I needed this today. I am guilty of binge watching Escape to The Country and hankering for a seaside cottage. However I live in a beautiful part of the world and I want to practice making the most of what I have and being grateful instead of wishing for something else.❤

For a long time I had a sofa bed in my craft room. It is so comfy for doing the hours of hand-sewing and knitting. I often sneaked in there at night, when a particular project wouldn't leave my head and I would read up on something and/or fall asleep with the most gorgeous materials next to me. The sofa bed has now moved in the living room, but I shall look out for an old armchair-bed to replace my dream island of creativity.

My mom is a great sewer and she did a lot of clothes for us when we were child, I will ask her if she could make the rabbit patron for me, I like your ideas and your videos, so calming, I can feel my mom presence while watching you.

We live on the edge of the Peak district and although i would have loved a 300 year old cottage, means must, so we bought a small dorma bungalow and made it into my dream of Cottage Core. Hi Vanessa. I’m enjoying your videos. I too haven’t got my dream country home. I married a sheep farmer who came with a rather run down mud brick house built just after WW11. But I have made it into the sort of home I have dreamed of. Here in Australia I also watch Escape to the country. I just love those old 200+ homes with all the beams and small rooms

I have been living my cottage core life for 50 yrs. It's easier on the pocketbook and easier on the heart. I got my skills from my mom and grandma., both took what they had on hand and made something with it. Those skills and determination have served me well. Today things are a bit easier with Pinterest and You Tube with inspiration and tutorials. I think of God looking down on us, would He be pleased we are keeping His home tidy and pretty? 🌺🌲🌺

Good afternoon Vanessa, I love Carnations and they are my favourite flowers. I do not dream about living in a cottage, I am already in one but without any Wisteria and semi rural! It does not matter what the age of a house is, the important thing is what you do with the inside to make it homely and beautiful. Your home is certainly beautiful. Thank you for the shout out. XXX I made a pin board out of some surplus plywood, covered the front with some wadding, put some fabric on it and voila. I used crocodile style fixings on the back to hang it on the wall. With using wadding, you can use dressmaking pins to hold things in place. The only downside with mine is that I did not make it big enough. Another brilliant idea I have gleamed from Pinterest is a cotton reel holder utilising a redundant picture frame. I removed the glass and superglued bamboo golf tees onto the board at two inch intervals. You must be patient with the glue as it will take a while to set properly. I usually wait overnight to do this as they can initially appear not to be sticking as you would expect. I can then put one reel of cotton onto each golf tee with a corresponding bobbin. You then have them prettily displayed on the wall. The Bakewell tart was so gorgeous looking. Yet another recipe for me to try at some point. Since last week's video, I made the lentil and carrot soup you showed. I made a total of ten portions and froze it. I love this recipe and it tasted so good. Thank you for yet another delightful video. I think you have got the type of content just perfect with what you have been showing. Have a great week, Sophie.
