When you're in an abusive relationship, they convince you that nobody will want you, or support you, or care about you, and it's just not true. Healthy relationships are real and attainable, and you do not have to be on your own against this.

It's very interesting the impact she has- the ability to ring so true. It was almost 7 years ago and I heard her sing "If you Gonna Go" and it hit me like a ton of bricks. And I did. I left. And I'll be damned, it was a change that was long overdue. And she helped me find it.

This is the best thing I've seen/heard in years. "Thing" as the video is almost as good as the song which is almost as good as the lyrics which are almost as good as the arrangement which is almost as good as the overall performance which reveals different levels of genius on each listen.
Every time you hear it it just gets better. And I've heard it about 200 times in a few days. About as perfect as a song can get.

I've loved this song since shortly after it was released and I saw the video on CZcams. I hadn't really ever been aware of her music with her former band The Be Good Tanyas, but I like that sort of roots music they did, it was good stuff with amazing vocal harmonies. But this song, this whole album....amazingly breathtaking. I should have commented this 7 years ago. This song became my anthem too, after ending an insidiously abusive relationship with a narcissist / psychopath, and then being covertly stalked and harassed for years afterwards. Some days it was the only thing that gave me the strength to carry on, all the fighting and defending myself and having to bend over backwards trying to keep myself safe. I need to say, and this is a long time in coming, thanks Frazey, for this song, and thanks for being you. You're beautiful,just gorgeous, and your song totally rocks. The inclusion of those brothers from Al Green's band in Memphis was genius as well, what a sound you all created together, so soulful, such beautiful melodies, I'm just in awe of you and your musical talent and voice. Bravo!!!!!! Oh, and I almost forgot - love the flowered jumpsuit - it looks fabulous on you. All of your wardrobe in the video was awesome. Peace and love always, sister.
