
The quest-lines are flexible. So, you can select another quest and focus on that for a bit and then return to this one when you have clay.
A good way to gather dreamlight is to read the dreamlight duties and try to go through any that you would find enjoyable.

I have 7 of the pots all crafted on scrooges table with collected flowers. It says I have to craft them still! been stuck for a week😓
I'm so sorry to hear this, sounds like you are doing it all correct, was the October 19th patch able to fix this bug for you?
I managed to glitch it by crafting one before it had registered I'd collected all the flowers since I only had one purple flower at the time, so something to watch out for also
That is very good to know. What happened when you gathered more flowers? Just nothing?
@@MintyPlush it finished off the flower gathering as normal once I collected some more, but where i used some of the clay the pots got stuck till I got some more

So I got to the part where I get the pots but I didn’t realize that my inventory bag was full. So I didn’t get the two pots. So I’m stuck. Anyone know what I can do?
Just continue playing, and you'll be able to unlock new areas and get clay and make pots.

Could not find clay where you described, is there anywhere else you can find clay?
Clay can be found by digging holes in the Glades of Trust, Sunlit Plateau and The Forgotten Lands. Keep digging holes in any of those areas and you will find it. There seems to be a slight boost in drop rate when it is raining. Keep me updated and good luck! 🍀

Does it make a difference what level of friend you are with Scrooge? I'm level 8 but am not finding how to get the pots to be recognized by Scrooge....

i placed all four of scrooge’s signs and it’s only marked off three and i can’t make anymore signs
Try putting all the signs back in your furniture inventory (select each sign and press remove while in furniture mode). Save, and close your game. Re-open your game, go to the quests section in the menu and select the quest so that you are tracking it. Now, that the quest step is on the top left corner of your screen, go into furniture mode again and place down the signs - they will be located in the quest category at the top.

Just to confirm, have you selected the quest to track it? (It will show on the top left corner)
Also, what happens when you go to Scrooge’s craft table? If you tab through the options do the signs show up but just not let you craft them?
@@MintyPlush didnt see your comment until just now but i solved it i just had to cloud save and close the game and come back in. Didnt want to loose any progress which is why i hadnt already tried that but i got irritated and just decided to risk it

When you talk with him and ask him about the quest, what does he say? Did you craft both flower pots at the same time? Are both flower vases placed near his shop? Have you moved his shop to a new area by any chance? Sorry for so many questions, just want to see what’s going on from all angles.
One thought that comes to mind is going into your quests section and “track the quest” by clicking on and turning the flourish yellow. Then, go into your furniture mode outside and adjust the pot location. That might do it!
I just posted another video on how to get enough friends for the friendship pillar if you want to continue with the plot and revisit it after getting clay.
Omg one more question: when you go to a crafting table, do you still see the recipe for the clay vases and flower pots or just the flower pot recipe?
So I have the same thing as the person who posted- I did everything correctly and at Scrooge’s craft bench. It’s snowing as unavailable for the pots now
@@Spacevvizard unavailable for the pots, where is it saying unavailable? If it is in the crafting menu, then the pots may still be sitting in your inventory’s furniture section. At the top, you will see Scrooge’s face under the quest section of furniture categories, the pots should show there so you may place them. Let me know if that works, and if not more details on where it says unavailable. Good luck! 🍀
I’m having trouble with the store sign quest on my switch I already placed the 4 signs and it’s not showing I placed 4 therefore I haven’t been able to advanced in the game it’s driving me crazy anyone has any idea on what to do? Thanks 😢
@Kristal Daniele I contacted gameloft to complain and let them know of this issue but no reply yet , I’m so disappointed because I can’t advanced in the game just stuck there😩
Maybe pick up all the signs and put them back in your furniture inventory. Then, give Scrooge some gifts (flowers are fastest) to boost his friendship level up. Next, ask if he wants to hang out with you. Then while he is hanging out with you, go outside and place all the signs down again. Talk to him after that and see what he says.

There are some empty pots near scrooges shop now. (Added in a later patch) go into furniture mode and remove them. Then try the crafting recipe.

Hey Tony! A good way to gain Dreamlight to unlock a biome with clay (Glades of Trust is 4k Dreamlight) is to do tasks on your Dreamlight Duties tab. Once you are able to get the clay you can craft the vases and re-craft the flower pots at Scrooge’s workbench. Keep me updated on your progress, if you run into anymore trouble, I’ll do my best to help. 🍀
@@MintyPlush Hey Minty. So the issue I'm having is you have to repair the Pillar of Friendship to even be allowed to unlock other bioms. And can't do any other quests to up friend levels to 5. Also all the favorite gifts are things I can't get yet. I do have Goofy at 5 but everyone else seems impossible. Any tips?
@@tonyvance1781 I forget, are you able to hang out with Scrooge while the quest is active or does it only allow you to give gifts and ask about the quest?
@@tonyvance1781 to get Goofy, Mickey, and Merlin to level 5 in the meantime, have them hang out with you while grinding carrot farming for money. Check to see if you can remove the large thorns in front of the castle and if so, you will be able to unlock 3 new characters that are in mini worlds (very cute mini games). Once they are unlocked and move in, you can befriend two of them to reach 5 friends at level 5. Just remember whatever you are doing, have a friend hang out with you- even picking flowers, fruit, farming and fishing build friendship points in the background. It does not have to be their specialty.

My glitch is in merlins house where the photo orb has gone in front of his telescope and i cant pick it up 😅
I’ve read about this glitch, hopefully devs patch it in the upcoming hot fix. To avoid it happening in the future I have this little trick:
Before I engage with sparkly items, I’ve been positioning myself to stand facing towards a clear path. It seems that the object (gift bags and orbs) trajectory follows our avatar’s line of sight.
Another tip, that I don’t always do, but probably should is save before I engage with them too. My game frequently crashes when I pick them up during the glowing animation.

@@MintyPlush This glitch about getting stuck behind the telescope happened to me, but once I restarted the game it was reset back in front of the telescope for me. Hope it does the same for others.
My dumb ass, took the pots and placed it outside the store immediately before planting the flowers. And I can’t pick them up again 😅.

While one sign is your furniture inventory (unplaced) - go to scrooge and see if you can order another one? Also, make sure you are tracking the quest. Let me know if this helps or if it is still stuck and I'll see what I can do to help.

@@sonny3250 that is really pricey for some wood! gosh, well for this stage of the game I think you can earn that buy selling around 50 carrots. I hope it works!

Next to Scrooge’s shop, look for some empty flower pots. In Furniture mode select them and remove them. This will add them to your inventory and should allow you to craft more the needed flowers for outside his shop.
