  • Indigenous worship songs written and sung by Nuba Moro Christians who have suffered the genocide in Sudan.
Celebrating with church on the 4th Sunday of Advent/Christmas Eve morning with Nuba Moro in displacement areas in Omdurman, Sudan in December 2006! I don't have the translation for the song(s) here, and would love for any Nuba Moro who can translate these songs to offer the meaning/translation in the comments section. Hopefully, as the Moro visit the video and comment, if there are any corrections to be made, that can take place.
For those who do not know, the Nuba experienced the genocide in Sudan for years prior to the more well known genocide of Darfur.

Thank you for your encouraging words, Amal! I’ve loved and admired your love for the Lord so powerfully evident in your singing and leading! You and your beautiful people have been such an inspiration to me and my faith walk with Jesus. May Our Lord continue to keep you and bring you peace and justice in Sudan! He is coming quickly for those who are eagerly awaiting His return!!

I love this song! Thank you, and I'm so glad to hear from you. Your mom has an amazing voice. I have another recording of her at the annual Moro gathering after Christmas there in Omdurman. I'd love to get a full translation of this song, line by line to put it in subtitles matching the placement in the song.
