I honestly think the bathroom looks really good. The whole house has a coastal vibe, and the floor tiles in the bathroom actually look like sand when paired with that blue tile, so it's like a beach-themed bathroom!
In the tour, it really evokes standing on a sandy beach and a clear day. They honestly could have added more plants, and it would have given that vibe even more.
What about an "everything is not what it seems" challenge? Where you try to use as many things for something that is not their intended use, have hidden rooms, secret gardens, etc.
I feel like this house is owned by an old couple who mostly know what they want for their design but aren’t quite on the same page. So, like when the wife said she wanted pops of red, her husband was just like, “okay.” And painted the flower boxes bright red
I would love to see them do this challenge again, but without the intermittent reveals. Leaving the reveal to the very end would be much more chaotic. Loved the built in bench in the bedroom, I'll need to steal that hack for my own builds!
This build gives me real house energy. Most people's homes are full of hand me downs and random stuff. We don't get to choose everything we own, and some stuff is good enough, or never gets replaced. It's weirdly ordinary and that's kinda cool!
22:52 i really think the yellow and blue adds to the coastal/beach vibe. Like, the yellow floor tiles is the sand and the blue wall tiles is the ocean or sky. Loved this build, it was surprisingly cohesive!!
I disagree that they look mismatched, but a matchy matchy look would've been overboard. Personally I love the floor and wall tiles together - someone colour theorise it!
New challenge idea!!!!! For each room you spin the wheel and what number you get is the swatch number you have to use for each item in that room, you also do this in black and white so you can’t see the room until you’re done!
Ooh, this would be so chaotic! I love it. You could leave, like, curtains or three knickknacks to be picked for after the reveal to try and make the room more coherent, but I kind of love the idea of just random colour. (I am a huge fan of Bright Colour in my Sim houses though. XD )
I really like how it turned out. It feels really "lived in", but not in a bad way. Do you have any pieces of furniture, knicknacks, or rugs/blankets that don't match ANYTHING in your house, but you either love where you got it or who gave it to you so you can't just toss it? That's what this feels like to me... except the bathroom, but i love beige and blue so...
well technically the yellow and blue is actually giving costal like sand and sea and you could even argue the random pops of brighter colors are seashells 😭
I like the yellow floor and blue walls in the bathroom. It's like sand and water. Also the blue chairs in the kitchen just work! Surprise color combos you may never have thought to use, but they look good.
I love how the build came out, even the color scheme in the whole house was somehow cohesive. The coastal vibes are actually giving beach 💅especially the bedroom and bathroom with the tan tiled floor looking like sand⛱. Down to the pinks and red sprinkled around unexpectedly looked really cute. You Both did Awesome Keep it Up!!! Been following for at least a year 💕 Been here before 1 mil!!🎉🎉🎉
The way the house only kinda matches but has a cohesive blue-yellow-red theme feels like a very lived in place! Maybe 60 years ago it matched perfectly but time has replaced the collection little by little as life went on. In that way its perfect!
I actually really like the yellow floor in the bathroom, looks like sand at the bottom of a reef, the only room i don't like color wise is the outside but you guys did amazing!
A colour theory lesson: (also yes i know Americans spell is color) So the different levels of greys you see, from black to dark white, to white and light gray, aren't different because of the colour. (For example, when they tried to match the outside wall with the green grass, it wouldnt work because the shade of grey you see has nothing to do with the *colour* and everything to do with the *value*.) Value is how light, or how dark a colour is, so when removing all colour, you can only see the shade of how much lightness or darkness is in it. This is actually a really smart way to decorate a room, testing the values to see if two values work together is smart, rather than just seeing the colour. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk.
I think the odd accents all throughout the house kinda make it work. The slight pop of red in the kitchen, the red brick fireplace, the yellow carpet in the corridor and honeycomb-colored tiles in the bathroom, the pastelle pink in the bedroom - all of them really nicely break up the light blue and white in the build
There is a pop of red in every room: the soap in the shower, the basket, the pot, and the flower boxes. Honestly my favorite room is the bathroom because I think it embraces the Coastal vibes you wanted with the blue walls and items and the yellow because it looks like sand
I was screaming throughout the entire video because everything came out so actually beautiful and the girls were mourning it, but I was falling more and more in love with every reveal. The pops of red to offset the general blue vibe are delightful contrast and I adore them, the kitchen/dining is lovely, the living room rug and fireplace being more deep in the colors is such a nice thing to look at, and the bathroom actually made me gasp in delight out loud when I saw it. The room gives off sandy beach vibes with the floor and wall contrast, it's gorgeous. And the bedroom!! How the pink on the headboard matched the pink on the end tables, keeping that warm color/pop of red flow, but the blue sea/yellow sand combination stayed strong. Gosh, this build is absolutely delightful and I'm both sad and happy y'all couldn't see it at first; she's got hidden depths!
I actually liked the way it turned out, some things could have been better but I love how it had the same color theme throughout. “You know I actually liked the outside” 😂❤
I love all their builds, but this one feels like a real world house! Nothing is perfectly matching. It's like the sim added stuff over time. Repainted some rooms, and didn't touch others. It's just so natural, with its little imperfections. ❤
@@panampace Is it a gen Z thing? This is the first I've seen of it and I love it hahaha Outing my own grandma but the imagery this provoked for me was warm hugs and suspicious but usually delicious baked goods, and yeah, I feel that's a weirdly fitting description for that tile floor 😂I felt the bathroom wouldn't have been as good with any other tile once I saw it, despite being able to picture the exact tile during greyscale and thinking there's no way it'd work, lol
It gives irl house and I love it. Like when you buy something for your house and it definitely doesn't match the colors but its too cute and meaningful that you just keep it
Are you kidding me?? I love that bathroom!! It absolutely reads as coastal! This place reminds me of a retired parents house. Kids gone, just an old couple vibing with their collection of eclectic pieces and furbishings
When the bathroom was revealed I was like "I mean she was right that the floor is yellow while the wall isn't but it's kinda cute honestly" And then y'all were like "OH NOOOO" 😂😭 So happy to be here for 1 mil, I love you two🥰
kldsfjdsl I KNOW sometimes build youtubers will react with horror to things that I think look kinda nice and it makes me question if my design sense is secretly shit (it had better not be! I majored in art and design!!)
I love how almost everyone in the comments adores the yellow floors, and I kind of agree! I think if the towels were a different color, it would look so much better! Also, congrats on 999k! I can’t wait for y’all to hit 1 million!
i would KILL for you guys to do a full eclectic build. as someone who has grown up thrifting for most of my things, i love clashing patterns/colors so so much. its something ive noticed not many people do and i think its such a great opportunity. you could also use all the funky pot designs on the plants!!
The unintentional theme is coastal meets cottagecore with a splash of red. 😂😊 The theme that I didn't know that I needed. I absolutely love it and now I want my house decorated like this! ❤ (I was here before 1 million. I hope Caryn and/or Connie eventually say, "Comment below and say that I was here before 2 million!" 🎉)
I love these challenges cause it reminds me of seeing sets for black and white movies/TV. They're always crazy colors because of how B&W media worked. I always imagine its a set for a TV sitcom lol
This challenge kept making me think about that factoid that the Addams family house was painted pink so it would look right in black and white. Super interesting to watch!
you know what ... i actually like the outside! here before a million! and all that. but i think the house is pretty cool, the theme is throughout and it does look good. it's just not a typical build :)
I love the living room and bathroom, the whole inside is honestly really cute and cohesive apart from a few minor missteps. I've noticed many sims builders tend to get hung up on everything matching, maybe because it's safer, but that's not the only way to work with color!
you guys should do the coloring book challenge where you start off with all white and then change the swatches after if you haven't already! also congrats on 1 million
You know, this actually came out surprisingly cute and cohesive. And personally I’m a yellow and blue fan, my hair was yellow and blue for a couple of months, so you have me sold!!
I like the idea that it's a couple and one of thems' favorite color is red while the other hates it so to compromise they have little pops of red throughout the house
As someone who has a beach home from the 80’s that bathroom is giving 80’s East coast beach house vibes!!! The yellow orange brown floor with the powder blue walls! I would say they’re in at least half of the homes you see being sold that were built in the 70’s/80’s! Something so nostalgic about this build to me!!
Idea that I haven't seen anyone do to my knowledge- build a house ONLY using the room presets. And you can only style them with the packs the rooms use (ex: if you use a base game preset you can only style it with base game content, if you use a room from a pack, you can only style with content from that pack)
I actually love the bathroom. It's perfect for the costal theme. A sandy yellow on the ground for the beach and a blue, that reminds you of crystal clear water, on the wall. It's so aesthetic!
Here's a quick idea! You can make a video where you fix this build - you can't add, remove or swap any items (including wallpapers and floors), you can only change their swatches to match
I just adore this channel. It makes me think of content I would absolutely love love love as a kid and it feels great to indulge in it now. Perfectly lighthearted and I learn so much for my own sim builds hahaha ❤
Yours Black and White build still looks better than most of my normal builds, AND THE BATHROOM IS SOO GOOD it gives so much of "beach" vibes, like the yellow for the sand, blue for the sky and the sea. AND I WAS HERE BEFORE A 1MIL
I can't say I made it before a million lol. Saw the post yesterday. I *can* say "thanks for showing me how to roof those little bump outs! I've been doing the octagon roof and getting sad.
Y'know what... I actually liked the outside! I was here before 500,000 and now I'll be here before 1 MILLION?! You girls are doing such a good job and have gotten me back into my Sims 4 building phase and have given me some tips and tricks to go into it? How do you do it!? Thank you C&C, you guys are always going to be credited as my main inspirations for a lot of builds. Thank you thank you thank you!
You know what? I actually like the outside 👍 And the interior was fun! I loved that blue kept coming in with yellow and a bit of red. Your designs will always be great to look at and will always be amazing ideas. Makes me feel inspired to get the Sims 4 😊 Another entertaining and cozy video ❤
I can’t believe I started watching you guys when you had only made about 3 videos. And I just remember being so surprised and impressed about how well you guys built in the sims. I was surprised by the subscriber count because I expected you to be big CZcamsrs because of how skilled you both are. I’m so happy for you guys for how far you have grown!! Keep up the great work and I’ll always be here to support you both!🩷💕
22:41 the bathroom still very coastal because whenever you do that interior design theme, you tend to always go with warmer, beige and yellow for the floor to represent the sand and usually blue for the walls because of the sky and see so you’ve unintentionally stuck with the theme that you accidentally made with grayscale challenge
I would love a miniseries called "fixing our builds" where you guys revisit challenge builds and change them to make them more cute! So for instance changing all the swatches in this challenge, adding/removing items for the budget challenges, adding items from other packs to pack challenges etc! It'd be really interesting to see which direction you guys would go in without challenge limitations!
I have been here as a silent subscriber since you guys were around 150k. To see you guys grow the channel so much so fast has been great! I'm happy for you both and I will continue to support you for the millions more to come! 😊🎉
What about building a house backwards? Start with the greenery, then do the objects inside, then place walls last. (Obviously things on the wall can’t be placed until the walls are built, so they can be done after. Just place all objects before doing the floor plan.)
i actually really liked this build it felt very lived in, like the sorta house where things have been updated/ decorated bit by bit when they could afford it, thrifted furniture keeping some of the old style with a colour scheme that might not be evereyones tate but the owner liked. ALSO CONGRATS ON MIL GUYS
I actually love the inside so much. The seaside theme is strong with this one XD Also, if it helps you, the yellow tiles in the bathroom looks like sand, so it's kinda like a beach in there :)
I loved this build! it's super interesting how you guys leaned super yellow and blue (on accident) when being unable to tell what's what. The outside was a little,, mismachy,, but the rest of the house was really cute and sort of made you guys do something different than usual. Also, this might be a hot take, but I really loved the colors in the bathroom lmao! just love me a pop of color and for the sake of it, i was here before a million xx
It would be fun to see you guys renovate this house where you can’t change the object but you edit the swatches maybe in a live stream or something! You guys did so well building in B&W, it would just be fun to see how different you would make this if you could see the colors ☺️
Aside from the outside of the house and the bathroom, it is a super cute house! I know it's not your preferred colors, but I think this turned out really good (aside from those two things listed above). By far this is one of my favorite kitchens you guys have done.
This looks like an actual house and the green and white is something that alot of the older houses have especially in my town. It looks like it was a house that accumulated its furniture over time that the wife brought in honestly even if the colors don’t match or work 💯 i like it 😊
you guys are my comfort youtubers!! whenever i'm stressed or sad i rewatch your videos and they instantly make me feel better, and you have a talent for uploading videos when i'm feeling down (i've lost the count of all my "oh man im sad :( CARYN AND CONNIE UPLOAD WOOHOO !!!") i am so happy to see you get to a million subscribers
I have greyscale colourblindness soooooo it looks great to me! Sims is really good because most of the time it'll tell you what colour you're working with! I tend to find very vivid greys are reds and blues. Overall it was really funny watching your 'new experience' I was expecting a cut when you turned it back on and didn't realise xD good job on making another beautiful build.

thats what i was thinking to

I AGREE! If not beach, then like how a beach would be colored if you only use primary colors
What about an "everything is not what it seems" challenge? Where you try to use as many things for something that is not their intended use, have hidden rooms, secret gardens, etc.
Oh my gosh yes!!

This entire home just gives off “Grandmas house” in such a nostalgic way 🤍
Replying bc I can’t put my own comment
it’s so grandma
100%
It’s very grandma I agree especially the bedroom!
Maybe cuz older people lose their vision and colors look muted with time? Old people confirm?
22:52 i really think the yellow and blue adds to the coastal/beach vibe. Like, the yellow floor tiles is the sand and the blue wall tiles is the ocean or sky. Loved this build, it was surprisingly cohesive!!
I love that there are actually different colours around. A show home would have everything matching - a lived place is eclectic!

You know what? I actually like the outside 👍 And the interior was fun! I loved that blue kept coming in with yellow and a bit of red. Your designs will always be great to look at and will always be amazing ideas. Makes me feel inspired to get the Sims 4 😊 Another entertaining and cozy video ❤
i kinda love the bathroom tiles...it's giving sand and sea
I can’t believe I started watching you guys when you had only made about 3 videos. And I just remember being so surprised and impressed about how well you guys built in the sims. I was surprised by the subscriber count because I expected you to be big CZcamsrs because of how skilled you both are. I’m so happy for you guys for how far you have grown!! Keep up the great work and I’ll always be here to support you both!🩷💕
Same!
Me too! I vividly remember looking on their page and being sad when there were only 3 to watch and I'd often rewatch stuff.
@@Eclipse_101 yes me too!!
CONGRATS ON 1 MILLLLL!!!! Yall are one of my favs!! 🎉🎉🎉
Alternative title name: we tried building a house but started going crazy in sims 4.
yeah this is the first challenge where ive seen them losing the plot so much 😂😂
I love how sims creators cross reference each other! Simmers supporting simmers
Not me playing the video every few seconds to recreate the layout of this build. I love it so much!😅
Congrats on 1M! 🎉🥳🎊
Don’t forget to the house where you 2 get the same house and each have to decorate it in your own styles!
There really is nothing better that a sick-day spent at home binge watching your videos while crocheting ❤️
CONGRATULATIONS ON 1 Million!!!!!!! 🎉❤ here since 9K!! Never stop!!!!
What about building a house backwards? Start with the greenery, then do the objects inside, then place walls last.
(Obviously things on the wall can’t be placed until the walls are built, so they can be done after. Just place all objects before doing the floor plan.)
my biggest dream currently is to have a collab video between Cary & Connie and Syd Mac, you are my favorite the sims creators
i actually really liked this build it felt very lived in, like the sorta house where things have been updated/ decorated bit by bit when they could afford it, thrifted furniture keeping some of the old style with a colour scheme that might not be evereyones tate but the owner liked.
Also, this might be a hot take, but I really loved the colors in the bathroom lmao! just love me a pop of color
and for the sake of it, i was here before a million xx
It would be fun to see you guys renovate this house where you can’t change the object but you edit the swatches maybe in a live stream or something! You guys did so well building in B&W, it would just be fun to see how different you would make this if you could see the colors ☺️
i second this one!! please please please!
THIRD THIS!!
I’m just imagining that the home owners and builders are colorblind and choosing everything and the neighbors are watching and judging
HAPPY 1MIL!! YOU GUYS DESERVE IT! 🎉❤
Y'all should build with blue tones more (wether you know it or not) because this is WAY COOL
SPOILER ALERT HOW DARE YOU /J
this is gonna get lost but caryn and connie,i actually get happy when i see u guys upload and its also educational and helpful. thank!
Aside from the outside of the house and the bathroom, it is a super cute house! I know it's not your preferred colors, but I think this turned out really good (aside from those two things listed above). By far this is one of my favorite kitchens you guys have done.
i adore you too oml, beyond thrilled for you two deservedly reaching 1mil
it’s so exciting to be here now that caryn and connie have hit 1M subs especially since i’ve been here before 180k
me too!! so happy for them 😭
This looks like an actual house and the green and white is something that alot of the older houses have especially in my town. It looks like it was a house that accumulated its furniture over time that the wife brought in honestly even if the colors don’t match or work 💯 i like it 😊
HAPPY ONE MILLION GUYSS! ive been here since so long ago that this milestone is genuinely exciting lol. love u guys
I love how everything ended up being kind of blue.
It's very matchy-matchy and cute.
I can totally picture the Sim that would live in this house.
you guys are my comfort youtubers!! whenever i'm stressed or sad i rewatch your videos and they instantly make me feel better, and you have a talent for uploading videos when i'm feeling down (i've lost the count of all my "oh man im sad :( CARYN AND CONNIE UPLOAD WOOHOO !!!") i am so happy to see you get to a million subscribers
This video was so fuuuuun, you are both so hilarious 🤣💕💖
Congrats on 1 million subscribers, girls!! 🤩🎉🎈🎂🎀
Congrats on 1 MILLION subscribers!! You guys deserve it!❤️
27:00
Not Caryn crushing Connies dreams 😂
