I may do this in the future.... However I'm working on a 1980 f350 2 wheel drive flat bed..... 4.9 with a C6 currently

So I have a 351 and the same atomic as you remove but I also have a brogwarn 4 speed that was bolted to a 300 4.9 was wondering if you knew if it the same

It depends on which version of 351 you have. There was the Cleveland Windsor and modified. Only one of the three has a small block bellhousing pattern which is what you need to run your 300i-6 transmission. Finding out which 351 you have will tell you for sure, but it's likely you'll need to find a trans with a big block bellhousing

Did you need to get a manual stater

I don’t remember swapping starters. It should be the same one I had

I’d convert to the 9 inch axle in back

we actually just did a zf5 transmission swap on the truck. The gear spacing is much better. I agree, a 9 inch is a much stronger axle. I much prefer the ease of maintenance on them as well.
