      Definately, have fished through every winter for the last 4-5 years in this same set of gear

    Looks like awesome gear. Like socks and boots especially. I hate getting my feet wet when launching my boat in winter. Will look into those.

      Thanks, I wear these during boat launch too, waders is another option you can use, just take them off once you have launched

    Great video. Most of it applies to kayak fishing as well. Now I want all that gear 😂

      Yeah I think it would be an ideal setup for Kayak fishing too

    Great video Dave. I’m sizing a life jacket at the moment. Would you have two life jackets one for winter and one for summer? I’m thinking the jacket would be loose in summer when you don’t have all that warm stuff on. Cheers

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching, I seem to get by with the same lifejacket, but yeah it's very tight in winter with the extra layers

  • @ShutterFanatic

    Have you tested swimming and boarding the ski with all that gear in the event you fell off? I fell off a couple weekends ago (not fishing) and really had to swim fast as the wind was taking the ski away from me.

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  Před 3 lety

      No I haven't, but you are so right it's something I need to practice

    • @JK-ru3kt
      @JK-ru3kt Před 2 lety +1

      Would those clothes be water proof if you fell in? I doubt it? The high socks will keep your lower legs dry, then water will ingress down , same for the jacket and everything, there is many paths for the water to flow up and make you wet if you fell in, what you need is a wet suit, something continuous full body?

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  Před 2 lety +2

      @@JK-ru3kt You're 100% correct it won't keep me dry if i fell in, and its bound to happen eventually even though the chance is low. If I was planning on falling in a lot I would wear a wetsuit, the main goal of this setup is to stay dry on the basis of not falling in.

      You can get the Snowbee PVC Thigh Waders if you need the suspenders

    Is that a GoPro camera mount on your life jacket?

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  Před 10 měsíci

      This lifejacket does have a gopro camera mount. It's the Jetpilot Venture lifejacket
