Those ear room mics have been popping up everywhere and I feel like its about to be in every gear demo video on YT now. I really like the option to hear that honestly!
That "Ear simulating Mikrophones" are great! Sounding very different unique with Headphones! More of that please....
Big fan of Ben playing acoustic's. More of him please ;-).
I spent about 2 hours at our local guitar shop. I tried the J 45's, the Deluxe models, I tried the Taylors, Martins and etc. However, I pickup the G 45 and started playing. I almost pissed my pants when I heard how incredible it sounded. The action is smooth and well balanced. That's not all, I was blown away on how it sounded when I plugged it into the Fishman acoustic amp. I went home that evening and thought about it. I returned the next day and purchased it.
You people their at Andertons always make the greatest guitar videos!... and your playing is amazing! Thanks!!
Very cool opening Jam
Just puts a smile on my face. Great work fellas!
1:01 Lee's progressing nicely on his Swedish. Will we be expecting "The Captain meets Björn" soon?
Their budget guitars hold up super well. I've had an epiphone acoustic since I started playing and I still find it the easiest action for songwriting no matter the genre. Stoked to see they're making more!
I've had one of these since Oct and it's great. The only downside was the battery bag coming lose inside, but it was an easy fix
Tennessee checking in. I've never been to your shop and probably never will get to, but....I wear a couple of your t shirts to rep you here. :)
That ASMR John Mayer Mic though. LOL woke me up
It isn’t just about the humidity of where the guitar is made , it’s about the people who are making the guitars and the working conditions and way they are treated by management. A happy workforce is a healthy workforce and that will come out in the products they produce.
2 seconds into that jam and I was hooked.
The balance is due to the walnut back and sides. Walnut (like myrtlewood) is an extremely balanced tonewood. My Breedlove all myrtlewood guitar is a phenomenal sounding guitar where you can hear every frequency range.
I keep on coming back to this review.. at first i want standard but now I want studio ;)
I bought the g45 studio a couple months ago and have been loving it. It's an amazing little acoustic at a great price.
It's the light finish on the studio. I was blown away @ NAMM.
Really enjoying this series. Ben is such a good player 👍
As a man that is from a couple hundred miles south of Nashville I can confirm the humidity in the summer is massive and i could imagine it works be difficult to maintain the wood moisture properties correct here
Nice to see great sounding guitars made of non-endangered materials.
Shredding it up, Ben....
One thing about Lee is he really is a great salesman but he does know his stuff & all about the products they sell, thats what makes him the Capt ! Keep safe all of you at Andertons thanks always for Andertons TV
Great Video ..Beautiful guitars ..Standard had more bass end ...????? Lovely playing to ..
John’s ears sound the best. Great way to hear the guitar in the room 😎☮️
I think John's ears clearly add some reality to it. It's a keeper. I'd leave internal pickups out of the videos totally.
Well, no. Some of us use the internal pickups and would like to hear what they sound like. John should be kept, though.
@Frits van Zanten... no... now I know if I need to replace the stock electronics.
When do we get another video of Ben and his bandmate Jamming? The last one was fantastic!
The Capt. sneaking in a little "Shallow" on us.
It would be interesting to compare these to the J45 Studio that was also all walnut.
There are a couple of comparison video's on CZcams between the J-15 and the G-45 (studio). I remember one on which the J-15 sounded much better, but I also saw a video on which the G-45 was the clear winner. However, the J-15 is twice the price of the G-45 Studio.
I bought the latter one and I'm glad I did. I have a J-45 Standard as well and I truely don't think either one of them is better than the other, but they do sound very different. The J-45 sounds softer, sweeter and it has more low end. It's louder, but not really noticeable, because of the more mid frequency focused sound of the G-45.
Frankly, I bought the G-45 Studio as a backup guitar for the J-45 Standard, but now I just keep swapping them. I like the J-45 for the more subtle, finger style stuff, but I prefer the G-45 Studio for simple strumming. It sounds really well! And the case is just beautiful!!!
@@mariodriessen9740 so I should go for g45 studio cuz I don't have money to buy j45 standard
Emanuel b ; I haven't tried all of them, so I may have been just lucky, but I do love my G-45 Studio and I love its sound. But its sound is different to the sound of a J-45 Standard. A little more mids, a little less bottom end and a little less loud, although the difference in volume is barely noticeable, because of the mids.
thanks, now I'm definitely getting a Guild D140
love the new room Mic!!
John's ears should definitely stay. Really interesting way to hear "in the room". Also need to add that Ben is an incredible player and a great addition to the Andertons team. 👍
The standard is more low end , studio is more in ur face and has the sweet solid wood tone that I can’t explain
Awesome guitars...would love to see you review a Rainsong BI-WS1000N2 Black Ice Series Graphite acoustic guitar.
Great video! What cable are you using for the guitar and fishman amp? Thanks!
I love the acoustic videos.
Do more of these!!!
Taylor.......maybe
Martin.......
I got a G45 Studio. Played both. Didn’t like the rich lite fretboard , and bridge on the Standard. Also the Nitro was peeling off the rich lite on fretboard on both Standards they had in the store. Liked the walnut bridge and fretboard on the Studio
The G series has a 16" (flatter) fretboard radius, whereas the standard series (such as the J-45) have the traditional (for Gibson), and very comfortable 12" fretboard radius.
Louder is not always better, the one with the back binding is more complex, better for recording i would say. ✌
Considering the narrower body and the slope shoulder aspect of this guitar, how do you guys feel it holds up as a fingerstyle guitar? To me it sounds quite tonally balanced.
Ben is so good, I’m pretty much exclusively play Electric guitar these days, Ben makes me feel like I coped out!
your comment has made me feel better because ive always played accoustic and wondered if i copped out because i only recently got an electric !!
@@TheBobbymcd I did a small acoustic set for friends and family last night, it's been so good getting back to that acoustic earthy rhythmic sound!
Wish they did one with a 12 fret join + wide nut. I'd buy it now if they did.
It would be interesting to compare these to the new Epiphone Inspired by Gibson range
Brilliant
I actually like the walnut guitars better. they have a different mid range and their eq is less v-shaped compared to the standard j-45.
You need to invite Billy Strings on this acoustic show if he is ever in London. The guy is off the chain on the acoustic guitar.
Lol he said it's only 849 and other guy immediately looks in the sound hole to see where it's made. Honestly a really good guitar made in usa for the price.
It would ve great if you compare all new rosewood studio models
So do Gibson charge you more for richlite fingerboard and bridge as opposed to walnut. I'd choose the studio
The sound from John was interesting
The Studio is more janglie which makes it seem louder. The gloss one has more bass.
Studio is brighter and standard has good low end, is it because of satin finish on studio and glossy on standard ?..I have heard that satin or lesser/thinner finish make the top more resonant
I like white binding on acoustics.. it just looks right...The studio just made my short list but no electronics?
what I wouldn`t give to play like Ben!
Cool
Why are these so hard to purchase at the moment despite the guitar stores being open, is there a problem with shipping
Whenever I see the red beard I know it will be fun watching the video.
Thank you.
Every week you make me realize that I need an additional guitar.
That would be a great name for an Andertons house brand: Additional Guitars
John's ears are a hit!!!
Can you please tell me the measurement on the waist and lower bout and the depth? Is the depth like 4 inches maybe? Thank you
please more bass videos!!!!!!!
Please do a video on the fender duo sonic @andertons
Nice playing by the guy with a beard!
John has good ears.
I will tell you, Gibson does now as Martin does the price for left handed guitars are the same as right handed. At least here in USA.
Over the highly compressed CZcams algorithm on my IPad, I can’t tell the difference.
It’s no longer available... Gibson stopped making them.
I’m so glad I got one before that:)
I like smaller bodied guitars. I'd like to see LG-2 sized guitars in this range
The guitars sounded pretty good. The internal pickup was hideous - compressed, flat, and nasal. John's "ears" sounded great over headphones!
Gibson acoustics are the sound of rock to me.
A smaller bodied guitar is louder n the difference is in the fret board. That is how much the fretboard does to the sound. Notice the difference in rosewood n ebony fretbiards. Not a lot be noticable
I would have loved to hear these played sans amplifier...More specs would have been nice as well. They both sounded very nice, well balanced and articulate. Guess I'll have to venture out in the world and have a look/listen for myself.
Sounds groovy.
The Standard does have a little deeper bass because of the richlite fret board and bridge I decided on the studio, with the walnut fretboard and bridge, it is a little brittle sounding at first but, the more it is played the more it opens up and gets fuller sounding. They both come with a real Gibson brown hard shell case, not a cheap one, and are great sounding, and playing guitars
The G is for generation. They're all about the generations campaign right now.
I own G-45 Studio. I think Gibson realize these guitars are too value for the money, and they discontinued it. Now, they sell this new G-45 with playerport, but the buid material quality is not so good as the original G-45 Studio/Standard. Also, the new G-45 have no pickup at all, no binding, and they provide gigbag instead hardshell case. I upgrade my guitar with LR Baggs Anthem, bone saddle and pins, and redwood arm rest. With these upgrades my G-45 Studio is almost the same guitar as J-45 Studio Walnut. Maybe even better because of Anthem. But for half of the price 😬 I was so lucky because I had a chance to buy one of the last G-45 Studio in Europe 2 years ago.
That last little bit at the end just goes to show, most acoustic mic systems aren't great...
Love the intro tune, it reminds me of something that I can’t quite recall, allmanesque. Great progression for the looper. Anyone know what it is?
Does anyone know what strings come on the G45 Studio please?
The Standard sounds a lot fuller, even through the lower mids. The Studio the body resonates less and you hear the strings more. Notice which guitar he goes back to in the post scene? For me that speaks volumes. Really disappointed with the sound of the pickup though.
I noticed that the Studio was strung with Phosphor Bronze strings while the Standard was strung with 80/20s. I'm sure that was a big part of the tonal differences!
More ACOUSTIC PARADISO!!!!!!!!
“I find your lack of back binding disturbing.”
[Darth] Lee Anderton
Caleb Brown There is no comparison. These guitars are junk. I own one. A simple Epiphone is twice the guitar. I own 10 Gibson’s. I love them. These are unbelievably bad.
Can you compare this with the j45 and with the j15?
PSA: Gibson updated the Standard in 2020 and swapped the Richlite board and bridge for rosewood, now calling it the “Gibson G-45 Standard Walnut.” I liked the Richlite more. You do you nephew.
Lots of comments by idiots with closed minds who've never played one. These things sound beautiful and are a pleasure to play. The Standard does sound a little fuller/richer, with a little more bass - you wouldn't think the gloss top and Richlite would make so much difference.
So the G45 with the papier-mache neck costs more?
Lee, one of the best choices you ever made was handing that guitar over to Ben
Great instruments! Both great guitars! And the presentation performance is awesome!!! One thing I don't like - the ugly sounding plugged in L.R.Baggs pickups.
@@emanuelb1154 ... same ugly plucking cheap piezo sound like the L.R. Baggs...
Standard is more balanced, sounds very similar to my j45 😳
So G45 or ab Eastman E10SS ?
Something not right about that internal pickup; it was buzzy. Wonder if it’s a bad battery or over driven. Otherwise, wow for an American made guitar, that’s affordable and worth my hard earned money.
Mick!!! Where are you?!?!? Come on Lee, bring back Acoustic Paradiso with Mick and Pete
Does the G-45 Standard have solid wood back & Sides?
Yeah man, I've got one, all solid woods. Sitka Spruce top, walnut back and sides, utile neck (similar to mahogany apparently) and rosewood fingerboard. They were Richlite, but swapped it to walnut in 2020 apparently. Hope that helps
@@Dexy_Music Cool - thanks. I wasn't too keen on the Richlite - so good to know.
@@Dexy_Music no roosewood!!!
Studio - walnut fingerboard and the bridge.
Standard - richlite fingerboard and the bridge.
I own Studio and I love it!
Ask for a light and you get the history of wood.Literally.
Damn it . I just got the G45 studio “left handed” and paid $1000 +/- !!! I know us lefties are resigned to paying a premium for the way we’re born ...but damn it all , if I were right handed I could’ve gotten mine for $849 !?wth $150+ extra on a somewhat inexpensive American made all solid wood Gibson seems a lil like gouging us left handed people .... man I swear I considered trying to learn right handed , but I could barely hold the right handed guitar compared to almost immediately being able to play a chromatic scale and form open chords real quickly ( C and Dm chords were basically the only hold outs... ) .... and since I’ve gotten stuck not much further than my beginner self ...I tried to consider a right handed world again when starting to replace all my guitars that had become victims of financial issues . But no joy again ...and I seriously tried for over an hr to do the most basic guitar things to no avail ... hence how I ended up with the $1000 G 45 studio 😜😉.... it just ain’t fair I say
Oh shite... just got to the part where Andertons only adds $20 to the price for a lefty ..... guess I screwed here in the American north east by an American online guitar store ..... I did just check another larger online dealer that usually has some sweet deals , and they’re the same price $999.99 left or righty ... so I feel better now ... except I wonder if even with the likely added shipping if I could’ve gotten a better deal at andertons ...?....?but to save maybe $75 ( just guessing at savings possibilities ) is it worth it to not get my guitar in 2.5 days but probably many weeks , and hope and cross fingers it gets here in one piece .......guess I just have to move there
Andertons prices are in GBP, so you got a fair deal given the conversion rate.
If you pay attention to the currency , we generally have lower street prices in the USA , than they do in the UK .
They are revamping and restructuring at Gibson, want to compete with Taylor,So in that vein you got a all-wood body with a pick up system and a hardshell case,Much better improved quality. You don’t even get into real wood on the Taylor until you spend $2500. So good for you Gibson
Also, 90% sure that was Seth rorgan at first.
The only thing that makes Mondays tolerable anymore are the Lee and Ben acoustic jams!
