The Nigerian Defence Minister invited Meghan and Harry to promote Nigerian Disabled Veterans joining the Invictus Games. Why is it so bad for Harry & Meghan to accept an invitation. It wasn't a state visit, it was an Invictus visit and if it helps Nigerian Vets to have more constructive lives, isn't that a good thing? It wasn't a presidential visit, and it didn't step on the toes of King Charles because as Tom Bower said, Charles has little interest in Africa because Charles Empirical interest lies more closely with India and Indian mysticism.

This tour would have been so much successful if it was Harry on his own. Personally I didn't feel Meghan needed to be there if it was just for Invictus which is Harry's thing. Harry on his own would have got so much better and positive coverage.

In order for her to be 43% her mother would have to be 86%. That's very unlikely.

I just wanted to say that whenever Peter is mentioned, or talked about, I think of the old video that I saw from the old archives, when he was just a baby, maybe 9-10 months old, and his mother Princess Anne, has him on the couch with her while they are visiting Queen Elizabeth, and at first Anne lifts him up over her shoulders, and then she places him down on the couch beside her, where there is one of Elizabeth's dogs, and baby Peter puts his bare foot on the soft plushy fur of the dog, and then Queen Elizabeth smiles at the sight of that!
I'll never forget that.
I also saw an old video of Peter and Zara, when they were teenagers, and they were answering questions to an interviewer.
What little that I know about Peter is good.
He seems like a nice young man.

I think the world of both Peter and Zara and would applaud the King if he chose to remove the Title of Prince from Harry and instead, bequeath Peter and Zara with titles of Prince Princess. I would be happy to have Mike T as a Duke too. Given Peter and Zara + Mike have never deliberately disrespected the Queen or Charles, they deserve more respect than Harry + Meghan.
I watched a documentary recently that showed various Royals - Q.E.II, Charles, William, Harry, Anne, Edward, Zara, Peter - watching back some old Personal Home Films Videos. They were beautiful, showing snippets of their life as Windsors at home, on holidays, at the beach etc. not being Royals. There's a scene of Charles and Anne on the beach totally buried in the sand by Philip, right up the their heads. All you can see is their head - their faces laughing away. Then there's a bit where they both have a beach towel wrapped around their waists. Anne didn't have a swimwear top on, which was typical of girls at that stage and age of about 7. Charles + Anne are dancing away like hula Hawaiian girls, it's hilarious. Seeing Peter and Zara as youngsters with their snow white hair, seeing Peter, Zara and William running around playing tag in between at least fifty Royals as they're all waiting to start Harry's Baptism. Seeing Peter and Zara, especially Peter, dote over baby Harry. Watching Peter nowadays with his two daughters, Savannah and Isla, who are stunningly adorable + have always both been natural beauties with wonderful personalities. Savannah full of sass and cheesiness in a playful way, with Isla a bit more reserved but just as fun, and they get on so well together, as well as their strong bond for and with their dad, has and is wonderful to see. I hope Peter is happy with Harriet and that he continues to keep his good friendship with Autumn for the sake of their daughters.

Which is why he was the gunner sitting in the second seat next to the pilot. I’ve read these various comments from a variety of people in many different sites. I tend to believe them. All the photos or videos we’ve ever seen have shown him in the gunner’s seat and not the pilot’s. Maybe he didn’t even pass the helicopter pilot’s test? Both his father and his brother are registered helicopter pilots as does his uncle Andrew (and his aunt Sarah).

I'm sorry, but this portrait is completely bizarre, unflatering, jarring. I would even say ridiculous. How can one like it?? Its a 8 ft.piece of canvas painted red with a sad, drawn face peering through. It is a nonportrait. It does not present Charles as king. I would have been offended. Is this artist making a statement.... the drawn, tired-looking face emerging through a sea of red. Why a sea of red? I have thoughts on this, but.. will not express. He should reject it. Why do they give an artist carte blanche on portraits....and statues....they should spell out specifically and check the prigress frequently. These are permanent. Hopefully, this one is not.

When I first saw it, I responded similar to you, until I listened to the Artist give his interpretation and explanation about what he was hoping to convey and why he did the background in a sea of red. He explained that as Charles was wearing the Red Army Uniform, he knew that whatever background he painted, the uniform would remain as he focal point because of the distinct red and this would mean the face of Charles would be lost. So to draw attention to Charles's face and to his hands, he needed the red uniform to blend into the background. Having Charles's ageing hands as a focus was to indicate that he has weathered many storms over his seventy years. That whilst his life appears to be pampered, he has indeed been a man who tilled the earth in a sense - as he created many things from scratch. The Trust Fund through the Prince of Wales that helps millions of youth, the Duchy that promotes sustainability etc. Hands, tell a story. His face was to look authentic, as he is a man in his seventies, who at the first portrait sitting, was healthy, but by the end of it, he was not. It shows his humanness, his vulnerability. The red background was to provide a gentle way to blend the uniform whilst still recognising that red is a regal powerful colour. The butterfly was Charles's decision to show his metamorphism from child to Prince of Wales to King and the fluttering of hope and change that he wants to provide.

The king's new portrait - every time I see it, my first impression is "interesting." But this time, something else popped out to me - King Charles coming through the fire! The fire/testing of cancer? The fire of H&M? The fire of severe challenges Great Britain has right now? Art is often open to multiple interpretations...
