The way Katherine could transform from a cat to a human or vice versa reminds me of Animorphs back in the day. Like Kat, it’s interesting considering the characters are teenagers with the ability to transform into wild animals or pets.
would have been fun if she kept that ability after turning good. perhaps to spy on the villains (Easier as a cat than a ranger) or to get out of danger and hide if she was hurt. Maybe her communicator was lost/damagned and she couldn't teleport away or call for help.

At the beginning of season 3, Rita's brother, Rito, destroys the Thunderzords (from season 2), and as a result, the original Dino Power Coins are damaged beyond repair. The Rangers seek Ninjor, creator of the Power Coins, who gives them new Ninja Coins, providing them with the even more powerful Ninjazords. The Ninja powers (called Ninjetti only in the movie) are the forms that the Rangers took when they were fighting the Tengas, and they would usually morph into their Ranger suits to fight the monster on the ground and in the subsequent Megazord fight. When in their ninja forms, the Rangers had additional abilities/techniques that were only used in this form. These included super speed, cloning, underground movement, replacement/suit decoy trick, laser power, mind control, smoke screen, giant mode, merging, and slide teleportation. Although the ninja powers make the Rangers more powerful than when they are unmorphed, they are weaker than their Mighty Morphin Powers. One behind-the-scenes reason for the ninja suits was to decrease the unmorphed fights and lessen the "violence." When they are fully-morphed, they are typically stronger, faster, and more agile than average, and they also have sidearms (swords, guns) and/or individual weapons that can combine together to form a larger weapon (cannon, blaster). Also, Rangers are given motorcycles for long-distance travel. So, the ninja powers are the in-between level of powers for the rangers that had more power than when they were unmorphed but less than when they were morphed. An extra power that the Rangers were given near the end of season 3 was the Metallic Armor, which is a shiny, glittery coat that covers the Rangers suits. When the Tengas became too strong (making the Ninja Powers obsolete), Alpha and Zordon created it to help the rangers in a battle. It gave the Rangers enhanced attacks/speed/strength, resistance to injury, and magical spells. The power comes directly from the Morphin' Grid and can't be used outside the Earth's atmosphere.
Raeimarie Hence why we saw significantly less of the Power Weapons in season 3. I only remember one instance in which they used their Blade Blasters - I think it was in “Master Vile and the Metallic Armor” Part 3 when they had to blast thru the rust around the Megazords. Tommy only used Saba maybe 2 or 3 times.
It’s debatable whether or not Rito actually destroyed the Thunderzords or if it was more the result of the power accelerator overloading. Alpha flooded the Zords with so much morphing grid energy when they were under extreme duress that they blew the Zords to hell and blew out the control consoles in the Command Center. They damaged the Dino Coins by overloading their ability to tap the morphin grid and broke the morpher buckle containing the coins (hence why in “Always a Chance,” Adam’s Dino morpher is sporting cracks in it). The coins can still initiate a morph, but only temporarily and the uncontrolled power would cook a person’s insides. It nearly KILLED Adam.

Gavin Martin Yes, but the original Dino coins still existed, as we saw in “Always a Chance,” “Forever Red,” “Once a Ranger,” and “Dimensions in Danger.” Adam, Jason, Adam again, and Rocky invoked the power of their dinosaurs instead of the ninja powers to morph. And by the time of “FR,” Jason has probably had sufficient time to get the morpher repaired.
The name Ninjetti was actually only a thing in the movie, with Dulcea. In the series they were just the Ninja Ranger Powers.
Ninjetti sounds cooler so im willing to give cat a pass on that

The Ninja Ranger Power was a secondary power for ninja Technique stuff. I remember that Catherine's first power ranger episode since October 1995 I started Kindergarten and was 5. Catherine did appeared as a black cat once in Zeo in Adam's Dream episode It Came From Angel Grove disguised as a Witch. Aisha's parents were only seen once in Season 3 episode A Brush With Destiny where Kimberly got to stay being a ranger since her parents moved.

You should go back to the beginning & watch Day of the Dumpster (1st episode ever). See young Austin, Thuy, David, Amy Jo & Walter in full baby face glory!

Ninjetti powers were mainly used to fight the tengas bc they were stronger foot soldiers and the rangers needed a boost
When people thought Kimberly and Tommy were going to get together for life and it ended up being Kat and Tommy.
We got this conformation in Power Rangers Ninja Steel when its revealed that they are married with a child.
I am one of the people who still believes Kimberly got with Skull and Kimberly is the mother of Spike.
Kat snatching Kim's man was iconic. Kat was hung up on Tommy but assumed nothing would ever happen cuz he was taken, but then Kim left and Kat made herself REAL comfortable next to him. Love it.

That CGI looks better than a lot of today's CGI. It also helped that CGI wasn't heavily relied on they still used practical effects.

kat was one of my favorite characters on the show. And the fijrst character to become a ranger after becoming a villain. Others like Karone and Merrick wouldn't happen til years later. I was surprised evil Kat never came back though aside from clones. She did a lot of damage to the team that affected most of the rest of the season.. stealing ninjor, falconzord, kim's coin, tommy.. .. if she'd been an evil ranger even for an episode that could have been a fun arc too.

I remember watching all of these episodes when they aired. I was in elementary school at the time & I was living in the Central Valley in California. Other than growing up on Godzilla (G-fan 1st & foremost btw 😉), Power Rangers was the other suitmation series I was into.

I did find the episode the One Time we meet Aisha's parents. The episode is called A Brush With Destiny, Season 3 Ep 8. It's a very cute little Kimberly episode. Definitely recommend for a watch

Another fun episode Kat and Nakia it's always a pleasure to watch you both and to help promote this aswell. The Shark Cycles were the vehicles the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers used in Season 3 they created out of the fossilized fin of a great prehistoric shark, these lightweight and powerful motorcycles transport the Rangers to action in record time. Although while the Red and White cycles were based on a basic Shark most likely a Great White Shark the Black and Blue Shark Cycles are based on hammerhead sharks, while the Yellow and Pink Shark Cycles are based on sawsharks. The Ninjetti powers were added to the show so the Ninjetti suits from the movie could be re-used in the show and to make the fights more exciting. and yes Kat you are correct Kimberly's moved away to France as seen in the Season 3 Episode (A Brush With Destiny) and she ends up staying with Aisha and her family. Not sure if it was Doug who did Ninjor or not. Most believe it was Kurt/Kim Strauss who voiced him. He voiced Scorpius in Lost Galaxy and Jinxer in Lightspeed Rescue.
Correct that Kimberly had moved in with Aisha since KImberly's Parents had moved away. We briefly got to see the Parents that Aisha had but it was very brief. They were just there to offer an invite for Kimberly to stay with them and Aisha.

Awesome episode of it and i can’t wait the next episode of it . Ninjetti power were from the power rangers movie in 1995 And the original powers were from the sentai aka zyuranger and dairanger . Even the original powers were made by ninjor give to zordon and zordon give it to the rangers .

Kat was kinda like the American answer to the Sentai counterpart (which MMPR was using their footage at the time) to Kakuranger's Hanarangers, which were female ninjas, who were created from cats. I thought Kat was going to be the new henchwoman, similar to Scorpina, for Zedd and Rita. Never thought she would eventually replace Kim.

I guess the ninja powers were powered by the rangers ninja coins which were the falcon, ape, bear, frog, crane, and the wolf. They were more so for quick battles. The ninja coins were used to help bring back the rangers Mighty Morphin' powers too. I'm not sure if the ninja powers were brought in partly because the producers didn't want the actors doing their own stunts or something.

Before, I thought Katherine was one of Zedd and Rita's monsters because of the transformation from cat to girl, vice-versa,and cat monster. It turns out that she is really human and under Rita's spell like Tommy. Kat maybe wearing Kimberly's hand me downs, but what was Kat's was the hair wave when turn to human form, the metallic armor, the shark cycle, co-pilot the white Shogun Zord, and Tommy as 2 different Red Rangers. Katherine was sexy back in the mid 90s. A blonde goddess. ❤❤❤❤
I think the idea of having Katherine Hillard transforming into a cat was taken from 忍者戦隊カクレンジャー ( _Ninja Sentai Kakuranger_ )that featured an evil team of all-female rangers that were created by ガシャドクロ (Gashadokuro, 餓者髑髏) Rito Revolto's Sentai counterpart, that he created from cats known as 花のくノ一組 (Flowery Kunoichi Team) and also called the ハナレンジャー (Hanarangers).

I always wondered if Kat lost the ability to turn into a cat when she broke Rita’s spell. We never saw her do it again, so I assume yes, but I don’t think it was ever confirmed.
I think it was only Rita's magic that made her able to turn into a cat.
The Power Rangers powers they could only morph, but Ninjetti they can turn into ninjas and then morph. So in that form they had two forms of Ranger Powers.
The ninja suits were a way to try and calm parents' complaints about the violence in the show, the unmorphed scenes in particular. It's one thing for kids to imitate someone fighting in a costume, it's another thing completely to actually see the actors themselves fighting and imitate them. And of course, new costumes, more toys they could sell.
It was all about the cool new toys!
I hope you two watch more season 3 episodes. I love watching Cat trying to explain the plot to Nakia when Nakia has no reference for what is happening.

So I had a few VHS tapes growing up, but as far as TV, I mostly remember watching starting with "Lost Galaxy." But when I remember watching this arc when it was replayed later on on ABC Family and loving it when I was about 10!

I actually had a white cat & had to name him PC. I told everyone that PC was short for princess but it was actually from Power Rangers. I actually messaged Catherine on Instagram and sent her a photo of my car PC. Unfortunately he got out one day & I could never find him. :( I was so sad he was only 6 months old :( I’m sure someone found him & kept him. :(

One of Zordon's main rules was never escalate a battle unless you're forced to. The Rangers could easily dispatch Putties unmorphed and even Goldar at times.
But with the Tengas being stronger (especially after Master Vile arrived), the Ninjetti powers were seen as an in between mode to help the Rangers with not too desperate situations. And speaking of Master Vile: as Catherine already knows, the Ninjetti powers were swept under the rug as soon as he arrived with no further mention of them other than Ninjor appearing in four of his episodes. Ooh, I hope you can review those some day!! :)
I have no idea if Bulk & Skull were still in high school in S3. I remember them being at the school in uniform but never in class. I later on assumed they were a year or two older than the rangers.
They were still in school but when zeo aired i think they graduated off screen and was security at the school
they were in the same class as the rangers in mmpr though. maybe they ended up graduating early like billy did in zeo. Perhaps a program with the police department since they joined it in season 3. they did almost leave angel grove in zeo but i guess changed their minds cause it was never brought up again.
@@Mike0908 When I was in high school I had classes with students one or two years ahead so that's a reason why I thought they were older. Plus, they made Bulk (moreso) & Skull out to be Neanderthals so I doubt they graduated early lol!
i'd have probably thought they'd been held back a year. be younger then the rangers myself. but since they had already graduated at least by the seond half of turbo when they were no longer monkeys they probably had to graduate by zeo.. either that or dropped out and got ged off screen.

The differences between the dino/thunder powers and ninjetti powers are...basically everything but the suits. From meta perspective the ninjetti comes from kakuranger sentai footage while season one comes from zyuranger...season two's thunder powers are from dairanger sentai.
