Which if the following is true? 1. The relief of back pressure on a 2 stroke was a topic of lengthy discussion in the 2 stroke bible. If i recall, this moves the power band of the engine towards the higher rpms at the expense of lower rpm power. 2. Resting ducks love to hear exhaust holes at 7k rpms.
I don’t want to do this to my engine but at the same time I want to by a lot that can make it go faster? Dose anyone have any tips , it’s a 25 Yamaha 2 stroke
there are 2 obvious benefits. Get rid of the back pressure in the rig and on the same time get rid of exess speed. As a side bonus others on the water will get angry. If theese same guys own 2 wheelers the same can be applied, ie. drill your exhaust pipe before the expansion. Good trick wont get your bike anywhere. There are guys who post tuning tricks here and those who don't, hard to tell who is faster 😁
no more top end speed from this. just a bit better pull away if buried deep.... most people just like the sound..... me personally i like it.. but performance wise its only for the initial pull away, also good if you run over hub props
when on plane properly you already get the exhaust noise from the prop ( or should do if on plane and set up right ).... snouts are the loudest especially if running dry stacked with the lower blocked off.
Why on Earth?? Because you're giving it more airflow.. more airflow requires more fuel delivery. A plug chop should be done and it should be rejetted if needed
and explain how this woukld fuck up a lower unit ? the lower will infact run even cooler not hotter... you get hot exhaust escape from the holes..... go look at a Johnson/evinrude SST60 for a prime example of how this is done from factory.
@@kylegadd6277 no. it makes it louder when NOT on plane.. when on plane you get all the exhaust out the back of the prop that will have a completely clear exit..
are you totally thick ? please explain how on earth your going to take the exhaust manifold out ? you obviously have no idea about outboard motors . do even know what the manifold is ?
so many stupid people who have no clue what this does are too quick to say its nonsense or it dont do anything... please state what motors you have and what props so we maybe able to explaine how crap your set up is and how you can gain better fuel consumption and go faster.....
I like power more than most but to be honest all the mud boats and guys who purposely make boats loud just makes living on the water not as peaceful....its shitty to impose tour noise on others real shitty
@@codyrivenburgh7645 of course you agree itsa waste of time, because yoiu have no clue as to what performance gains it gives, . i bet you even run with cav plate level to the bottom due to being totally ignorant... have you ever noticed pre 1970s motors with exhaust above the gearcase / do you know what a sst60 is or a forma E ? have you ever even looked at a volvo penta outdrive like the SP290 ? go on a performance page and learn a bit be fore sprouting such shit about it beinga waste of time... you clearly have no clue do you. just type in evinrude SST60 and take a look at the gearcase, you might learn something just from that alone. ...
The only waste of time I saw was tapping the holes to plug it back up. Drill it and enjoy the sound. If you don't like the sound that's fine, it's not for you.
no it is not.... if you do not understand why its done then fine, but dont comment its nonesense just because you do not have a clue as to its benefits.... maybe need to learn a bit more about outboards....... most who do this run a over hub prop and dont need exhaust running over the bladesand with this will geta better holeshot......... thats probably been a bit too much for you to take in .
Was that the theme song for "Trailer Park Boys" playing in the background? Ricky, is that you?
😂

I did this with my Johnson 60 but I did 1” holes and use a boat plug
What prop are u running ?
Anything other than drilled exhaust?
What prop is that
you need to get a drill bit that fits the drill so it dont wobble around like that... but this is a good place to drill for exhaust vents..
That’s cool I respect that lol
What do you gain from doing this ..??
Why do you need plugs
Haha sound sweet
From boat to snowmobile with just 2 holes folks.
Did you make a hole on each side?
Yes he did
I don’t want to do this to my engine but at the same time I want to by a lot that can make it go faster? Dose anyone have any tips , it’s a 25 Yamaha 2 stroke
Check the max rpm to see if you can change the prop for a higher pitch

...what?
But this is after the expansion chamber??
Can have that boat i like that one
Just sounds like a blowing exhaust now I wouldn’t of bothered
Dose the lower unit have to come off to drill it ?
No sir, but it’s better to make sure you’re doing it in the exhaust manifold
@@noahellis7011 you mean exhaust Cavity that goes down into the lower above the carrier.... the manifold is right up top ...
@@noahellis7011 just curious, which section is the exhaust manifold?

no not at all.
Dude you can literally see he took it off in the video

Should have got the before and after on the water
Did you have to re jet?
why on earth would you have to re-jet ?
Why on Earth?? Because you're giving it more airflow.. more airflow requires more fuel delivery. A plug chop should be done and it should be rejetted if needed
Absolutely cool though
I’d rather be fast than just loud tbh!
Use brass plugs
actually be better to use cheap zinc plugs.
Personal preference I guess
prepare to fuck up some lower units
