2020 CFP National Championship (#3 Clemson v #1 LSU) One Hour

  • In the culmination to the 2019 season, a veteran team with plenty of Finals experience meets a newbie who just happens to be undefeated. The Clemson Tigers have built a mini-dynasty by winning five consecutive ACC Championships and two National Championships in the last three seasons. In order to defend their National Championship, however, they will have to face the LSU Tigers, a team with the best offense in all the land and who is playing in their backyard of New Orleans. Heisman winner Joe Burrow leads a wide array of talent for the Bayou Bengals while Trevor Lawrence brings an equally impressive array of Clemson Tigers to Crescent City. It's Tiger versus Tiger in the CFP National Championship so sit back, relax, and watch the fireworks.

    This great LSU team was a lot like the 2010 Auburn team who really put it all together for one season but were not great the year before or the years after. Auburn lost 5 games and then 9 the next two years. LSU lost 5 games and then 7. Enjoy your NC when you get it folks and a different level of greatness is reserved for the teams that go back to back, 2 out of 3...

      @Barney Weiss 2019 LSU and 2010 Auburn defense comparison: both gave up low 40's one time, both gave up 27 or more 6 times, both held a team to 3, and both had 0 shutouts. Pretty comparable to a neutral observer (Nebraska fan, so I'm not bragging about anything in 2022).

    Coach O really got screwed by LSU.

    • @robbinperers8526
      @robbinperers8526 Před rokem

      Kind of did. Coach O brought a lot of it on himself. What the fake media has done is done but don't put it out there and then let fake news just run with it.
      On the team side of things Coach O needed to step up and be "The" tough as nails coach. When games are measured in inches you can not train new players on a feet attitude. Every detail has to count, has to mean something. Your staff is not you. Bear Bryant ran into the same thing in his last 4 years. Bobby Bowden did his last 5 years. This is going back a bit but Don Shula hit the same wall his last 4 years. Coaches can not afford that luxury for themselves.
      Coach O's problem at Ole Miss was not all his fault. That is dramatically over played, even by Coach O himself.
      All University's are party haven's. But none are more well known than "The Grove." Ole Miss has yet to learn a valuable lesson in atheletic's...get your program up and running, organized and then put the numbers on the scoreboard.
      Partying first (the way they party) is arrogance and stupidity. 10 Coach O's can not fix that. That was the central problem Hugh F. had. He is a fantastic coach. The only coach in all of college football that beat Alabama two years in a row. The grove went wild and not even he could control it. Lay aside the fact Ole Miss is only a medium to medium large University but the grove party's like they are World Class Champions on two wins or in getting a big name coach. That was not Coach O's fault. His personal life is and his lack of strict hands on training defeated LSU in 2020, 2021. It did not have to be that way. Ole Miss, I believe, was used as a mental scare tactic inside himself given all the bs rhetoric he received while there for those three years. I think he saw himself on the verge of reliving that at LSU. LSU is a large University and I dont think he wanted that relived a second time. I think that was his biggest mistake...
      He second-guessed himself in the face of 4-5 star recruiting that was not huge at Ole Miss. I think he saw more turmoil so he made less of himself.
      The best book written is the one you pour yourself into. He had an ideal setup for 2020 and I think he could have done another championship run on the 2020 season. Sad.

      @Morris Green Do you know how ridiculous you sound? But I’ll go along with your little delusion. Alabama wanted Nick Saban SO bad, that they conspired with Nick Saban in 2003 or 2004 to leave LSU, go to the NFL, do an okay job and come back to a team that was just on probation for 4 yrs! If that happened and can be proven to happen, then I’ll concede that Bama STOLE LSU’s coach. Btw, didnt Katrina, a pivotal moment in LSU football history, hit in 2005? How many press conferences did I see that year of Nick Saban in LSU gear?
      If anything you should be pissed at Philip Fulmer for ratting Bama out back in 2000, causing us to go on probation and a laughing stock of coaching failures before finally hitting on Saban. Stole your coach. Back when I was younger I was that naive to think that was MY COACH. Especially at Bama now, I’ve learned these guys are all mercenaries! Even Saban has constantly taken Bama to the cleaners with pay raise after pay raise. Luckily he’s paid it back with consistent winning.
