Bullet Journaling is the only thing I have been able to find that has been able to keep me sane managing my Supply Room (U.S. Army) going to college and keeping my home life together. The Journal is the Sword and Shield I take into combat with my forgetfulness and scatterbrain on the daily. I was really exited when I saw the email about this, and got my hopes dashed on the rocks when I missed it. did Ryder happen to mention when stock will catch back up? anyways, thanks for reading, your attention is greatly appreciated.

What bullet journaling means to me is that it's a hybrid planner and diary, which marries my analytic/planning side and my reflective/instrospectivve side. For me, that's the power of the bullet journal, as I use it. I still journal in a traditional diary, but making quick notations in my bullet journal allows me to capture things I want to journal more at length in my diary, at a later time.

Bullet journaling means a lot to me. It’s been absolutely essential for managing my ADHD. Everything from generally keeping track of life events, college assignments, goal setting/tracking, and things I’m thankful for. Bullet journaling has been instrumental in taking control of things that I normally don’t feel in control over and improving my physical and mental health.

Hello. I'm new to journaling. I've looked at the 1st edition bullet journal as well as many videos including the Creators. I'm 70 years old and to say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. I'm no artist and everyone's journals are so beautiful. I have watched your videos previously and questioned if I would be able to grasp the bullet journal concept. Not convinced that I could, I opted out, while secretly wishing I had a bullet journal that would work for me. After watching this video, I feel encouraged enough that I would like to stop wishing I had a bullet journal to seeing myself working with one. I visited your website and I must say that the templates you have available have given me that little extra push to believing that I can to this too. Of course working with the new and improved Bullet Journal will make the journey exciting. Bullet Journaling, to me, means conquering my fear and moving forward.Thank you. Bullet journaling has really been an exploration of my character, personality, habits, etc. All too often, I think, we're too quick to say things like, well I'm a big introvert, I'm a messy person, I'm too spacey and can't really pay attention for too long, etc. etc. And I wanted to stop myself and really explore the alternative, and the ways that it would suit me. It really clicked for me when I realized that bullet journaling isn't for a particularly specific type of person, it's a tool or system that you use in ways that fit your personality, to enhance those and various other areas of your life. I know it all sounds too philosophical, but honestly I consider myself a very messy organizer, a visual learner, a jot-it-down-memorizer, and once I was okay with that, and being okay abandoning things that didn't work for me and being okay with trying new things temporarily, did I start becoming more consistent. Because at that point it became a thrill to explore other parts of me and what I enjoy doing and continuing to do.
Sorry for the longwinded answer, but this has become a topic I'm very passionate about, and that truly surprises me.

I found Bullet journaling a few years back when I was majorly depressed. Surprisingly, the practice of bullet journaling was a large help for me to get out of that season of life. Thankfully, these days I am not depressed, and now Bullet journaling is occasionally a artistic outlet and always a tool to help me from having things fall in the cracks. Its been an awesome productivity tool during this pandemic, also.

Bullet journaling is one of the only things that qualify as "consistent" in my routine nowadays. I'm self-employed, work comes and goes and I'm struggling with many things. BUT one thing I know for sure is that, when I check the third bookmark on my Bullet Journal, I find my daily log and I'm impressed by how I've managed to keep it going throughout 2020. To me, that's a huge achievement, and I'm happy to have this habit stand out amidst the chaos of the times we're living.
The consistency of bullet journaling transcended last month to another practice that I resumed after five years of inactivity: going to the gym and doing karate. I hope that I can add many more things to this brief list in 2021 (and probably start a collection with them ;P ).
Thanks a lot for your videos, Matt. I've been following you for a long time now and your content has brought me a lot of good vibes, motivation, and joy. You're a great communicator and I want to see you grow even more, especially now that you're doing this as a full-time job! Keep it up, and thank you for putting up this giveaway!

I started bullet journaling almost 5 years ago. I was the person who wanted to make it pretty and look like all the beautiful, stylized bullet journals of CZcams. Artsy-fartsy lasted for a short time, and the bullet journal continued on in a slightly pared down fashion. Jan’s Journal V2.0 still had a lot of color, panache and flair, and yet it became much more useful and more of a daily companion. As time went on, I noticed how my life was flowing a little easier. Projects were getting accomplished...even those old, unfinished projects so neatly tucked away for months or even years. Over the past year Journal V 2.1 emerged. It has far less color, yet has everything I need. It is minimal, yet it holds my life. I can’t imagine a day without it. This notion of a bullet journal has morphed from a creative project to a more organized life, and from an art project to a friend I cant live without. My bullet journal is my anti-technology, yet it holds the same draw: I don’t know how I would ever live without it since I have experienced it. The thing that most blows my mind is that I have never kept a journal consistently in my entire life, and it spans a number of decades. Now, I find myself lost without my journal.
That is what my journaling means to me. Either that explanation, or...”Simply Life Altering”
    .
I learned all I know about bullet journaling on CZcams. I followed all the fancy, frilly, absolutely stunningly gorgeous journals for quite a while. I got many good and useful tips and some very fun layouts from those videos. Recently I stumbled upon you and your videos..and at the perfect time in my life where I am simplifying and “minimalising”. Thank you for doing what you do. You chose wisely, Matt This niche suits you.

My 3 kids home, husband at home, working my full time social work job remotely and also having ADHD... my sanity needed help. This bujo community has saved my sanity. Bullet journaling has changed my life, quite literally. I started 3 years ago and ofc had to experiment a lot, fail a lot, before actually figuring out how to do it in a way that made sense to me.
I was in a rough patch, when I started, utterly overwhelmed with academics and in complete disarray. The bullet journal method, combined with CZcamsrs like you who encourage people to just make it work, instead of making it pretty, slowly started putting my life in order. I was preparing for a very difficult exam then and I'm glad to report that I made it through, with pretty good results and I don't think I'd have been able to do it had it not been for the way bullet journalling organized my life.
So thanks for showing us that messy doesn't equal unproductive and it's ok to have an ugly bujo as long as it works for you. Literally changed my life ❤❤❤

Hi everyone. I discovered bullet journaling in quarantine to help with my anxiety. I’ve seen so many beautiful layouts and felt inspired. However, because of my need for perfection, I’ve adopted a minimalist style. Along with this channel and others sharing their experiences with bullet journaling, I have been able to explore my style. One of the things I struggle with is my ADD. As a Mental health therapist, I have found the additional benefits of bullet journaling to layout my day without excess notes everywhere. I was also promoted in my job because of finding bullet journaling. Along with this, I can see the self-care benefits. While I still am a work in progress, bullet journaling is something I advocate for in my daily practice for a more healthy mindset.

Not only does it keep me on track so I don't loose any of my tasks pertaining to my multiple businesses but it also means I can have thing that matter to me in my personal life everywhere I go. It's my journal for writing down my feelings, it keeps track of my events, who I've seen, what we did, meals I've been making, things I want to do someday, dreams I've had, notes on my spiritual practice, photos from adventures, the first snow of the year. Bullet Journaling has done so much for my productivity. As I got older, my memory was starting to fail me. I was also taking on much more responsibility at work. I couldn't remember dates, activities, events, or decisions made during meetings. I stumbled on bullet journaling method book by accident at Barnes and Noble one day. This book has done so much for me, that I am trying to get my daughters to start journaling. It is so nice to be able to review dates and events, or just feelings that I was feeling 6 months ago. I use it to track my goals, and see if I'm progressing or staying stagnate. I'm on my 4th book of journaling. I find it just so relaxing to write and read in it. I am very happy to have found your youtube channel! I searched heaven and earth to find the perfect planner that can satisfy all my needs. I have tried custom order planners, various shape and size of planners, and so on. It's flexible, expandable, and so simple to use, yet you can customize it to so many different ways to fit your needs. I am a full time software engineer tracking multiple projects, need to take many classes for work, starting Masters degree next year, need to eat better and exercise more, need to keep track of many household tasks, keep track of home projects for hobbies, and so on. I've been using bullet journal method on the existing weekly planners and working on setting up new journals for work and home for 2021. I am so excited to start fully on bullet journal method. I watched Greys Anatomy and really loved the idea of have it something that my kids could look over one day and see what life was like for me! Today I see bullet journaling as my way of helping other college students. I just finished my first semester of my senior year and I have a 4.0. Thanks for a closer look at the newest version of the Bullet Journal. I will add an intention spread to my new journal in 2021. I started using the BuJo with a huge lined hardcover notebook. Transitioning to dot-grid notebooks was amazing because of the freedom it gave me to organize the page in ways that fit my brain. With ADHD, I need a format that doesn't hem me in by allows me to keep the core features of my planning and organizing and switch up the layout or modify what had stopped working for me. Your videos have helped me consider new ways of thinking about my time blocks and notetaking. - I'm not going to cards though since loose paper is a battle zone for me. Indexing has been life-changing. I've gone back to high school journals and beyond (I'm 65) and added indexes wherever I could find blank pages. When writing today, if I think of a story or a particular period of my life, I can glance at the indexes and discover if I wrote about that close to the moment it occurred. Vital for a writer. Thanks for being part of my journey Matt.

It took a long time for me to start bullet journaling. I loved the simplicity of it but every time I sat down to use it I could hear my mom saying what a waste of time it was. She never actually said that to me but I was convinced she would. Imagine my surprise when she said the opposite. So I started and stopped bullet journaling for three years before I finally made it through my first full year of bullet journaling. This past November marked that occasion. It’s been awesome! I haven’t noticed that I’m more productive for bullet journaling but my peace of mind has improved. Before I wasn’t even aware of the mental strain of trying to keep up with everything between planners I’d stop using and google calendar. Now that I’m bullet journaling that stress I wasn’t even aware of has been lifted. With everything else that went on in 2020 not having to worry about keeping up with everything was nice.

I can’t tell you how many notebooks/planners/digital planners/digital task managers I have poured my hard earned dollars for to manage my stress and up my productivity level. It’s the only method I have been able to make it a consistent practice in my life that lasted longer than a couple months.
I did end of straying to a TN system because I got too ambitious after I started to get more confident and bujo and then ended up getting lost and now I fell out of a routine again.

I look at my bullet journal as a body part I didn't know I had been missing all this time. Before, I was "blindly wandering in the desert of life" with my ADHD as it were.
Even now, with several years of practice in, I still feel the instant relief of offloading my thoughts onto paper... knowing they will be there at the ready whenever I need to come back.... giving me even more relief.
To close, I like to describe life with my bullet journal like this:
This is my bullet journal. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My bullet journal is my best friend. It is my life and I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my bullet journal is useless. Without my bullet journal, I AM USELESS.

When I began using it, I noticed how I was able to get more things done and keep tracking of everything I was doing for work and my personal life. Less stuff fell through the cracks. To sum it up, having a bullet journal keeps me calm.

I've found that throughout my life I keep coming back to writing. Before 2019 it was in the form of diaries, to do lists, notes, letters that weren't ment to be sent out etc. A friend once told me that I'm like his grandmother - I write everything down because otherwise I forget. With bullet journaling I found that I can do all of those things in one place. Sure, it has many very real and practical uses in organising tasks, thoughts, lists. However the most meaningful experience to me would be being able to collect and document different aspects of my reality - all the diverse things that seem to be important right here and right now.

I’ve practiced word art by writing a word or phrase to document each day which has become a historical record of my life. It would be awesome to continue planning my life with one of the new bullet journals. Thanks for another great video, Matt!!

Big fan of the channel! Congrats on your recent mile stone. You’ve worked hard and it is well deserved.
To me bullet journaling is about getting rid of distractions, embracing minimalism, and taking control of my life. I am a huge tool and app person. I love tinkering and finding the perfect “productivity system” to change my life. However this often ends up with me spending weeks switching from app to app, changing set ups, adding views, customizing filters, playing with settings. And of course, I never get anything done.
The bullet journal helps me to embrace minimalism and only hold on to those practices that contribute positively to my life. It helps me cut out all of the distractions and get down to what is essential. Through this, I am able to take control of my life and create value. In essence, I’m able to use the bullet journal for what it’s supposed to be: a tool. A means to an end and not the end itself.
Thanks for all your great content and keep up the good work!

I'm new to bullet journaling. I only started earlier this year. I was becoming overwhelmed with projects and my brain was literally frying. It led me to having short temper with my family and dropping the ball on multiple appointments.
I got the simple advice of writing my day to day from my mentor. I took it and started doing research on it. When I finally got to writing out things in a regular journal, it wasnt working for me. I would worry about blank pages and the pre made templates.
With further research on journaling methods, I found out about BuJo. I made the absolute sin of ordering a journal without numbered pages, but I'm still using it every day and I number it as i go along.
Since starting, me life has changed completely. I'm way more productive, spend more time with my family, am able to make good daily progress on my projects, and it has made incorporating other good habits into my life a lot easier.

As a person with ADHD that wasn’t diagnosed until adulthood, bullet journaling gave me hope that I could finally, for real this time, manage to keep some sort of planner so I could stop forgetting literally every appointment, task, or event in my life, due to its inherently forgiving, build as you go nature. Before picking up the book bundle special edition two years ago, I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to actually *DO* with a planner, and my closet was littered with planners from years past filled with several weeks or even a few months of schedules, and then forgotten for a few weeks, and abandoned in shame as the wasted pages stared balefully at me. With the BuJo system, if I got overwhelmed with life and couldn’t keep up my daily reflection and planning for a bit, I could just start up on the next clean page without any wasted blank pages haunting me. As a casually creative person, and someone who craves organization but also flexibility and variety, I could fiddle around with different layouts, add some simple artwork, and not be confined to and particular layout or system if I didn’t like it. As a fountain pen and stationery enthusiast, the premium paper was perfectly suited for my water-based inks, and could even stand up to some gentle watercolor painting. With this system, I was able to make the single most apparent and significant advancement in my life after my diagnosis, and begin to learn how to harness and organize my thoughts and ideas and obligations, get them on paper that I could actually find again when needed, find a creative outlet, and not only feel a sense of forward motion so desperately lacking in my life before, but be able to track and refer back to my progress as proof when I felt discouraged-look at how far you’ve come, self! You CAN do the thing! As I raise my now five-year-old son (who also has ADHD), I will be teaching him how to use a bullet journal with me as part of my mission to prevent the same three decades’ worth of scattered thinking turn into scattered living, teaching him to be aware of his struggles in order to make plans to overcome them, and to find his strengths to develop them into superpowers, keeping a record of his journey so he can look back on his own progress whenever setbacks leave him reeling.
...Uh. This was NOT meant to get this deep lol. Time to go to bed lol!

What I love about this method is that it's so customizable and can be changed as needed. I think what you mentioned about intention is important as well. Bullet Journaling gives us an opportunity to record and reflect and realize what's important. In addition, until I read Ryder's book, I'd never heard of "Decision Fatigue" and it made me structure my day differently and recognize when it was happening, so that I could go do something automatic and not try to power through and get frustrated not being able to get something accomplished.

I am a bullet journal addict. I have my daily use journal that keeps me accountable and focused. In fact, it was your videos that inspired me to strip down my journalling to a more realistic and functional tool. I do have a journal for my projects (which is more for notes, tasks, sketching and management), but again I focus on the functionality than the elaborate designs. However, when it comes to my personal and wellness journal I take a more artistic approach because I want to use it for reflecting on my progression. In fact, it is themed as if it was a D&D spellbook with maps, "spells" (aka: meal ideas and workout routines) and my "stats".
I think journaling freedom. It allows you to simply your life to increase productivity, but it also allows you the opportunity to release your creativity. The possibilities are endless.
