  • Vehicle is here for overall inspection with a focus on the suspension, exhaust and abnormal noises when driving over speed bumps. This video shows a severe lack of fluid services, further another repair facility wants to sell this Consumer an expensive exhaust system repair that is not leaking now. It will need some attention at a later date, we will post another video showing the cracks more clearly and what is the best method for repairing the issue.

    oh and btw, genuine nissan power steering fluid is RED. factory fill stuff is brown on some models but the genuine nissan steering fluid we use at work for warranty repairs is red(everything else gets trans fluid cuz its cheaper and works the same)

    Yes, you can take the bolt out with a 10mm socket. Find a good muffler shop in your area and you can usually have the cracks welded instead of replacing the manifold.

    Sure is a nice driving vehicle, would buy one myself. On these higher end vehicles you must do the maintenance.

    john, what would be a rough (ball park) number for doing all of the fluid changes on this vehicle? Also, did any work get done to the struts?

    • @JohnSadlersAutoRepair
      @JohnSadlersAutoRepair  Před 10 lety +1

      For all the services on the video, including new spark plugs ( some were frozen in so there was extra time involved in that ) the total was around $1,500.00 dollars. We didn't do anything with the struts yet.

    Great video. You should always rest the car back down on the locks for safety. It only takes a fraction of a second to get crushed by a car.

      Tommy Stewart in my experience it will be the fuel system. the QX doesnt get along with 87 over extended periods of time. Also they have timing chain issues that I believe have been recalled in some instances.

    Morning John, I have one of these and have just recently experienced braking issues including intermittent soft spongy break pedal. The brake fluid seems at the correct level but it appears off color. No obvious leaks around breaks or under master cylinder. Would you change the fluid and recheck or just replace the master cylinder?

    • @JohnSadlersAutoRepair
      @JohnSadlersAutoRepair  Před 3 lety +1

      Good morning, I would check the brake pads on all 4 wheels first.
      If they are worn out I would use only factory pads and shim/fit kits.
      Then change the brake fluid and retest.

I have the same vehicle and always took it in for service but im getting a host of problems now that turns out to be very costly. one being that exhaust leak. im going to start checking my fluids myself but that transmission stick is bolted. Is that to keep me out or can I unbolt it?

    • @JohnSadlersAutoRepair
      @JohnSadlersAutoRepair  Před 9 lety

      Jay Log They usually blow when some part of the circuit it's on comes in contact with a ground. Like the wire harness rubbing on a frame rail for example.What make and model is your 2005. What doesn't work when the fusible link blows?

    • @ColeTowsley
      @ColeTowsley Před 4 lety

      it depends on where the oil leak is coming from, and what the cause is. You'll need to get it diagnosed by a professional, but at very least several hundred dollars.

      John Sadler's Auto Repair
      Sorry for not not being more specific. My truck randomly goes out of gear while driving and then I have to let it sit and totally cool off and then it drives again temporarily for about another 30-40 miles. So as I was advised to do, I bought a new transmission speed sensor but I don’t know exactly where it goes on the transmission.

    what is crankshaft position sensor

    • @JohnSadlersAutoRepair
      @JohnSadlersAutoRepair  Před 6 lety

      A crank sensor is an electronic device used in an internal combustion engine, both petrol and diesel, to monitor the position or rotational speed of the crankshaft. This information is used by engine management systems to control the fuel injection or the ignition system timing and other engine parameters.

    • @JohnSadlersAutoRepair
      @JohnSadlersAutoRepair  Před 9 lety +1

      sixstrangtommy Yes! Remove your air intake hose from the throttle body and look for carbon build up, if you have it there is throttle body cleaner just for that. Next, where do you buy your gas? In California, Chevron and Shell is what we use and have no fuel related issues. Arco and some other brands cause lots of concerns like your talking about. Next, go to BG Products website and buy a can of 44K and add it to a full tank of gas to clean your fuel injector spray pattern, the spark plug and the top of the piston of carbon.
