Sylvie Simmons: Music Journalism Masterclass | Synapse Knowledge

Last year's edition of Synapse Knowledge, a series of educational music-makers' meetings, concluded with an online masterclass with Sylvie Simmons, a legend of music journalism, award-winning writer and one of the few women among the predominantly male rock elite who has been writing about music for four and a half decades. She has been hailed as a major player in the history of rock music writing, the BBC even making a documentary about her called The Rock Chick. Sylvie is an editor of the prestigious music title MOJO and has also written numerous biographies, including I'm Your Man: The Life of Leonard Cohen, which has been translated into 30 languages.
As part of Synapse Knowledge, Sylvie hosted an online workshop on music journalism, the transformation it has undergone over the past four decades, writing music biographies and the future of rock journalism.
