- This was the ultimate lockdown pond.
The client bought the Koi before he built a pond so it was all systems go! He got in touch with us regarding the filtration etc and we got it delivered and the rest is history!
A stunning pond in a stunning setting. A great self build too, massive credit to Rob for getting it done.
The pond is 6500 gallons. it is run a single bottom drain running to a Nexus 320+

There is one of custom Skimmers on the pond which is run via a 30" Advanced bead filter

1 x 10,000 Varipump on the Nexus returning to 2 returns.

Good to see the little fella feeding the koi. And nearly brave enough to put his toes in. He could be a future koi enthusiast. Keep the hobby going. A repeat of the 80's would be great.😁

He pretty much leaves it to get on with it, maybe there’s a lesson. Don’t mess if not needed
One bottom drain on 6.5k gallons.
Needs two bottom drains, two drums, two skimmers and two bakki showers. 😆 Or this setup which clearly works very well.
@@adamrudge6480 it has the skimmer line for the 30” K1 filter. When the client built it I’m not sure he knew the sizes. Just dug a hole lol

Ridiculous water quality. I've got two bottom drains feeding two nexus 320s, both with Draco drop ins in them, and my water is NOWHERE near that clarity. Amazing. Beautiful pond too.
Second time I’ve watched this and i swear the water is more crystal clear than my tap water.

It’s a question of keeping on top of things. There isn’t a full cure

It will be CT1 or similar silicone.

Tim I’ve got a 3000 Gallon pond bottom drain to Nexus 220 to 55w UV then returned via a TPR. No fish in yet (still doing rest of garden) been filled since November last year and it’s like pea soup with algae, tried all different flow rates through UV but no good, what am I doing wrong☹️
Has the UV been on since November? If so, change the bulb and put a blanket weed treatment in. A pond needs fish to work 👍🏻
@@TimWaddington turned on UV in Feb 22 so should be nice and fresh, does blanket weed treatment sort single cell free floating algae? What product would you recommend?
@@nigelsiviter5400 a UV bulb only lasts 6 months at best. The filter needs to start working, right now it’s not working. You need fish and I’d put a new bulb in.

Why don’t you see plants in these pools?
It’s just not something we do with the ponds. They don’t really have shelves. Plus high class Koi will damage themselves on plants etc
