Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate has been very helpful for my skin. I use a serum solely to help with clogged pores and it works for me. I just found your channel when I searched for sodium Ascorbyl phosphate and I’m glad I found your videos.

I love this skin science I’m learning about. It really helps to know what I’m actually applying to my skin. And if it really helps like it says it will.

Thanks :) finally someone with brains in the yt community. I studied dentistry and our biochemistry professor also said that topical used Vit. C derivatives are not effective antioxidants and that you should rather take it through your diet

Thank you. This is what I learned about topical vitamin C in college as well.

LOVE the series! Since as you say antioxidants are most effective through consumption, and we probably get enough through diet, is applying them topically in either Vitamin C or resveratrol an important skincare step in terms of anti-aging/collagen? Or did I misunderstand? It almost sounds like applying topically is a waste of product.

Thank you so much for being some good science to the beauty community. Too often products are recommended with no thought to its effectiveness.

THANK YOU. Finally someone with a scientific education tackles this topic. There are no significant trials that would confirm the efficacy of vitC derivatives. Same thing with hyaluronic acid in the form of topical creams for purpose other than direct hydration (fillers are a different topic). And I'm going to save my money until there are.

Fascinating, informative, and a bit unexpected! I've always heard Vitamin C spoken of as if it was a completely studied ingredient. The truth is that it hasn't been studied in skin care very much. Thank you for enlightening us!
