@@soldierboy1534 lol he is from a sect of our culture that don't worship idols -- his lineage is from advaita (god has no form--being everything and nothing at the same time) so this explanation is irrelevant. Ganesha's qualities have been expressed through an elephant head, and that too is just for visualisation. The story is a made-up one (my belief) for idol worshipers so that they have an origin story of him.
However, it is filled with contradictions as shiva's qualities just can't allow him to be angry in any sense. Shiva literally represents having no emotion and complete detachment. I would call this story an abomination.

As far idol worship is concerned, if people are detached from them, it's good. Idols are just the beginning of the journey, but unfortunately for a lot of people, that's all that they do and see. They don't progress to advaita like how Adi Shankaracharya maintained.

All mantras are primarily in Sanskrit. When translating from Sanskrit to English, most of the essence of a mantra gets lost. Mantras can be decoded at different levels depending on the context.
For eg - @08:10 - when talking about an Elephant's trunk - Alexander says it is 2 Indriyas: Karma Indriya and Gnyaan Indriya.
    1. Here Indriya means Sensory perception which helps with your karma (action) like touch and sensory perception
    for gathering information/knowledge (Gnyaan).
    2. But Indriya is a derivation from the Puranic Deity Indra (also referred to as the Kind of Gods).
    3. The fundamental point of Dharma is that the divine exists in everything and everyone.
If you build a context based on statements 1 & 2, your sensory abilities are derived from the king of gods. Bring in the context from statement 3, and you may extrapolate it to say - for anything/anyone to manifest the divine within them, their sensory perceptions have to be open/receptive. In other words, you need the blessing of Indra.
Continuing the above example to your question @11:10 - Indra’s weapon is a Thunderbolt. Zeus (also the King of Gods in the Greek lore) has a thunderbolt. You may draw a similarity between the two for discussion purposes. But for Indra, there are mantras (when chanted properly) which open the Indriya’s in your body but there are no such known mantras for the Greek pantheon.
Likewise, for discussion purposes, you may say that Devatas and Archangels are similar. However, many of the mantras/texts for the Dharmic deities were originally in Sanskrit and are chanted in Sanskrit to this day. But in the case of the Abrahamic religions, the language has changed from Aramaic to Old English to Modern English/Spanish/Portuguese etc etc. So the potential for data loss is exponentially higher. In my humble opinion, it will be like comparing apples to oranges. But in contrast, we might find some more substantial similarities if we go back to Aramaic or the original language in which they were delivered.

Mantras are collection of words that creates a phonetic that synchronize with the energy to which you want to tap into to get your work done.. The words in Mantras are so specifically made and chosen so that the meaning of the line what it is made for and the phonetic could be matched. This type of specific information is passed from a Guru( Teacher ) to Shisya(student).. So that a the Shishya can understand what he is able to tap into and what can he do to ease the path by making simpler Mantras.

Shakti is the supreme divine feminine who is the embodiment of energy. Purusha, or the divine masculine, is consciousness and Shakti is the energy. Shakti is what creates dynamism and she is the energy that moves everything and without this energy, basically everything is dead. And Shakti has many forms, famously as the energy of the various Gods in the form of their consorts. In Shaktha traditions where the divine feminine is supreme, it is the Mother who creates all the different Gods.

Then there are the other gods which relate to the cosmos or nature like Agni the fire god, Vayu the wind god, Indra the king of the heavens or the rain/thunder god. Ganesh is the son of Shiva. Each god has their respective duties or due to their acts of preserving good or defeating evil are worshipped. Mantras can be of many types and not all are exactly given by a Guru. If you are born into a hindu family then by default you hear and become aware of many mantras which might be used by your family during daily worship lile maybe Gayatri mantra, Om Nama Shivaya, etc. For many of us, we learn about these mantras from our mothers, and in the hindu system your mother is your first Guru. Now even the name of a specific form of God is a mantra called naama mantra, like Ram, Krishna, Shiv, Durga, etc which anybody can chant, and for kaliyuga it is recommended to chant the names of the God you like because getting more potent mantras from a Guru can get difficult as that is the nature of kaliyuga. When you want to learn extremely potent mantras is when you need a Guru to initiate you into that particular practise, chanting and meditation, as learning potent mantras is typically taken up by those people who are seriously diving into spirituality and its associated lifestyle and want to clear their karma quickly so as to get closer to liberation.

Mantras require initiation by a guru because it has a flow and a vibration which needs to be taught for best results.
Let me give a not so great example - Like you need to be taught by a teacher when you learn singing.
Not all mantras are for everybody.
Only a trained teacher can guide you to the right mantras for your spiritual development.

Devata and angels are not the same, in the Abrahamic religion, one god sits in the sky and has several angels at his disposal as his servants they work on the instruction of the God who directly controls you. But in Hinduism, devatas are the mantra of particular energy (a software) with independence intelligence, and freedom, which takes form to relate you. In Hinduism God is a universal consciousness but it functions in the appeared world in many ways like creation, maintenance, and destruction for regeneration and it takes millions of forms because you have form so that you can connect to it. Universal consciousness is called Brahman.

9:37 there is many flavour of single god... One should not worship all of them blindly. You should research which god and which flavour is best for you.... For example there is goddess of education "Saraswati".. anyone can worship her.... However there is a "blue Saraswati", it's not for everyone.

  • @yamraj742
    @yamraj742 Před 26 dny

Idk about angels but norse and Greek (prior to Christ) had similar plathora of gods to sanatan
Like indra=jyosh pitra= Jupiter=thor (here = means similar ) the theory is, when people from bharat traveled westward they took stories of gods along with them(there is biological evidence research is going on)
Another theory is that all aincent civilization were connected like today's civilization so similar stories of gods but when expansionist religions started, things changed except in the centre of spirituality (bharat) dying down of spirituality was forseen in kaliyug (which we are in) and gods won't interfere everything else is upto our karmas(actions) until kalki (last avtar of Shri Vishnu) is born
Btw a fictional for telling of kalki is coming in a movie named( 'kalki 2989')😊

Shiva without Shakthi cannot perform or do anything, Shiva is nothing without mother sakthi, sakthi in human body is called as Prana Sakthi which divides into or takes many forms /kind of pranas in to human body.

Mantras backfiring is a misconception but more like is it really something you commit to doing or or you going to flake on it and wind up saying this stuff doesn't work without trying it out that much or is that mantra truly tailored to you versus another mantra. People are different and as time passes there is a realization that people can gravitate towards some deities versus others depending on their goals and demeanors. And that thing about the ultimate reality. Most of the high tier deities like shiva, vishnu, devi, ganesha, karthikey, hanuman, krishna are all deities who can be the supreme being by abstraction or by reduction. Hanuman is an ansh avatar or shiva (partial avatar) but several times hanuman has been called the ultimate reality by very reliable sources. Hanuman is also a bhakt of ram (devotee of ram) but at the same time ram is an avatar of vishnu is again considered the ultimate reality. Krishna is the latest avatar of vishnu but at the same time he says, I am the one everyone calls god. I am none other than the ultimate reality. Shiva, vishnu, devi are firmly in the category of ultimate reality for they truly never were born and neither is their end ever affixed for as long life, time and space exists where life thrives they will be there.
