This is a long video so scroll down for the contents to skip through to certain patches.
The Erica Synths Black series VC EG (voltage controlled envelope generator) and expander bring a unique trick or two to the envelope world and to be blunt are just ace! There's tweak knob responses so the times scale from 0 seconds to 1.5 seconds at 12 o'clock on the knob then from 1.5 seconds to 12 seconds full clockwise. The expander adds a unique CV mode that breaks out the envelope stages into independent CV sources. This is different from the logic mode that gives us a gate outputs while that stage on the envelope is active as each output is variable. The attack output (in CV mode) will rise from 0 volts through the attack time and shape set on the module and then as it hits the decay stage that voltage drops to zero. The decay output then immediately rises from being inactive at 0 volts to full voltage and decays in line with the decay time and so on. This is a long video as it really opens lots of opportunities with the features mentioned and a few other bits. So here's a clickable set of contents to skip around.

beautiful beautiful drones divkid...unbelievable!!! just starting my journey into modular and some of your videos have inspired me alot! :D
Nice to hear that, thank you.
Interesting module, great demo as always. This module gave me an idea how to achieve quite similar effects with 2 maths or 4 make noise functions when each channel triggers a gate from the "end of cycle" (or rise) and fires the next envelope which eventually fires the next one. Basically this can be done by intellijel quadra + expander though reproducing a classic adsr shape which may be used on the volume amplitude vca will be quite difficult and not so straightforward as with this module, but obviously quadra+expander will give you more control with 2 knobs per each of the four segments which is pretty cool.
there's way to achieve similar results definitely. The CV outs on the expander are totally unique though and I haven't seen those before.
great demo
Nice one Alan.
Interesting - some ADSR's have CV input level ctrl to each A-D-S-R section ( like the TipTop Z4000 ) but the is the opposite .. it really opens ideas for new patches !
well the expander gives you the opposite. But those inputs and mini-pot attenuators on the main module give you CV over each of the ADSR sections. So it's both! :)
ah -- does both ! ...yet more stuff i gotta have
:) CV inputs are on the module CV outs on the expander.
I have to check is all that to be possibly build thru a control forge and satellite by Rossum, as all env are designable and logic, triggers and reset as well are at hand, wow that is a task for me, talk to you after two days or a week ?? haha
haha have fun trying to replicate it and let me know how you get on.
digging this EG, doesn't seem to be available yet?
Fabrice Million Id like to know as well
Hey Fabrice and Deryk, this is available on there site now. Bit of miscommunication with the release date so this went up a few days earlier than the product.
