Michael Che actually had bit parts in sketches when he started out (he was the football player convicted of sexual assault at THE Ohio State University on the Chris Pratt episode from season 40, one of the office workers from "The Day Beyonce Turned Black", was in that Family Feud sketch where a recently divorced black woman and her kids square off against the black woman's ex-husband and his new white wife and her family, and even played Lester Holt in a sketch). But, after a while, Che just stuck to Weekend Update.

This might be Heidi Gardner’s most crafted performances as Bailey Gismert ever. Also one of her funniest. The jibe you don’t have to work hard because you’re never in sketches is even funnier when you know that Michael Che and Colin Yost write most of their own material. Love the interaction between the two.

yeah, it's outdated, but the character has been running for a while so I guess they just want to keep that uniform. people wore those kind of chokers about 5 years ago as part of the 90s comeback, but now we're in the 2000s comeback so it's no longer fashionable

Actually I don't find Forrest Gump too offensive due to him not being miraculously cured at the end and living a life that is based on his canonical abilities. Also I don't find him being played by a non-autistic actor offensive because, I don't find the movie portrays his disability as a hindrance to living a full life not because of his disability.
Edit: I am obviously not a representative for the whole ASD community and these views are my own.
My point is that you can tell that Hanks was approaching the character first and the disability was ambiguous in the movie thus he was playing the character not a characterization of the disability (which I find way more offensive, it is right after miracle cure and inspoporn, which the movie could fall under but again I think the message of the movie has more to do with acceptance).

Idk if it’s intentional or not but the character Bailey Gismert has aged as if she is a real teenage movie critic. Her earlier appearances she was a little quieter and elementary, but as she has appeared again and again she appears to be bolder and more confident and older. Almost as if she was 14 in the earlier appearances and now this appearance she was like 17. I think it’s cool to see the progression of a character as if they’re aging in real life, especially on update-considering it’s what’s current and new. Either that, or Bailey as a character’s confidence has just risen having being interviewed by Michael Che multiple times in the past. Regardless, the way Heidi Gardner progresses the character Bailey Gismert as real time goes on is really stellar. She’s hella talented and I’m glad she’s on the show
