  • I thought it was worth having another go at the chrome on this vintage Star Wars Death Star Droid as new paints have arrived since I recorded the first video.
And this time I am very happy with the result. Check out how I got on.

I LOVE that you revisited that Death Star Droid! You're like a scientist that keeps revising his work. It amazes me that you were patient enough to wait for a month to finish up the project. Your great success makes me want to find one in need of repair and do it myself. It also makes me want to buy a modern DSD and make it look more like a vintage.

To protect the Molotow Chrome finish it can be coated with an acrylic resin. I use Vallejo's Gloss Varnish 70.510. I find it's easy to use and gives very good results with hardly any dulling of the chrome.
Also the Molotow liquid can be brushed or air brushed on rather than drawing with the pen for easier coverage.

As far as comics go, I NEVER bought them because I expected them to go up in price and I was going to sell my collection to the "next sucker." I bought for characters, storylines, and creators I LIKED.
When you buy something JUST to collect it and sell for a mark-up, I can't see how you're enjoying it.
I got out of comics nearly a decade ago because I wasn't enjoying the stories they were making.
Right now, if I buy anything comic-related, it's a reprint in trade and hardcover and it's always something I enjoyed in the past, a creator or storyline I like. 99.9% of the time these are comics that were produced well before the 21st century -- 1980s or earlier. I have no use for the nihilism in modern mainstream superhero comics right now. It's awful! I also don't care for the mentality of most active creators and the constant pissing on the fanbase.
