Stadt Nach Acht - Panel talk with Olivia Mendez, Kyle Geiger, Katty Lange

THE ND PROJECT was an official partner of the sixth international conference about nightlife Stadt nach Acht, which was held under the motto NIGHT FEVER - the return of nightlife and its ecstatic promises. The conference deals with various topics such as club culture, urban development, health, safety, and economy.
In this context, THE ND PROJECT host Jonathan invited the three following guests and
exchanged views on the topic "Relationship between artists and their management".
ABOUT THE GUESTS
Olivia Mendez's background as a France and UK-based music journalist, artist, and event promoter imbues her DJ sets with an eclectic range, playfully leading us through deep, steady minimalistic journeys. She is also the founder of the FLINTA collective KONVENT, intending to create positive spaces to reinvestigate and elevate the discourse on contemporary feminism, through site-specific music and art interventions, where she smashes the patriarchy one beat at a time.
Understanding from his own upbringing that not everyone has access to an established techno scene and community, Kyle Geiger has launched his project of inviting people virtually into his studio on his Twitch livestreams. He is a Techno DJ and producer for more than 20 years. The hope of his Twitch project is to recenter the culture to the key pillars often overshadowed by what he attributes to careerism in the industry.
Firmly rooted in the electronic music industry for over 15 years, the trained bank clerk has established Katty Lange in many areas of the music industry. In 2016 she co-founded the booking agency Triangle, after she worked for record label Tresor Records, worked in clubs, as a label manager, and many more. Next to her booking agency, she is also teaching at a music university. Her main focus always remains the realizations of the artist and her employees.
