I own all of your books. They are awesome and I love the connection with your CZcams videos which drive home all the concepts and topics that you cover. I deeply appreciate your holistic attention to all the items that make for good jazz soling and am grateful for your passion for educating and inspiring your many jazz piano students. Deepest thanks and best wishes!

@@JeremySiskind I had a bit of a Jeremy-Siskind binge when I discovered your channel last night - thank you. I'd find it very helpful to have access to your stream of consciousness whilst playing, lets us say, a ballad. The YT channel Jazz2511 does this by showing annotated sheet music compiled after the event, but it would be fascinating, if possible, to hear you break down what you've done and where, sort of as you're doing it, drawing our attention to enclosures, voice-leading, rhythm and articulations, 'colour' tones, substitutions ...or whatever. It may be a question of playing, then showing that video and adding a commentary/explanations over the top. I can see that there would be challenges of doing it all simultaneously! I'm sensing a book purchase coming on!

The singing aspect is interesting and probably is why Keith Jarrett does it so he provides himself the kind of instant feedback he feels helps his improv talent.

I believe jazz pianist Kenny Werner came out with a book similar to the tennis one. The emphasis is on effortless playing. You could call it the "Tao of jazz performance."

This is so helpful Jeremy. Thank you really really much for all the content you are sharing. Each and every video that I’ve seen from you has so much quality in terms of knowledge and mostly pedagogy. I have started playing piano at 21, now I’m 23, and as I’m not a guy who started playing since kid - as most of my favourite pianists have - I’m constantly learning step by step trying to optimize (and always enjoying) my learning as best as I can and you fulfill my hungry of acquiring a better level of expression at piano.
I would love to see a video of ways or “levels” of applying Inner Voices Motion. For example, taking a standard ballad and gradually showing patterns or ways to create movement inside each chord. I know that it’s a big and maybe endless topic that goes in hand with the Contrapuntal study. But it would be nice to know some basic tips or guidelines. The three pianists that touch my soul most are Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau and I hear so much of this going on in their playing.
Thank you Jeremy! Sorry for the long message.

Brad Mehldau makes use of that expressive element where he seems to reaaaaaaccccchhhhhhhh to extreme heights to play certain riffs or phrases in playing.

Really enjoyed this vid. Thank you Jeremy. I’m a 74 y.o. arthritic ex-horn player trying to learn piano. Age and infirmary make it impossible for me to ever approach your incredible facility on the keyboard. Therefore I am relying on learning as much keyboard harmony and tricks that I can apply in order for me to actually enjoy hearing what I’m putting down. I really appreciate your ability to communicate as well as your ideas and talent. Thank you.

    Nice!
A suggestion for a vid I would love to see: Could you demonstrate making a shared hand voicings arrangement? I learned a lot from that chapter in your book but run into some voiceleading issues. Basically, if you simplify the melody and don't allow doublings, then if the melody is a third or a 7th and then skips or makes a leap, you don't get that smooth voice-leading that comes from 7 moving to the third etc, does this make sense?:)
I realize this is extremely nitpicky, but would be cool to see how you go about doing it:)

@@JeremySiskind another suggestion! Exercises for locked hands/octave runs improvising a la Oscar.
I am working on it, and in one sense the answer seems simple, just see to it that you can do whatever you do in the right hand with both hands.
But maybe you have some cool suggestions?:)
