- Travelling on dual carriageways or motorways are normally very relaxing, but we will need to concentrate when leaving the fast-moving flow of traffic if we are to keep safe. We must plan our exit, position our car in the correct lane, and then slow the car down before approaching the next junction. If we make a mistake during this process we may put ourselves in danger, so in this video, we will show how to leave dual carriageways safely.

Passed my driving test first time, today, with 2 minors. I had a great instructor, but watching your videos between classes helped manage my anxiety and improve my confidence as I could see how to deal with various traffic situations before experiencing them for real.
Thanks a lot for these videos. They’re really well-made and I’ll continue to remain subscribed to see more.
Well done - 2 minors is great! 🚙👍🏼
Boris de Melo

Your videos are just gold guys, short, sweet and straight to the point.
Thank you for this video - I found it to be very informative and will definitely be watching this over and over again to learn exactly what to do - before my Driving Test . A massive Thumbs up for the commentator speaking in a calm and relaxed voice - explaining each move to take . I recommend this site for the excellent videos and information .
I passed my test a week ago and this really helps to improve confidence on slip roads
These videos are great! I like how you show the pedals on a separate view. Really useful for manual car drivers!

I have my test on Friday morning 🚗💨
@@English-Rose Oh thank you so much. I hope all goes well for you on Friday.
I just use them as a road msm checks and keep up to speed and overtake if needed and I get a bit confused with difference between dual and single but if it's single or dual as lonf as I'm fast enough for 60 at least that's ok and I know if it's 50 cause it's usually signed 50 .I've reduced videos as I said overall ye it's all there just little thing's you two have saved me because and I'm on right track finally bay reverse it's passable but teacher said try to be straight and to get level with right, turn corners I'm either to far or forward but your helping with carriageway ones .
I passed 3 days ago and these videos were a massive help :)
Well done! 🚙😃

Please create a video on when to and when not to stop in central reservation of dual carriageway when turning right from the minor road
Thanks for the idea 👍🏼
Thank you for your excellent videos. I’m a middle-aged learner - I passed my test yesterday on the fifth attempt with five minors. I will continue watching and learning from you!
Well done for passing - we hope you enjoy your new licence!
Thank you! Maybe as an idea for a future video you could give some tips for that first solo drive after passing.
We are actually writing the script for that video now!
On the first slip road exit, doing 20mph, so could have changed down to third gear.
Althoug i passed my test last month with only one minor fault i still enjoy watching your fantastic videos
thank you so so much
Thanks very much. There is always something more to learn with driving - good luck on the road!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool absolutely agree
Remember people I know the biggest fear is not stopping on time at those speeds but just remember it’s what brakes are for and they do work come off the accelerator and brake while changing gears it also slows the car down much faster with both this is known as engine braking which I’m pretty sure most of you know
What is the maximum speed limits in and of dual carriageway?
That would depend on what signs are present, and what type of vehicle you are driving! Check The Highway Code for full details. 👍🏼
In the last example, the driver went from 6th to 3rd. If u accidentally pushed it into 1st, would you feel any resistance in the gear stick? Do the car manufacturers put in any devices or alarms that would prevent you from making this mistake?
There is no mechanical lockout to prevent you selecting 1st gear at high speed, but in our experience we do feel a resistance as we push the gear stick towards 1st. To prevent this we let the gear stick settle in neutral, before selecting the next gear.
Advance Driving School I do recall now what u said in one of your other videos, not to rush a gear change. Ta!
What is the speed limit after end of dual carriageway sign , telling me please please please
It could be anything - depending on the type of vehicle you are driving, and what traffic signs you see. This video might help: Speed Limits: czcams.com/video/L0eY0FfQ1rs/video.html 👍🏼
What is the speed limit at the end of dual carriage way…?

What is the speed after the sign of end of dual carriageway?
This video should help: Speed Limits: czcams.com/video/L0eY0FfQ1rs/video.html 👍🏼
What car is used in the vid?
It's a 2018 Ford Fiesta ST.
How speed and of garchway ?
Pardon?
I want to know what limits after end dual carriageway
When a dual-carriageway ends, the speed limit stays the same - so 30 is still 30, 40 is 40, national speed limit stays national etc. this video might help: Speed Limits: czcams.com/video/L0eY0FfQ1rs/video.html 👍🏼
On dual carriageways, my instructor told me that mirror checks are sufficient for joining them and to only check blind spots when moving off and reversing. Is the blind spot check mandatory for joining dual carriageways and does it apply to motorways as well?
We definitely recommend checking your blind spot when joining a dual carriageway, as there might be something just over your shoulder that you need to react to!
How old do you have to be to own a am license
In we U.K. we can drive a car once we are 17 on a provisional license.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool okay thank you. Is it hard to become an driving instructor
We have to pass 3 exams, and then we are retested at least every 4 years. The pass rate is fairly low, but it's a really enjoyable job so well worth it.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thank you
Can you keep Automatic driving lesson please
I’m sorry, we don’t understand.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool I think he meant can you do Automatic driving lesson videos.
