    I have a Fj60 in the same color! 16 years old and I daily one of those. Not the fastest but my god is it fun to drive! Also a great choice of music for the back round. The cherry on top.

    Great work! I also want to try, I love the 2F, but I want the 5th speed

    Did I just see you do a quick attempt at placing the head on the block without the crane? I got a kick out of that. About to do this on my 3FE, I probably didn't need to take out the water outlet assembly, nicely done.

      Lol it would’ve been possible but wanted that precise location on the gasket and minimal sliding around

    How much would you charge labor hours for that kind of job to others?

    Hi did shaving the head help with performance?

      Hi, I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but I bought it with no engine and did the head shave before install, haven’t driven one with stock compression. I’m still tuning it but it feels peppy.

      Howdy man, unfortunately the guide I used is no longer on the internet. There was a MUD thread it was derived from, but someone made a PDF guide. I’ll see if I can find it again and post it somewhere. Really made it simple.

      DoubleWrench thanks a bunch

  • @nikodemjedrzejewski8289

    Why did you think you needed to replace the HG? smoke? no power?

    • @doublewrench69
      @doublewrench69  Před 3 lety

      It wasn’t bad enough to the point of smoking, but it was the stage before that. Compression was leaking into the cooling system. Once cooling system pressure overcomes compression it would start smoking, but I knew it was just bad from when I initially installed. Haven’t had issues since, knock on wood!

    You need yourself a rolling cart. Will save you so much time instead of walking back and forth.
