I recommend replacing your AN lines for the oil cooler with name brand ones as I have the exact same oil cooler kit and both of mine exploded racing down the highway
Im about to start my single turbo build on my 08' 535xi wagon. Super excited but incredibly nervous. Dumped a ton of money into precursor maintenance and upgraded parts. Any advice?
@@plushautospa921 oh yes this is my second N54 wagon so I know about the temperament but they are just so sweet. This will be my first time converting twins to a single. I have $3k just in maintenance items and parts then another $5k in turbo and upgrade parts.

I love these cars even though they can be a royal pain sometimes lol I’m currently around 14k in upgrades and maintenance on my N54, index 12’s, all gaskets, water pump X3 🤣, Full bolt ons, bilstien suspension, ecu mostfets, and a bunch more lol plan is to go single 6466 next year or this winter maybe
@@plushautospa921 I got my HPFP and index 12s all replaced under warranty. Upgraded my ECU to MSD81 for mosfet reliability and did a bunch of other things already. Hoping all else is good for this single turbo wagon build.
You shouldn’t run those 10AN oil cooler lines. They will rupture and ruin You’re pulleys and tensioner with scolding hot oil. And that will destroy your belt and could suck into the crank if you don’t have a guard. Trust me I’ve ran two sets of a lines it’s not suitable. That fan and among tight and sharp edges it dosen’t take much to rupture an oil cooler line.

What happened, Did the lines hit the fan and blew up or did they screw off at the fittings? Which lines and fittings did you get?
@@Marky_Markster neither. The Chinese lines cant hold the oil pressure that goes through them.

Get ready to dump a bunch more lol coming from a N54 owner so not hating, these cars make jam but can be quite temperamental lol

Check my community pin even with a deleted thermostat block off plate I’ve already ran into potential issues again with new lines
Oh for sure those oil lines are compromised they just need to touch the fan and will rupture
