Thank you for sharing this. I listened to your interview. It came at the perfect time, right before planning my spring crops. You’re the voice of reason for sure!
The math police are not coming. 😆 You two crack me up. I love that you don’t edit out the real life back and forth, camera drifting etc. 😅💚
Haha!
I know editing these videos is time consuming but if you could even do a short instruction based video on building the cooler we would definitely watch! We are planning on using a cool bot and modifying an area of an existing building into a cooler space soon and would love the info! Great video! Waiting ever so impatiently for my lissis to bloom!
Second this 🥹🥰 thank you for all of your time
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! They are so helpful!
Loved the video, thanks. We are at the point of having to add a cooler to our set-up and would love to see the building process of your cooler... please. It is just so cute and gorgeous - exactly what I want.🌻
I noticed Farmer Bailey using your pictures!
Wow, everything looks great! I love your videos and information that you share! Looking forward to seeing Eric's talk about how he did the cooler. I can't wait to get started in possibly 1-2 years
Your videos are so helpful -- and fun! I am a small scale flower farmer in 8a, so your info is so relevant! Could you please describe your tunnel soil prep and fertilizing during the growing season? I think that you mentioned, in another video, bringing in compost and foliar feeding until blooms set, but also that your farm's soil is naturally wonderful. Anything in particular for lizzies, ranunculus, snaps? Thanks so much for your videos.
Love these flowers!
Wahoo! Appreciate yall.
Great info for us. My operation is too small for lizzies, but I love having the info. They are lovely. Stay real.
Wonderful information! Do you have a video on how you store your flowers? If not, maybe you could make a vlog on when you harvest the flowers. What do you do next, how to store, what solution do hold the flowers in and what can go in a cooler.
always look forward to your videos ❤thanks.
The voyage green is one i love.
You might be able to do a fall plant for your zone since they are very cold tolerant. I don’t know for plugs how that works though. I’m zone 6 and I started mine from seed and planted out in march. I covered with frost cloth if we got below 20 and mine survived.
Awesome
Great cooler!
Is there a good place for people to buy plugs for personal use. Less quantity?
I think burpee sells some but it's relatively expensive.
I did a trial patch, lost about 5, No root shield, they are about a foot tall.. no bud formation. I will go out and net them tonight! Thanks for the reminder.
Good info thank you!
Very nice!
Thanks!
Beautiful! I have s nursery so growing frome seed is not an issue. Just takes bench space but return is so high
The math! The math! 😂
I just love you!
I refuse to math
My window unit isn’t cooling (I also use a coolbot) would you share what ac unit you use ?
It's true that you can plant them at tue same time, & they will still bloom at their normal time. Actually, even if you try to plant one group later, it will still bliom at tue time its supposed to, just on shorter stems. So yes, you should plant them all at the sane time.
There have been I think 1 year where I had about 3 weeks in between groups, but its usually a put 7-10 days. Its not like snaps, where each group blooms pretty far apart...
Also, theres actually 4 groups of lissies. But grpup 3 & 4 usually bloom about the same time...
Tunnel looks great! I cant wait til i get mine up this fall!
Technically there's 5 groups lol. I think it's Sakata that has a Group 0.
NC grower here. I have seen the same with lisianthus and planting different groups at the same time. It gives about the same window as you saw.
Farmer Bailey did a long video on lisianthus earlier in 2024 - very helpful - and he also mentioned that the grouping bloom time differences are more on the order of days to a week and not weeks or more.
Thanks for another helpful video! Have you shared photos/recipes for your bouquets with lisianthus? (Maybe I missed it?) With their higher price point I'm curious how many stems you're including per bouquet and which other flowers you've found mix the best with them to get to that $20 or $25 retail.
I did in our recipe video from last year. We will provide 2024 recipes as well at some point
Great video! Didn't know about snip the 1st bloom, harvest with 3+ blooms. Those Lissies look amazing! How many of them go into a bouquet?
I've been pairing voyage champagne & roseanne brown w/ madame butterfly snaps & potomac purples to get a brighter bouquet but you are right. I need less antique/romance in summer and more colors that POP! 😅
Typically 3 right now
Another great video.
Does the root hormone make that much difference for the cost?
I have never used it
As a home gardener, I really debated about buying the rootshield for Lisianthus in my raised beds (growing for the first time this season), but decided I couldn't afford it. I took the risk and bought the seeds from Johnny's allowing myself to fail at growing them and now they are perfectly fine without Rootshield. Growing Champagne Voyage & Roseanne Brown. They are GORGEOUS. At the time of planting, all I put in the soil was Biotone fertilizer. I wouldn't buy Rootshield unless I saw a huge crop failure due to fusarium wilt.
What is your spacing ?
These remind me of Alice in Wonderland when the cards are painting the roses red 😂
Yes!
Why doesn't the plugs come dipped?
Didn't realise you sprayed for bugs. What do you spray with?
Typically pyrethrum
Maybe you need to experimenting with nr 3s next yesr to get thst stagger.
Might be a good trial to do
Good job with the pronunciation girlfriend.
Did you get the trays with 125 or 210?
125
So if everything is 2 wks early, will that be a sign your new addition will come 2 wks early? Lol Thank you for the info!
Ha! I would love that. Never had an early baby before 😅
Do you feed weekly?
I don’t feed at all
