Sheldon, i side with you, choosing programs to read should be done with tact. Every year the world economic forum releases the future of jobs report. Unfortunately, such valuable information is not so common with us. The document is usually over 200 pages but it is very detailed and projects which sectors that need the global talent pool. The report even goes on to give data on which jobs are losing relevance and which roles have been mostly employed from platforms like LinkedIn over a period of time. I will encourage that going forward people review this report to enable them and their career choices.
The problem isn’t what the school teaches; it’s that it teaches important things to students who aren’t interested in them.

Name you should go ahead and set up a company doing SEO marketing with Google, Facebook, and all the big social media platforms. You can hire a lot of people in Ghana, and you can work for small businesses from the United States and most of the developing countries. That is what they are doing in India and the Philippines; that's what they're doing in most of these 3rd world countries. Virtual assistant, marketing, social media management,.. you are already in the field. Vertical integration

Sometimes people don't understand how the public education system works. They cannot tailor the curriculum for just one person. It has to be specific to a field and general enough to cover a lot of areas under that particular field. Probably you're not using the Trigonometry you're talking about but your mate who took it seriously in class is using it in signals and systems and is currently working with MTN or Huawei for you to be able to make phone calls and enjoy the high-speed internet you use for your streaming. Sometimes you guys should pause and think about the issue and why some things are the way they are. I am not sure you're smarter than the people managing those institutions.

Sheldon, I was in Ghana Telecom and I completed last year. We did AI only in 4th year 1st semester. And it was only theory. We spent the whole semester doing diagrams and calculations, we never put it into practice. Not even one line of code
Means you are not a serious student bro.. school gives you foundation and you add up by learning more.. thats why we have CZcams and udemy etc.. I'm in level 300 in same sch ans I can build AI AND ALOT beyond... school give you the insight... learn and stop watching Netflix

We didn't even learn the right programming language. We learned Java and Visual Basic, which have little impact. I'm learning Data Science by myself.
@@theDiary01the lecturers do not teach well. A lecturer taught a topic for weeks but I did not understand it. Exam was also close. I went on CZcams and spent an hour watching videos on that same topic, and I understood the thing better than the lecturer who had been teaching for weeks. Sometimes it's the lecturers' teaching approach that is wrong
@@ebenezeramponsahbediako8373 Some lecturers don't know how to make the 'message' digestible. I did my grad sch in a developed country. We had an instructor for one of the courses who was very knowledgeable but not good at content delivery. It was youtube tutorials that saved most of us. However, we had the opportunity to evaluate the course as well as the instructor. It's very likely those who took the course after us had a better experience.
Y can't we just mk d educational system more practical and less theory to reduce the issue of the 10yrs work experience before hire

Sheldon GT has been changed from a university college to a fully flagged university. Hence certificates will no longer be handed by Knust but GT it self . Also no matter how small GT is GT is a university and that you can’t compare a technical university to an actual university. Let’s be guided.
