I think it goes both ways. Not just knowing the Indian guy but also the Filipina girl. If he is serious, he has to follow our tradition too and that is to know the whole family and get along with them. It is also disrespectful for The family of the Filipina girl if you do not ask for her hands to marry her. And it is matter of choice too. And it is the decision of two people. You just have to deal with the situation in a very appropriate and sensible way that no one will be hurt. If you hurt anybody and so many are becoming hindrances or kontrabidas during the process of your relationship, ay, might as well not waste time to pursue or continue the relationship as it will never be successful. It will just become so stressful.
My take is, if the man really loves you, no matter what the ethnicity and backgrounds are, he will cross the bridge and face all the challenges he may face in the way just to win you coz ‘love conquers all’ right? Same with the woman. The keys to a good relationship are communication, understanding, trust, and most of all, is respect... this is just my opinion based on my own experience being married with a guy who is not a Filipino. I’m in a relationship with an indian man for 3 years now, we’ve met in Abu Dhabi where we both working together, we are really different in all ways, in language,also I am Roman Catholic he’s hindu, he’s vegetarian and I am not, he’s the oldest and only son and I’m the youngest in the family but we always compromise and meet halfway and I think that’s the important one in every relationship . It’s just the matter of understanding, never in our duration of being together that he questioned my belief and lifestyle, he never ask me to change and same goes for him, always respect each other differences and I really believe that an indian guy is really serious with you is when they let their family know about you, they are traditional and family oriented people so when they do it means they’re really so serious about you. He’s in Australia now so we’ve been in ldr for a year but still getting stronger and faithful with each other, we got engaged in india last September and now I’m back again here to prepare for our hindu wedding for this weekend. And planning our church wedding in Philippines after this. His parents are very understanding also and never ask me to change my religion, they’re bringing me to church sometimes, I’m eating indian foods but they are considerate enough to bring me to fast foods sometimes so I can eat chicken or any non-veg food that I want😄 I’ve been living with his parents while he’s still in abroad working. Everything so cool and I feel like home in India. We still have a long way though. Mine was a roller coaster ride with my Indian man. He is an Engineer and lives in Pune but Varanasi was his hoemtown. Been chatting with him for a while and later on became honest with me that he cant marry me as he is bound to family, he has to marry someone his parents will choose for him, at first i thought it was a joke but later on i learned that it was true. Our relationship was kept a secret for he doesnt want his family to know that he is having a relationship with a foreigner . We have to be careful everytime we chat as we dont want his family to notice him always in his phone, they might ask. But this fella will always chat even when having tea , even with his mom in his side , i frequently scold him though not to chat when around family members to avoid confrontation on his family if they found out about me but will just tell me "it's okay love". Makulit na sweet. I told him to just let me go because our relationship status is hurting me , it is making me sad but he said no. And he said " no matter if i am married to another woman, i will always love you now and always, you are my first and last." Our monthsary was on the 29th, last jan 29 was our monthsary, i sent him a video reading my last message for him and all, and he sent me a video as well ( he was crying inside cab from work saying sorry that he can't marry me and he is a bad boy for that, according to him ) . i tried to cut ties with him like block him from whatsapp , but whenever i do that, he calls in my mobile from office . We are still chatting right now, still in a relationship with him ( stupid right? ) , and i am just trying to support him on what he will do, like if he gets married this year, i will be there on his wedding day or if not, we agree to meet before his marriage or we will meet after his marriage with the wife as well. I am like the Girlfriend turned bestfriend. I respect his family a lot and his culture and will not want to urge him to turn against his family as they went through a lot with his sister's love marriage ( became court case, complicated topic )that is why he was restricted to be in a love marriage ( his family dont like love marriage ). But regardless of that , i love India, and i love you both ( Abhi and Jayann). #chooseToLove

Hi, I'm in that kind of relationship right now. Last month he said that his an Hindu and they have arranged a marriage I was shocked but para akong nabuhusan ng malamig na tubig, pero tiniis ko.. sabi niya his parents are looking for his sister's pair but parang di nag absorb sa akin. last week engaged na ng sister niya doon ako nalungkot kasi totoo pala talaga... As for me. Weve been LDR for 5mos and all went well. He introduce me in his closest friends but not yet in his family but he share everything about his family , showing me some pictures. And i ask him also about his family practice theyre open for love marriage. Maybe its a good sign also the he picture me to be in his future. All good so far but were not in a rush. He was very patience and have strong personality. So many times ive given up from him coz its very hard to be in LDR but he patch things up. I have also 2yearS indian boyfriend now and what I can say is Indian man is just a quiet or silent lover specially if they are still studying..we are already 2years in love but still his family and friends didn't know yet about us for the reason that he needs to finish his study at first and get a job before everyone know between us which I also understand him. What I love to my boyfriend is he's too much close and full of love to his parents especially to her mom and even to his relatives.💖💖he's not oftenly saying the words "I love you "which I always demands from him but what he said..love is not base on how many times of saying I love you to their lover..and he loves me with his heart and soul but not in a word so no need any words to express how he loves me.. ❤❤❤aguy ko day parang sinampal ako ni kupido. 😅

My boyfriend's family already knows about me but I'm still not sure whether they approve of me or not. After collecting enough courage, I already asked him if there is still a point of going on with our relationship since I know that there is a huge possibility that I am not accepted in their family and that time, I was already willing to let go if ever he'd said that it's pointless. But he reassured me that he was doing everything he can and if his family won't approve, he will make a way for them to accept our relationship because I am the woman he wants to marry. As what you mention it takes courage for them to do all this things but my boyfriend is doing everything he can for us to be legit to his family and he mention his doing this for our future. I don't have a bad experienced to Indian guys, besides they are so friendly and kind. I have a boyfriend who is currently studying Medicine here in Phil. and I just graduated last year and will study medicine next semester. It's very important for me to introduce my boyfriend to my parents as a form of my respect to them. We are in a relationship more than a year already, I understand that he cannot introduce me yet as his gf to his parents as he is still studying here. Is it just right if I will have to demand to my bf that at least his parents should know about me once he go back to India next year?
