I think November absolutely hit the nail on the head when she described this movie as pornography, and I'd go further and describe it as the most disgusting, degrading, 'would have to go on the Dark Web to find it' version of the comparative softcore that is your average Tom Clancy movie. It's war porn so bad it gives war porn a bad name, and it already had a pretty bad name!
It's pornography for people who think pornography causes moral degeneracy
@@killjamesbondhighlights That's... Actually a perfect and succinct way to describe it.
At least the Clancy brand of military fiction focused on the technology and process of war-this feels exploitative and gross in a way something like Red Storm Rising wasn't.
1:00 I love it when Devon says to Abi "you fool"
Interesting November coincidence between this and the wtyp bonus episode on camouflage, there was a Rambo cartoon series in the '80s, and in one episode they had him fly a pink fighter jet for camouflage reasons.
The theoretical perfect score is 40, it's like Famitsu but for things that are bad
The maximum possible score of course being a 40 out 28.
"I can hate it numerically too" (November) - the way I just screamed in the middle of the kitchen 😂
WE FORGOT THE LINKS?!
Fraid so.
imo the 10 scores should be double o ten (0010). Incredible episode, banger after banger. I'm so excited for the demolition man highlights
It was funnier in my brain that the 10 breaks the joke itself
Stars and Stripes playing in the background while November states how fash this movie is truly sells how awful this movie experience was for everyone. 😅
I have never seen Rambo (2008). This review simultaneously makes me want to watch it immediately and also never watch it ever. I shall live the next period of my life in a state of permanent conflict between the two competing impulses. This phase could last anything between the next few minutes and the rest of my life.
This review of a terrible film is officially a Cognito hazard.
It's not worth it
@@killjamesbondhighlights So you say... but I've already heard three voices I find deeply amusing telling me it was the worst movie they've ever seen. I cannot unhear them. The equal possibilities of inadvertent hilarity and permanent psychological mutilation will haunt me until I eventually submit or die.
bro is signing up to be a d-class
@@chrisball3778it’s bad in a very boring way, you won’t have fun hate watching.
If you wanna compromise, have only the audio of the movie play with none of the visuals. Still would not recommend that especially if you are expecting a "So bad it's entertaining" movie.
Have you done a clip of the whole deconsecration bit from Die Hard 2? I re listened to that ep yesterday and it would make a great clip
Haven't gotten to season 3 quite yet but it's coming don't you worry
"Big cheer for racism."--November Kelly.
Validating my decision to never watch any Rambo movie
I think the KJB crew has the right idea, the first one might be good depending on your read but the rest is just... shit
@@illegalusername5517 The first one walks right up to a good idea and then takes a massive right turn at the last minute, and every movie after continues that right turn
I would recommend watching the first film and stopping there. First Blood is a solid-ass movie and the way it ends is conclusive enough. The difference between it and the pop culture depiction of Rambo is stark.
The first one is a vaguely OK, but very silly story about PTSD. 2 & 3 can be viewed as historical documents illustrating the effect of US foreign policy propaganda on the domestic population. If you want to understand why Reagan got re-elected and Bush Sr. got elected, they're probably very useful cultural artifacts.
I'm not sure that Rambo 4 has any artistic or cultural relevance because I haven't seen it and it sounds truly horrible.
The first was about how the USA always betrays its soldiers and shows how much sense it would make for those soldiers to fight against The Empire rather than for it.
I hope they will do "Men of War", the 1994 movie starring Dolph Lundgren and Charlotte Lewis.
You know it's bad when Abby can't get through half the categories without laughing.
The only Rambo movie is the first.
Fully agree. Imagine a timeline where First Blood only existed.
one where it was more faithful to the book
did you watch rambo 4 to make this? i'm so sorry
I blindfolded myself and put in earplugs. I edited by smell
@@killjamesbondhighlights Now THAT is talent
I apologize if it's a film the show has covered and I missed but I NEED to know what film has the lady firing the heavy machine gun in a dress
That's Helen Mirren in Red
@@killjamesbondhighlights Cheers
ugh. as an ex marching band kid i will now have the stars and stripes forever stuck in my brain for at least a month, thank you so much for this
(i played tuba and sousa can go to hell. the horn named after him is fine, i like those, it's like a satchel you can fit an amazing amount of beer in and still get music out. but sousa you can perform in your sleep and probably should because there is nothing there worth getting out of bed for. ugh. useless. a useless man who wrote useless music)
I was a Euphonist and the countermelody on that song SLAPS
A lot of his marches go hard as fuck. (Source: I’m also a former band kid who played every low brass instrument at one point.)
