You do not need to speak fluently. They teach you quite quickly. On the job training helps to learn a language, A.K.A every superior screaming at you in french. I've possibly seen a Japanese gentleman learn it faster than me.
5 french words per day is the minimum asked then a total of 500 words is required at ther end of a basic 4 month training.
I was a marine in the Netherlands for 4 years and then served in the Foreign Legion for 7 years.
From the start it is very strict, hard, learning the language with a buddy, rules are different and punishments are very severe and certainly not like the regular army, marines or commandos for example.
If you did something wrong, you were also hit and kicked, and as punishment you had to clean the stairs with a scraper or brush, even in -10 degrees or walk around in the Sahara and in your shorts with stones in your hands, but okay you want to be the best in the world :)
and returning home alive after a mission, we trained with the best armies in the world, for example the SAS from England. After the Gulf War it was enough for me and I am now a real estate advisor at the municipality. French Foreign Legion, best time of my life :)
I've seen many documentaries about the French Foreign Legion (à la télé, quand j'étais gosse, ils montraient souvent des documentaires sur la Légion Étrangère, les Képis Blancs et le fameux "tiens, voilà du boudin"!) but I don't know and never talked to anyone who's actually been there. Question: does everyone get a new identity? What happens when you leave, can you choose to keep the new identity or do you go back to your previous life as it was before you joined?
@@Sadlander2 A legionnaire must join under a new identity, because everyone is going through the same thing. This was not always the case and this may change in the future. After a year of service, a legionnaire may serve under his own name. After three years of service, the soldier can obtain French nationality provided he has not committed any criminal offenses during those three years of service. French nationality is only obtained under the original birth name and date of birth and only if there is no (excessive) criminal record. After five years of service, a legionnaire who signs up receives Regular status, which means that he receives the same rights as any other French soldier outside the Legion. Legionnaires can sign up for contract extension after five years, 1 year each time if you want, after fifteen years of service they receive a small pension that can be enjoyed internationally, the more years of service and the higher the last rank, the higher the pension.
if you leave in the first five years, you will go to prisson

During the war for the independence of Algeria (1954-1962), my mom was then a kid. Her neighbours were soldiers from the foreign legion. They were very nice with local children. They gave them candy, toys etc. I dont know if it was bc they were foreigners and not biased by colonial way of thinking (algeria was a very important French colony), but they treated them as human and as any other kids. They were kind with them.
She is 70yo. And since she married my father 45 years ago, she lives in France.
She was traumatized by the war. She is afraid when she sees soldiers and afraid when she hears fireworks and helicopters etc as they reminder her of the war. Yet every 14th of july (national holiday for France), she stoppes what she is doing and go watch the foreign legion during the défilé on tv on the Champs Élysée. Then she goes back to what she is doing.
70year old and she still remembers the kind foreign soldiers who gave her chocolate and a doll !!
Hi ! Your mom’s story is very touching. 😊 My dad was a military for 19 years ( not in the foreigner legion ) and he said that when he was in mission, they were playing with kids etc… but some military from other country ( who are not in the foreigner legion either ) were very rude and mean with them so I think that humanity is one of the skill request by the foreigner legion. Have a good day and I hope your mom is better despite her traumatism ! ❤
@@Neelipau 😊 tell him that, somewhere, there are probably people remembering him and talking about him to their children or grandchildren as my mother does. Wars are traumatizing and a simple smile or kind gesture can be very important for a kid. Some simple things for people can be important memories for others and make a difference ❤ the stories from my mother influenced me and my family. You see wars, even far away, with different eyes.
i rectify a detail , algeria wasnt a colony back then , it was a french state , which is a bit different status .
@@minimummoimeme9774 yes. You are right. Sorry, english is not my 1st langage.
Algeria was a very special colony. It was part of France contrary to the others. It corresponded to 3 then 4 states. They used to have the french nationality. That s why France did not want to get rid off it so easily. The war lasted 8 years with a big political impact.

If you want to understand a little bit what is French Foreign Legion, check what happened in Camerone battle (4/30/1863). 62 men held a postion a whole day to protect a convoy. Facing them, 1,200 infantrymen divided into three battalions, including one militia battalion, and 500 regular cavalry supported by 300 bandidero irregulars on horseback.

I know one thing about the Legion. They are highly trained, hardened, and professional. If I was ever in trouble, my first thoughts would be I hope the FFL or SAS would come to my rescue. Nowadays, Navy SEALs are Hollywood. I would want a secretive and highly skilled unit to get me out of trouble, no attention-loving glamour boys.
I totally agree with this!!!
It doesn't seem like you understand much about the US military. Navy SEALs specialize in quite a few things, but one of their specialties are hostage rescue. Just because they get a lot of attention from media doesn't mean they're not professionals at their job. The U in your spelling of glamor tells me may haps there is some jealousy over how popular the special forces from across the pond ended up being. lol
@@mattp.6660 Nope. Not jealous and I was born in the US and I have had many friends and family in all branches of the US military. I also worked with USAF Special Operations during my career in OEM.

FFL is a regular army they are train like french regular army they are not french sf
My old school friend and I were bullied mercilessly at school. I didn’t see him for 10 years after leaving school. So I’m in a pub in london and this enormous guy with skin like leather rocks up to me and says, “Hey dude, it’s been a while”. Bought me a beer and we caught up. Imagine if I was one of the bullies? What would have happened? He had been in the foreign legion.
Legio Patria Nostra 👍 👍 👍 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
I always felt like part of it was also to conceal your real identity and provide a layer of extra security for the organization (the Legion), the individual (the Legionair) and everyone related to the real/original identity of all Legionairs. Since France had a lot of colonies in Africa in the past and the Legion has been deployed in Africa constantly. If a Legionair, from African decent, is caught in Africa his real identity could put his family at risk. Seeing that the Legion has a permanent force of 300 troops stationed on the African continent ever since 1967 the aforementioned situation is absolutely plausible.
Since the Legion accepts applicants from all over the world and is deployed all over the world, chances are they will not only fight army vs army but also combat paramilitary groups. In places like French Guiana in South America, a country that for 98,9% is covered by forests, a large part of which is primeval rainforest used for trafficking drugs, poaching and illegal mining. The groups behind these activities are not bound by the Geneva Conventions. French Guiana is a French overseas territory and around 2000 French troops are stationed there, 675 of them Legionairs. The country has been the home base for the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment since 1973 until present day. So again a situation as above, of a Legionair being captured is not impossible.
So creating a brand new identity which is only known to the Legionair himself and the Legion there is nothing linking him to anyone, a Legionair can't be blackmailed or forced by an enemy willing to threaten family members. They themselves are most likely trained to resist 'advanced interrogation techniques' but that means nothing when being forced to watch family members receive that kind of treatment.
Of course I could be completely wrong and I'm not saying that this is the only reason or even the most important one, it might be part of it.
It was mostly because a lot of legionnaires were former nazis at the time
Hi, I am french.
I know if you are recruited you have to learn french, so the legion will teach you (you don't have to know french before being recruited)
I wonder why they didn´t let Stan through, from what we could see, he seemed like the perfect fit for a soldier. Physical prowess, great attitude, and probably a promising leader.
Maybe something in his past they didn´t like.
Maybe he told them that he wanted to have a career as he states in the documentary. Could be they want you to say you wanna join in order to serve France above all, not for personal reasons. After all they want you to be ready to die for your country, this is the real deal....
Or maybe he didn't check all the boxes at the medical exam
Really enjoy your content, keep at it! Have enjoyed your content for a while now, you were under the suggested awhile back while watching the fat electrician. I get pumped now when either of you upload.
Legionnaires come from many countries, friend or foe, the change of identity helps protect families staying in the country.
all the instructor and officer on the video speak french but with accent from all the world none of them is a native speaker, kinda cool
Some can be native speakers, if they come from a former colony (like in West Africa, or Quebec) where french is the main language. But french citizens are not allowed to join the legion, at least officially.

There's a ton of great videos on Legion. As for that guy he came here cuz they are the only professional military that accepts foreign recruits. He would have to try for citizenship in another country, like USA , Can, UK etc to join their military. Not easy.

The recruit procedure is the best method to maintain the level of excellence of the Legion. Failing is not a shame, they tried, but it wasn't engough for the Legion cursors of expertise. When you see the next weeks of training and after, the kind of missions légionnaires have, the recruiters can easily judge if the candidate will succeed or not. The sooner they "come home" the better it is for them.
Legionnaire Taylor Cavanaugh who was a navy seal went and joined the Legion. Hes been making the podcast circuit telling his story. Really good listen
I also recommend Joel Struthers on the Jocko Willink Podcast.

I saw a series on the Foreign Legion, years ago, done by Bear Grylls. Since then I’ve watched several more docs on them, it’s fascinating!
The Legionnaire's vows are quite something to hear
Before scrutinizing their selection and ID process, remember the history first. The FFL was first created in the 1800s to deal with the refugee/immigration and criminal crisis in France. Naturally, they were going to be different, but they were and are their own unique force and brotherhood. Yes, they can get their slate clean. After service, they have the option of a new identity and passport. The legion was the hardened military force sent where France had interests BUT wanted the option of denial if anything went badly. Their loyalty is to their international military brotherhood first, then France. "Legio Patria Nostra" The Legion is our Country is their slogan.
I think about traveling to another country to experience the training as a Marine and say I did it when I completed it
Stan - the Spanish have a legion too. If you've passed British selection you will be okay, just tighten up your speed. The legion march slower than most, it's almost a funeral procession. Ex paras would want to join 2nd rep.
You should do a video on MARSOC Marines, they're pretty similar to the Royal marines. I'd say they are the US equivalent.

you dont have to speak french to enter but you have to pass the final exam
You do not need to know French when you apply to the Foreign Legion. Those who are selected to become a Foreign Legionnaire are sent to a farm where they have 6 months of basic training and there they have French lessons to learn to speak French. Then you have to undergo the very tough training in the jungle where there is high humidity, so if you don't have a water-resistant watch, it will stop.
It is very tough training and there are constant trainings and exercises.
It doesn't matter if you have done in your home country like Royal Marine, US.Marine, US. Navy Seals or otherwise, these are nothing compared to the tough ones you have in the Foreign Legion.
Then there are strict rules for those who have become Främslings Legonär, you may not own a bank account for the first 5 years, you may not own a car either.
Since you have changed your identity, you are protected and if relatives or others from your home country look for you, they will not find the person. and you are a French citizen after changing your identity. If you choose after the 5-year contract has expired, you can choose to keep the identity you got when you joined or take back your old identity.
lies pure lies, the people who have been in other militaries will find it easier and if you have been in seals or sas its walk in the park. the legion isnt the best force in the world its just a inf unit with many specialists jobs. some say they are not highly trained and not highly disciplined in the field.
I was in the French foreign legion. The basic training is 4 month, after that you will be assigned to a company. You don't have to go to the jungle unless you are assigned to the 3ème REI in French Guyana. French foreign legion is tought but not as tought as commando. French Foreign Legion are regular troops. Today all legionnaires have a bank account. Your identity can be changed but personnally they didn't change mine. You didn't become a french citizen when you enter the French foreign Legion, you can become french after some times if you serve with honor. You can come in the Legion even if you don't know any french word, you will be teach french in the Legion. The first contract is 5 years.

Are There are other Foreign Leagions, that the washouts can apply for?

The main reason for the new identity is for the first five years contract, recruits have no legal existence outside the legion in the civil life in France. With that fake identity They cannot open a bank account, rent or buy an appartment or get married. After this first 5 years contract if things have been on the good way the man receive a good conduct certificat and with that paper starts the process to get his french citizenship.
In "Légion étrangère" you don't need to speack french floodly for join the army, because you'r brother in arms will teach you french during your class. "Sorry for my english but, i'm french"
you get a new identity and that plethorically for the first 6 months and then you get to choose if you want to go back to your usual name. If you pass the first test
Not for all people, i was in the french foreign legion, i kept the same name.
The foreign legion means what it means...FOREIGN, so where ever you come from in the world, it's ok to enter the selection..even if you've just come out of a prison..but no murderers and rapist. The first thing you have to be is being a good friend ( camarade in french), always loyal to your boys and chief, confident, enduring. At the end of your service you can get the French nationality...if you want it.when you rejoin the civil life, in several cases it's easy to find a job, and of course you have owned the greatest respect a frenchman (woman it's more and more till the 7th sky) can have for a military person. if you want to see more about this, follow Major Gerald .

Bonjour d'Occitanie (France)
Legio Patria Nostra 🇫🇷
I read somewhere that in the 50s, you needed to learn German to understand the recruits. That new identity and French passport was looking pretty attractive to them.
It was. Many German joined after World War II. After every big wars in the world, you will find the « losers » or « bad ones » nationality over represented in the foreign legion. Serbian for another exemple after the Balkan war in 1990’s
The reason why they get new identity the Foreign Legion is that no foreighne can serve in the French Army, so for their time of service they receive a new name and a French military ID.
‘Stan’ doesn’t get through, he’s found to have a heart condition and fails!
Tbey would've failed their interview or back ground checks.

Im french and the translation is very good
6:38 In reality if you did no major crime the legion will take you. in fact a lot a ppl join the legion avec a little bit of prison, they give you an entire new identity, so basicaly you did no crime. Even the french who join the Foreign legion, they get an foreign identity. They do an intense check-up, but it's not a absolute stop if you did something wrong. (At least it was like that 30 year ago)
It was obviously to me anyway, that it was one of two things. During the interrogation/questioning, (psych test), they didn't like his response(s). Or there may have been something in his background that they didn't like. My guess is it was his "psych test". He was being watched and tested without him knowing it. When it came time to be questioned, they were going for the 'kill' and how is he going to handle it?
I was in a psych test that lasted for 3 days. What I didn't know was that the 3 weeks I was there I was being psychologically tested. I'll bet the same type of thing was going on in this case as well.
This is hard to state clearly, but there is a way to be a natural leader without standing out as one. There's more than one way to demonstrate leadership. There's more than one way to demonstrate 'team'.
Yes, and he said to the other recruit, there have been lies about his past in the interview - maybe that was HIS lie in the whole story. We don't know, since we haven't seen how the interview actually went, our only source is his statement.
The Gabonese guy failed the IQ, Intelligence Tests. The Scots bloke flopped the "Bleep Test". The Gabonese guy was told - that was it - over he couldn't reapply. If rejected, you can re-apply in 6 months' time. with the 'Gestapo' Interview/s, they have Translators. The FFL really ain't expecting foreigners to turn up & be fluent French speakers.
Way back in the 1950's, when the English dude, Simon Murray, was going through, he met this other English bloke who was a Cambridge Graduate in French Literature. This guy used to correct the French Officer's Grammar!
You do just walk up
And they are the back bone of the French Army, because we call them "chair a canon", its the frontline of the frontline, the first to deploy in very hostile territory, we call them also the sweeper.
And when i say hostile, bet your ahh that 3/4 of your squad is gonna die.
Can you react to the IMA passing out parade 2022 And/Or

i feel like the whole identity thing is because like you said the legion takes anyone even criminals , so in theory back in the day you could be on the run and if you made it there and made it you could be accepted , I'm sure laws are different now , minus like suppper serious crimes
Legion looks pass small crimes but if you have murdered someone or made some sexual crime then you cant join
It is also because some countries do not allow their citizens to join the military of another country. So if someone tries out and fails, he can go back home and everyone can deny, that he was there.
Quite a few former members of the Waffen SS joined the legion after WW2
Around 10% of the german soldiers who joined the legion back to Indochine war, apparently.

I disctinctly remember they used to teach people French, but that was before Barkhane, so I don’t know.
They learn you basics during initial training period and after that you must rely on your fellow soldiers/self studies. It was actually an issue (don't know if its like that anymore) that a few got kicked out since they didn't learn fast "enough" to not disrupt/delay exercises. This was during field exercises in the final selection.

that's the whole point of the legion. it offers a chance to rebuild one's life completely, which is why they only disqualify rape and blood crimes. because at the end of his contract the legionnaire will be able to request French nationality with his new identity
I'm not into army stuff but you sound like a cool dude...subscribed!
The reason why they change the name and give a new nationality is because they accept almost anyone. If you have precedents they don’t really care. As long as you’re fit. A lot of young people that want to leave a life of crime go into the legion as a final resort to change their life. I know a guy that had a troubled past and one morning left and joined. Nobody heard from him for long, after years he reached out saying what he did.
There are also school tests, maybe he failed those...
Or he could potentially have been deemed a security risk if he (or his family) had murky backgrounds
Or he could have failed some part of the medical checkup...
Plenty of things he could have been rejected for.
The legion used to fight the Chinese at the border with Thailand for Thailand...when the French were trying to get a foot old in that country. would have been a mud hell!
I might be wrong but they don't take people that commited "blood" crimes. Maybe there's an exception if this was for self-defense tho, but then it's not a "crime".
it's a hand full who knows french but you learn fast they teach you 3 new words a day and every day that goes by you have to learn or yout ass kickt out
Couple of details regarding the Legion and the process you're going through.
Yes, the Legion takes all.
Except... People who are responsible for a "Crime de Sang".
Historically, people who had been sentenced (in any allied country) for having shed blood and by extension murderers and the likes.
Also yes, you will be offered a new identity, with the added benefit of being offered the choice to keep that identity (or claim your former one back) as a newly French Citizen once you will have completed your journey with the Legion. Usually around 5 years.
And I don't know of any other language course that teach you French faster than the Legion does to be honest ... 😅
For having dealt with a couple of those...
There's 2 extremes...
On one side, wonderful guys. Will put my life in their hands with my eyes closed. Reliable soldiers, remarkable fighters.
On the other hand of the spectrum, broken pieces of human beings. Beyond scary.
Thankfully, most of them are nice people with tons of stories they will refuse to tell you, because "It Is The Way". 😉
Remember the Battle of Camerone.
Honneur et Fidélité !
Another exception they don't take... is french citizens. They officially only take people from foreign countries, are french citizens are not eligible to enter the legion.
Changing name is not automatic, i kept my name, they will change your name for some reasons, political or others but most of legionnaire keep their real names.
@@chrisdelaplante5515 "Changing name is not automatic"
Sorry, but that's kinda wrong, as the first question in the FAQ on the Legion website clarify:
"Faut-il obligatoirement changer de nom ?
Oui." (Is it mandatory to change name? Yes)
However, you can later (after at least 6 months) recover your own identity and serve under it. But you need for that to file some papers to ask for it.
But apparently that mandatory change of name only became mandatory in 2015, so maybe if you served earlier some people were not forced to change names for those first 6 months?
@@daedalron Maybe, i served in the 90's and i didn't have to change name.
guys also you are not acceptated if you had a conviction ( nomatter how small, even community service!!) related to drugs...any drugs
11:26 Not you don't: they teach you.
Or at least they did. If they don't teach French anymore from zero, then it means something has changed a lot.
4:45 The scrutiny in the interviews is also a way to make sure there's no potential spy entering (there is a detailed background check done by the counterintelligence department in France on every person joining, since they are from foreign nations (no frenchmen is theoretically allowed in the legion))
Frenchmen are allowed in the Legion, they are just given another French speaking nationality such as Swiss, Belgian, Canadian,..
Also, all the officers are French in the Legion.
standard army compared to foreign legion its a joke i was in foreign legion in 2010 with my brother its not for everyone,in the web or video they don't say anything about exactly what they are looking for if you are not in the profile of the foreign legion it doesn't matter who you are from where you are, for them you are out
that guy speak fluent french
you have to speak somewhat french to go to the legion (at least understand instructions)
as a french i couldn't since i don't have the physical ability
edits : it's probably as hard as joining the gign
they are legends
it may have changed but not "from any country": french people can't join the legion (well, they use a loophole and as incorporated as foreigners)
They can join the legion as officer.
I would be interested in and maybe others would too. Is a reaction to the Spanish Foreign Legion. From what I’ve read it’s similar but not well known and has much harder and brutal training
They will have found something in his past that did not agree with them. Being dismissed outright, when you wanted to join and you had the ability to do so, it must suck.
I've also read that the Foreign Legion will not mistreat an adversary when the adversary surrenders. They will then stop fighting them. They have a strict code of honour. Also, they are not to be trifled with. These guys are the real deal. When they engage, they are not phoning it in.
True story: it's december 31, 2000. I'm at the Champs Elysees, to see the firework at new year. There are a lot of people running around. I see a lot of women being groped and assaulted [I'm not making it up, I was astonished that it happened so openly]. There's 6 people in a small group. 3 women, 3 men. Everybody made sure not to get close to them. It was like they were shielded. All the three men were wearing a white beret. 3 Legionnaires. There was nobody who had a pressing need to find out when they attack a legionnaire or his lady. Not worth the bother.
you must complete 100 pull ups to join DINAPS = foreign legion seals
you dont need to speak french to join , but your goal is to learn 3 words per day (1000 per year + songs)
if you want to know more , sgt cavanaugh made excellent videos about what it is to join the FL, consider they will break you , starve you , empeach to sleep...and something you have to know , if you die in combat , they will carry your body all battle long , you have to deserve it and you have to be able to do the same for your brothers in any conditions without complaining .
legionnaires are not spe ops , they are storm troopers , it is not like you jack ben laden's house and go home , you will walk during days and fight during days non stop and come back without leaving anybody on site ; some can say "my unit is the best , my selection is the hardest because blahblahblah" but once you're in FL you will make real war on the front line , not a 2hours barbecue against insurgeants ; keep it in mind .
good luck to those who dare to join , and honor to the braves .
00:05
My thought is he showed up to much character to join a group such as ffl. Like difficult to fit the mold (should have talked less). Good luck to him.
They didn't say it, but you can't join if you are a citizen of France.
Yes you can, but they'll give you a new passeport from a french speaking country like Belgium or else.
You can as an officer
These are dangerous men, people 😬
French foreign is a sélection of one human's type: Skinny cat: fast, light, agile, enduring, and very important: mentaly unstoppable...
It was the général model of frenchs armies for many century ans that' s why the French army is recordman in history for victories on battlefield... but this model is now just for the elite' s corps French Foreign, Alpine hunters (ULTRA SKINNY CATS)....
now the regular french army is made like american army heavy fantassin but not mobile and enduring. I work with an ancient Alpine hunters since ten years he is always impressive enduring réactive if France want survive at the future this model is the only one : back to the base
He wouldn’t be in the documentary if he was accepted.
Says who, I’ve seen videos from active French Foreign Legionnaires
FFL are not Special forces, they are regular troops, no need for hidden identities.
Over-imaged some parts of the process, but....fine for a little movie I guess.
*First of all , you are not left alone first days like is shown, you are always under an officer , almost 25h/24h (no no , 25h is not a mistake). You dont really have a ''free time'' like depictured.
*Second - the questioning is not described at all. Its a fucking movie, not a reality. In reality you pass trough , what we all call-called the Gestapo. They will get your FULLLLLLLLLLLL biography , they do research on their own , they request Interpole data on you etc etc etc. You have to give them your all. And changing identity is a tradition...but not a strict requirement. I kept my name, all of me. So, its up to you.
*For physical test, not all shown as well, you have lot of tests. Pullups just a little part of it. The ''cut off'' limit is about 10. Even 15 years ago Legion had SO MANY candidates , so you actually needed to train a year before you join. Competition is fucking strong, like you are joining spe ops (which is reality you do).
There is a thing you have to keep in mind - if you are a big guy , more than 90kg, even if its all muscles - you will most likely not pass. Legion look in the first place what they call ''Chat maigre'' = the slim cats. Thats about 65-70kg , very low fat , strong muscles. Thats why the big guy , im sure, was out. 9 pull ups and his weight....meh....nope.
*They dont mention in the video all IQ and intelligence tests. Those play a HUGE role, because legion always need a officers reserve. Even if you do average on physical , if you excel in IQ and intelligence test - they will get you. And if afterward you show determination and keep working on physical - they will very soon approach you to train yourself for a Sergeant cursus, which is like x2-x3 times harder than regular. And, I will be honest - you don't meet the brightest men in the Legion intelligence like. In my promo we got like a half who do know how to write or read. So the IQ and Int tests are very important to keep brain reserve in case they need to replace an officer for any reason.
*No, you dont need to speak French at all ,you will learn. On questioning etc , as you mentioned - there are so many people all over the world , they will find some one who can translate.
Also , if you dont speak french , yeah , it will be very very very hard for you. And since Legion is already hard . that puts an extra tension you can brake off.
But all they show is a mere first 7 days at the campus. Because this ''selection'' is only an illusion - you are NOT a Legionary until you finish your first year , there are lot and lot and lot of tests and training to come and you can be kicked out really fast. Lot of people brake during bootcamp , called ''the farm'' , where the only goal is - brake you down, test your mental resistance.
If you perform well , and end up in 10 bests - you have a privilege to choose to which regiment you wish to join. That's huge. Because if you really came here to build yourself up in these 5 years - you go 2de Regiment des Parachutists, you will live a hell , you hell strong you will be for the life after.
If you wish to look on what's going on next - you may find SOME pieces....but never its whole. Legion keeps low profile on most of its practices, because if everyone knows how they train - everyone will get ready and there is no point!
The best bet , if you want to learn more about it - question an ex-legionary.
I’ve seen a documentary and you had to learn French by a certain amount of time. They’d have a French instructor and it was a fast course on French. If you can’t pick it up, then I believe you could be released.
I’d assume it’s still that way, since French Foreign Legion is big on tradition so I don’t see them changing that.
No, they will teach you french, but even if you are not good in french they will keep you.
Bye
French legionnaires have a small text (and others and songs of course )to describe themselves , i share it in english for you
Legionnaire is not stupid , Legionnaire is smart.
The legionnaire is physical , he runs , he climbs the rope , the legionnaire is strong. Legionnaire is a good comrad.
Here we remember our brothers who died in combat.
I watched a documentary about the foreign legion many years ago and to me it seemed like a bit of a cult.
You are right, you have to be able to learn to speak French.
I have a feeling that Stan got kicked out because he was a little too smart. The Legion tears you down and rebuilds you from the bottom up, and let's just say that less intellectually gifted candidates make for better results.
Stan was not a good choice.
They're right 😌
I'm almost sure than u can be a murderer and still come here, the past is the past
you will get rejected
you probably watched one of the shittiest documentaries about the foreign legion - it's very superficially covered, as you said, it's only about joining
people joining the foreign legion are willing for joining france, its values and its ' top of the breed'; they are welcome cause they proved they served our country
most of the time they deserve the french nationality, when they beg for it ( probably more than lots of morons living in the suburbs), ok there might be a couple of ones betraying the values, so...
well intergrated, speaking our langage, hard working
perfect for us........and most of the time when they live, finding a job is not that difficuult cause people know the way they work
cheers
' leave', sorry for my phone
But the legion will not take anyone on a sex charge
