Lyrics:
Pardon me while I burst
Pardon me while I burst
A decade ago, I never thought I would be.
A twenty three on the verge of spontaneous combustion. Woe-is-me
But I guess that it comes with the territory.
An ominous landscape of never-ending calamity.
I need you to hear. I need you to see.
That I have had all I can take
And exploding seems like a definite possibility
To me
So Pardon me while I burst into flames.
I've had enough of the world, and its people's mindless games
So Pardon me while I burn, and rise above the flame
Pardon me, pardon me. I'll never be the same. - Hudba
That intro riff is dope as hell, love how the guitarist swells the volume control with the chords and the effect he uses
I absolutely loveeee the first 25 seconds of this song I’m like man, I wish they continued with it 😭😭 the rest of the song is nothing like the very beginning except like 2 minutes later they tease us again. Still a great song though ♥️

This song got me through some of my darkest days, whether it be substance abuse, tackling attraction that wasn’t mutual, or the homelessness I went through, it strengthened my spirit. It made me feel that everything I was going through wasn’t for nothing, and that it’d lead to something better. Fast forward a few years, and I’ve got a good grasp on my emotions, I’ve become cleansed of substance abuse, and I’m no longer homeless. I pushed to survive, and I did just fine doing so. I feel that sometimes people just need a push in the right direction and that’s this was for me. Odd, because I never thought music could save people til it saved me.
I hope that people out there struggling find your peace, your push to do better, and to never forget that there’s a light at the end of every tunnel.
God is real man. Look into Jesus
this is beautiful. i’m going through a time of struggle in my life at the moment actually, and this was comforting to read.

2024 and still going strong. Thank you to all the Gen X Dads who showed their millennial daughters good music like mine did. I was born in 93 and I was raised on 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s rock, and 2000/10s emo music and I refuse to listen to anything else. Music now has no meaning music then had all the meaning. Rock music is the only genre that has stayed consistent and I appreciate that. If rock music didn't exist I don't think I would be here today.
That's a neat and interesting take I had only figured out so many years ago that I was actually a millennial I guess you could consider me an elder millennial so I do feel like I was raised closer to the generation of Gen x, back then when this music was out I thought it was annoying stuff to gen xers but as I've grown older I've learned just how quickly time flies and how much of an illusion it really is enter always appreciate what I have cuz it is fleeting. It's very touching what you said about your dad, I was fortunate and still am fortunate to have parents that raised me a little bit old school
Just saw these guys live, Incubus does not disappoint.

Yeah this is the fire from the friction of the nineties! Great time for emotion in music!
This was all before all music was ran through computers and all the imperfections and musicianship was taken out of it. Now it all sounds clean, corporate, for the lowest common denominator to maximize sales and boring. Was born in the 80s and so glad music is timeless and we can always go back and listen to the stuff we grew up with and love.

I fully expected this song to have over 100 million views. One of the anthems of the early 2000s.
Late 90s.
A song about coming of age and the everlasting fear of death. A reflection of what we all know is inevitable, being a ripe age of 18 this song has a deeper meaning than most think. The idea of bursting among the flame is going beyond death. Whether you believe in god or not we all have our struggles and suffering. Times change and the world changes, whether you change with the times is up to you. The song is beautiful in every way possible.
Death comes to all of us. Worrying about a natural process is foolish. Accept that fact, but do know what you have done will affect the future. Were you a good parent? A good person?
If God exists then this entity will sort us out for eternal life. If God doesn't exist then realize your choices, regardless of belief, in YOUR life affects future generations.
We all matter while we live. Our actions or non-actions affect the future.

I was having a look in a book
And I saw a picture of a guy fried up above his knee
I said, I can relate
Cause lately I've been thinking of combustication as a welcome vacation from
The burdens of the planet Earth
Like gravity, hypocrisy and the perils of being in 3D
But thinking so much differently
Pardon me while I burst into flames
I've had enough of the world and its people's mindless games
So pardon me while I burn
And rise above the flame
Pardon me, pardon me

Heyyyyy thank you so much for the lyrics!!!!!
This song came out when I had just left my abusive ex-husband. It was a really difficult time in my life and this song was huge part of the soundtrack of my life at that time.
@Joshua Carroll WTF! You're an asshole. Yes. I got my ass beat. Once he hit me, I left. He was a fucking angry meth head. I had no clue he was addicted to meth until a couple years after we divorced. He ended up in a prison for stabbing his most recent gf that he met in court-ordered rehab. You're a fucking ass.
I could have written this. I hope you’re having a happy life. 🙂
My best friend was cremated recently. Ironically this is one of his wife's favorite songs, he couldn't listen to it because it hurt too much. I love you brother and I pray you rose above the flames. I also have had enough of peoples mindless games. I hope to meet you again my friend.
I've loved this song forever but somehow never saw the video until today. It feels like I went back in time to when you had to figure out which hours of the day MTV actually played music, then cross your fingers and hope they played something you wanted to see. By the time I started watching MTV2 (remember when they played music there too?) and Fuse, Incubus was more popular and they only played their newer videos. Pretty awesome that now you can hop on CZcams and see any video, any time, as many times as you want. The kids nowadays have no idea how different it was just 15 years ago.

You must be the first person I've ever talked to who doesn't care for Chino Moreno's voice. odd.
I believe this song is talking about evolving out of your physical body into your spirit light body by burning through your karmic residue. Its kinda like you have to go through darkness in order to appreciate the light. Like symbolism of a phoenix--The phoenix when it grows tired, it builds a nest of aromatic twigs, and then sets fire to itself to be consumed in the funeral pyre of its own making. After three days, the phoenix would arise from the ashes, reborn.

And I released my depression in 3 minutes... Long last Incubus!

Listen to the radio, watch TV, go outside,,,, but also the radio: racial slur racial slur racial slur. Other things explicit. I know I heard curse words back then but was it always in ur face this much? Bc now I feel like I should go reminisce in those genres & maybe trigger something. I at least remember warning labels.🤷🏻♀️ I mean, at least its the weekend. I dont gotta do nada

The 90s and early 00s were the best. I can't tell you how much I wish I could hang out with you all back then

Listening to rock makes me want to go to backyard shows...but I’m stuck in this stupid house.

you know you feel old when you’re in your late 20’s listening to 90’s-early 2000’s music. I now understand my parents.
Rest in Power, Aaron Bushell
They really nailed the feeling of early 20's life, it's where the real growing up happens.

This song was really popular in 2003, 2004. I remember listening it everywhere, but never associating it to Incubus.
Really nostalgia, man. Time never stops. So live it today.
1999 was when it peaked
@@robertreynolds2350 I don't know where you live, but here in Brazil it were popular back in early 2000's
It debuted in March of 1999 on MTV. The album was released in 99 as well. It continued to be a hit for years to come.

Not, two days ago I was having a look in a book
And I saw a picture of a guy fried up above his knees
I said I can relate
Cause lately I've been thinking of combustication as a welcomed vacation from.
The burdens of the planet earth, like gravity, hypocrisy, and the perils of being in 3-D...
And thinking so much differently.
Pardon me while I burst into flames.
I've had enough of the world, and it's people's mindless games
Pardon me while I burn, and rise above the flame
Pardon me, pardon me. I'll never be the same.
Never be the same...yeah.
Pardon me while I burst into flames.
Pardon me, pardon me, pardon me.
So pardon me while I burst into flames.
I've had enough of the world, and it's people's mindless games
So pardon me while I burn, and rise above the flame
Pardon me, pardon me. I'll never be the same.
Pardon me, never be the same. Yeah

One of my favorite songs ever. Brings back my middle school days.
I remember hearing this song all the time on the rock stations.. They don't seem to play it anymore.
God I was 18-19 when I got really into Incubus. I saw them live in Irvine literally the day before I left for basic training and my life changed forever. They are such a special band to me.
