Thank you for calling out the dance break accusations! I personally love pop music with the dance break! I listen to a lot of songs that feature dance break music bridges! It's part of the genre and as you said! No one is calling out bands for copying each other for their guitar solos , I'm a big fan of Sarah and this song too! It makes me feel sexy and powerful when I listen to it! She is very sexy in an effortless way and also in a non exploitive way. ❤❤❤

The Debs (Linnea and Joy) were one of the people behind the production of the revamped version along with the original producers and music. The Debs were also behind Sweden 2015 (Heroes) and this year's Sweden entry as well. Glad you enjoyed the revamp like the few of us do!!! Hopefully now she will elevate the song even more by good and memorable staging!!! Hopefully my country gets in the final especially now that is televote only semi.

So, yes! She did struggle live, however, the artists performed 3 times in under 60 minutes because it was live on tape and had to choose their best from the 3. So probably that was her last and she was tired, because I know that she can sing very well live

Baby Lasagna is a copy of Kaarija, but people put him on first place, I don't understand)
But when we have Chanel copy, Malta in bottom 10 almost in all tops! Such a mystery for me😐
I think that is becos the louder "Eurofans" want to "avenge" the fact that Kaarija didn't win last year, so they are desperately pushing for this year's Mr Big Sleeves to win. It would have been better if "Cha Cha Cha" had won last year, then we wouldn't have this fervour. With Chanel not winning there isn't the same anger, so no push for Bonnici.
I found it difficult to pick 10 songs for Semi 1. I didn't like enough of them.

This will all boil down to whether Eurovision viewers will have the same opinion as Eurofans.
Eurofans this year are obsessed with anything ethnic even if it's garbage. Or boring. If a song doesn't scream whatever country its from they don't like it.
And Sarah Bonnici's song doesn't have any Maltese stamp on it. Just like the Cypriot song. Which is why they're not highly rated.
We'll see ... There's very few ethnic bops which I find interesting this year (hello Greece) so let's hope the public does award quality over how many ethnic beats and instruments are thrown at a song.

It's not a strong year. It's a rubbish year. Barely 5 or 6 songs made it to my playlist this year. But Europe always overlooks Maltese songs so hopes aren't high.

...performers in Eurovision Song Contest doing dance breaks is nothing new...at all!!
In fact, since Eurovision Song Contest existed pretty much, dance breaks performed by the artist during an ESC song have been there, as early as 1959 for certain!!
They've been around ESC far, FAR longer than most of the fans themselves have been alive!!
I don't think she's a copy of Chanel, but I don't think she'll qualify. There are too many dancing women's songs this year. Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Austria, Luxembourg. Malta's song is not bad, but there is nothing special about it (in my opinion)
