Eddies lead vocals, the back up harmony, the musicianship and the lyrics. Wow! The Temptations are the total package. Nothing is like it with todays music.
This white boy loves this era of both black and white music. These artist were the real deal! Imagine the vibrations you would get from being there in person! pjw85 I don't know. Stax gave us some unforgetable, legendary artists. Otis, Sam and Dave, Aretha's best record came out of Stax, Albert King, Arthur Conley, Isaac Hayes, Booker T, Rufus Thomas...tons of epic talent came from Stax. How bout, were it not for Motown and Stax, our world would be a smaller and a lesser place? Can we agree on that?
the music i like i like no matter who or what color they are that sing or play. as someone who used to be an amature musician, I LOVE THEM GUYS. They Rock. and i always wanted to dance like the Temps

great music came from everywhere, expecailly the studio musicians. LOVED the ones who worked for Curtis Mayfield back in the day when the Impressions and Major Lance were recording
Happy childhood memories come to me whenever I hear this song. Coming home from school running through the back-door and my mum cooking in the kitchen. No worries at all. Wonderful!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My only complaint about this song is that it ends! I'm nearly 70 and this is one of my top feel-good songs. Powerful groove, soaring vocals. Motown at its absolute best!
This is such a killer tune. It's uptempo yet has such a locked in groove. The bass is deadly. Short & sweet too - get in, get out and leave them wanting more. @garwin wayne is right on point too - 50 years old and it sounds amazing and beats just about anything released since.
Haha I always want more so I just listen to the Rare Earth 20 minute version whenever I have time. Smokey Robinson wrote some timeless tunes, for sure!
My late Grandmothers always said Eddie Kendricks had one of the most beautiful voices of all time. After listening to this they were right what a voice. RIP Eddie
I don't believe that. Where did you read that? Berry looked at The Temptations as the soul group on the label, he would never try to take the soul out of their sound
@@Zeldarw104 why are you confused about the song? Are the words hitting you because of your personal life or am I too old to get the meaning of your message? Help me out here!
A #1 hit for The Temptations on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 139th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #29 on the Top 40 charts and #10 in the United Kingdom. One of the greatest R&B groups of all time. No matter your race, when they sang, you felt it. Something that is lacking today.
I can’t unsee David walking out to the stage after being late to the show lol. The memories of my childhood is flowing back to listening to this. I’m grateful that I was turned out to good music at a young age. 😌
Huh, imagine that. Twenty-four(at the time.) Still lacking the balls to resist running to CZcams for validation from complete strangers. If not for your disclosure, I'd think you were ten.
This was in my opinion the BEST "FAST PAISE" song that the Temps ever made.... All of the Musician were ON THE MONEY... ESPECIALLY THAT DRUMMER..XXXXXCELLENT WORK!!! PERFECT!!!
[Verse 1: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations] I never met a girl who makes me feel the way that you do You're alright Whenever I'm asked who makes my dreams real, I say that you do You're outta sight [Pre-Chorus: Eddie Kendricks] So, fee-fi-fo-fum Look out, baby, 'cause here I come [Chorus: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations] And I'm bringing you a love that's true So get ready, so get ready I'm gonna try to make you love me too So get ready, so get ready 'cause here I come (Get ready 'cause here I come) I'm on my way [Verse 2: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations] If you wanna play hide and seek with love, let me remind you It's alright But the lovin' you're gonna miss in the time it takes to find you It's outta sight [Pre-Chorus: Eddie Kendricks] So, fiddley-dee, fiddley-dum Look out, baby, 'cause here I come [Instrumental break] [Verse 3: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations] If all my friends should want you too, I'll understand it Be alright I hope I get to you before they do, the way I planned it Be outta sight

One of my absolute favourite songs, takes me right back to the early 70s and a Temptations album my parents owned, and I used to hear playing as a kid. Best years of my life, and this song sums it up in less than 3 minutes like some kind of time machine.
I remember when I lived in Fort Worth Texas, and we lived right off of Rosedale street on a street called Hurley, and my best friend Willie and I on our bike going down Rosedale street, with this song playing,we would sing right along with it,what a better time it was,to ride on a hot summer day and songs such as this one playing.

Eddie Kendricks' voice, a kite that flies above the rest and the harmonies can't help but be led by it. :)
Dennis Edwards Sadly gone now. Legacy , though ,firmly intact.
Good analogy there Hannah

Wish people still made music like this. The classics are remembered not because they were good, but because people didn't forget about them!
Exactly this type of music is completely timeless and appeals to everyone regardless of race social class and age it transcends like no other
I want to start my own night club where everything is 60s themed and you have to dress like it's the 60s and they play music like this

music like this REALLY needs to make a comeback!!!!!
[Verse 1: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations]
I never met a girl who makes me feel the way that you do
You're alright
Whenever I'm asked who makes my dreams real, I say that you do
You're outta sight
[Pre-Chorus: Eddie Kendricks]
So, fee-fi-fo-fum
Look out, baby, 'cause here I come
[Chorus: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations]
And I'm bringing you a love that's true
So get ready, so get ready
I'm gonna try to make you love me too
So get ready, so get ready 'cause here I come
(Get ready 'cause here I come) I'm on my way
[Verse 2: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations]
If you wanna play hide and seek with love, let me remind you
It's alright
But the lovin' you're gonna miss in the time it takes to find you
It's outta sight
[Pre-Chorus: Eddie Kendricks]
So, fiddley-dee, fiddley-dum
Look out, baby, 'cause here I come
[Instrumental break]
[Verse 3: Eddie Kendricks & The Temptations]
If all my friends should want you too, I'll understand it
Be alright
I hope I get to you before they do, the way I planned it
Be outta sight
