Most of these nations were not interested in the indigenous cultures but self-interest. Even many yrs after slavery. Growing up I've encountered many Caucasians / Asians / Arabs etc who didn't allow their children to be submerged in the local culture and they went to separate private schooling too. So this is why it's amazing to see one born/raised in the Caribbean that speaks like and is immersed in the culture of the ppl. And that doesn't mean they have to let go of their parent's cultures, languages either.
I went to my friend's mom's funeral, and a Asian gentleman stood up to say a few words and the d place went deathly silent after he started to speak. He was straight Jamaican, that was so amusing to me. That was my first time seeing that.🤣🤣 very surprising
We were vacationing in Jamaica and met this tall, blonde yt woman who we all assumed was American. Once she opened her mouth to speak we were in shock because if you closed your eyes you would swear that you were talking to a native Jamaican. Her parents are Dutch but she was born and raised on the 🏝. The moral, don't judge a book by its cover 😂😂

i love being part of a Jamaican family. they’re such good, kind people. very genuine, not two faced, and when they love you, they truly show it. my soon to be wife is a 1st generation Jamaican American, and her family is absolutely goated. i get embraced every time we have family gatherings, and greeted like i am truly loved and accepted. all in all, people should strive to treat others the way most Jamaicans treat others. bless up ❤
