    I'm sad it's not fixable and that most people are not interested in such content. Thanks for the video.
    I wouldn't have thought the whole internals are basically completely encased in that epoxy/plastic material. However makes sense considering it runs off 230v directly.
    I'm interested in that light btw. Is it not an LED?

      Agreed :(
      Thank you for watching!
      That small light bulb is a neon glow lamp. They are really cool!

    I am looking for a way to run it on a power bank or USB. Will it heat up if I connect the heating element directly with a 5 or 12v power source or how could I achieve this?

    • @UltimateDIY
      @UltimateDIY Před 2 lety

      No, sadly it will not work. Try to buy something from Thermacell.

      @@UltimateDIY too expansive esp the refills. There should be a way to build a mobile heater.

      There is for sure a way to do it. But I don't think that starting from this wall powered unit.

    may i ask , if the current is going through the resistor ( the light bulb indicqtes current i believe) then why doesnt it heat up?

    • @UltimateDIY
      @UltimateDIY Před 2 měsíci

      The light bulb is in paralel with the heating element, so it works even if that is damaged.

      @@UltimateDIY i am pretty sure they are connected on series ( in my mosquito repellent at least) , because the light bulb requires a resistance in series with it , it can't withstand 220 v

    • @UltimateDIY
      @UltimateDIY Před 2 měsíci

      Then I missunderstood your question. The bulb has a resistor to limit the current. But that one is not the heating element. That rezistor exists just to make the bulb work on 230V. The heating element is in paralel with the bulb (plus it's current limiting resistor).

      @soloplay1319 Před 2 měsíci

      @@UltimateDIY No, you didn't misunderstand my question, the bulb is connected in series with the heating element ( who serves are resistor also) , but the dilemma is that the bulb is working while the heating element isn't, seems like a magical problem!!

    • @UltimateDIY
      @UltimateDIY Před 2 měsíci

      Ok, then clearly yours has a different internal construction, that does not match the one in my video. But, that seems quite weird, as the bulb seen at least in my unit (mini neon pilot light) is not capable of passing enough current to allow the heating element to heat up.

    Neither you repaired the machine not you add any new idea.

      I can upload whatever I want on my channel. If you are smart enough you appreciate the fact that I show this can't be fixed. The fact that you don't like the conclusion is your problem.
