I grew up in London and when I was 14/15 (Back in 93/94) I used to watch 'Yo MTV Raps' and that's where I'd hear the latest tunes... This was before free downloads/rips - I'd record the shows on VHS then make lists of my favourite tracks, save my pocket money and head to the Black areas of the city like Brixton, Deptford & Catford to find what I could in the record shops (Import section usually)... As a redhead in my Miami Dolphins jacket I stood out but the shop workers/owners knew I had knowledge and we'd chat about artists and listen to vinyl records... The good old days! In my humble opinion, the best days/years for rap music... Today, I've had the urge to find a lot of my favourite songs here on CZcams and it's confirmed my belief that after 1997, this genre massively declined... I'll listen to artists like Naughty by Nature, Lords of the Underground, Ice Cube, 2Pac, Gang Starr and the Fu-Schnickens etc... Until I draw my last breath... This track always brings a smile to my face of memories 9 years old summer 95 and then a frown cuz i can never relive it...Treach has to be one of the most underappreciated mcs ever ..and Naughty by Nature are underappreciated period with Kay Gee being one of my favorite producers and Vinny always got me hype it's just too bad he's not on more of their songs or at least that he wasn't constantly in Treach's shadow.. only way this song could be any better imo, even in performances and their club scene in Who's The Man the camera is on Treach even when Vinny is rapping but then again on this classic Treach pretty much effortlessly disintegrated the mic with his Dragon Flow so actually it's probably better that Treach has the track to himself...I know i ain't the only one that gets chills(even in 100°+ temperatures)listening to Treach effortlessly flow,bruh makes this track live up to it's name cuz 27 years later his flows always make me feel it and it's something about hearing a dope mc drop Quality Lyrics that has me rubbing my hands together and thirsting for more and that's even with them giving us 3 solid verses(each one longer than all the lyrics we get in alot of hip hop tracks these days) on most tracks..i know i can't be the only one that gets that feeling from cuts like this
