My 80 gallon vertical air compressor needs an internal tank inspection. It's been installed for about twenty years. I expect to need to do a hydro test on it, too. This device will work nicely for the first part of the job.
The very bottom of your tank should be the only problem area if it has a problem. I've had people bring me compressor tanks that have a pinhole leak in them and they ask me to weld it. I have to politely tell them, Not No but Hell NO!!!
The small head has been my go to for years and years. As far back as 1999 when the first CR injector engines started to create problems. Paid high prices for those back in the day.
This is my 4th endo... borescope. Happy to see they finally got a good screen on em. My last ones have a dark tinted screen n also you cant adjust the led brightness. For 40$ its good. Still cant talk the GF into letting me look inside tho ()o(). 5.5mm isnt small enough for a 22 cal barrel tho. 5.56>5.5 but no fitty fit
Solid review, and its better than the Kobalt one I bought at Lowes for the same price. The longer cable might be useful if you have to run it up from the bottom and still want to show the customer without them crawling under the machine with you.
Just got to say the ''shorts'' really suit your character and your funny lines delivered at speed. I think you are so clever to, i hope, capitalise on that option. I like seeing someone do well and love your humour - Oh and its educational too. It's one of the first things I look for. PS I'm a Makita owner and did buy it to match my shoes.

The refresh rate, or FPS, is low so that each frame of the video can absorb more light. More light = brighter, more detailed pictures. That's how scientists get such good pictures of stuff in space. In this case the issue is that the tiny end of the boroscope and limited light from the LED means that each frame wouldn't be getting enough light if they jumped the FPS up fast enough to look good and not blur when moving. So it's a balance. On one side is a responsive video recorder you can't see anything worth looking, and on the other you get a great looking stills but motion blurs it all to heck. Of course that's not counting the $$$ of the tech and the little extra to give you better focus at longer distances. You get what you pay for. Personally I'd be more invested in the very close focus and resolution. You can always just explore wider spaces with a closer look if things get too far and blurry, even if it's kind of annoying, but if you can't be sure what you're looking at when you can't get any closer then you're just shit out of luck.

i think i would want one that connects to my phone instead of having it own screen cause i feel like thats where the company would go cheap would be on the display but i have a couple of them that connect to ur phone with bluetooth or wifi an they actually work pretty good, ive never saved any of the footage an looked at it after the fact on my computer but the imagine on my phone was always clear an its not connected to the scope so u can put the phone down an watch it while ur using ur hands to get whatever done, if u using it to be able to see what ur doing then its real nice being able to have both hands free but it is probably the same with a unit like u have.
Last time I saw someone hold a mirror like that, the last thing I remember was “don’t clench” Or was it found the wrench, not sure my english is a bit bad. Either way we got that engine right in there and i can walk upright now.

I have a Klein ET16 borescope... It's really nice but the connection that yu plug into the phone is bad and Yu have to move it around to get it to show video, I bought 2 of them to see if it was just the first one but nah they both do it.. Every one says fiber optic and I wouldn’t be surprised if most people actuall believe that. Your high end sewer cameras with 200’ reel have nothing more that coaxial cable with a fiber glass rod in it. And then plumbers call it fiber optic for the rest of their lives.

Biggest peeve would be the cable storage.
It is big. I keep it in the original foam packaging and that in a case I keep for stuff I don’t want to get broken.

As someone who is getting into covert entry a borescope is an invaluable tool.

I bought the kobalt one off ebay for $27 and that's about what it is worth to be honest. I have had Chinese $10 special ones with a better picture.
I have a real cheap one that uses my phone/tab as the screen. Seems to work about the same but proba little cheaper since the screen isn't needed.
