I recorded some of Buddhadev Dasgupta's performances in and around Calcutta and came to the conclusion that the right mike must be as close as possible to the soloist's fingers and the left as far from the bayàn, or bass tablâ, as possible.
"The one and only pakhawaj girl", but the bass drum breaks, and the sârangî is too loud. (It's only supposed to be a hint in the background.)
