Mercedes MBE 4000 Antifreeze Leak

Here I thought the head gasket was leaking on #2 cylinder.. I sure hope what I found was the culprit..since I was quoted $18000 to change head gaskets from Freightliner. I’d do it myself, but I don’t have a shop big enough to fit my truck in..

Most common leaks on this engine are gonna be the liners they come up with another design now with a D ring on the top of the liner and new style head gasket

It’s a pretty easy fix once you know where the leak is coming from..

Mine has been leaking in the same spot for 7 months sometimes I add a half a gallon a day and sometimes it’s a month! But it blew a head gasket 2 days ago so now it’s time for a rebuild
