Yeah if you really break it down and think about it, just having no medical services available for 12 hours would lead to countless deaths. Millions maybe? How many people a minute in the country suffer heart attacks or have a medical emergency that without urgent treatment they are toast.
Definitely gotta check out the sequel, Purge Anarchy. Frank Grillo is a savage in it..

I actually might have enjoyed the show more than the movies. I just really liked the concept stretched out over a season of episodes.
They cant use RPG’s, Grenade Launchers, Bazooka’s, Grenades, or anything that shoots explosive projectiles. Anything above Class Level 4 is restricted. It was said during the Public Announcement.
Now that you've started this journey I'll let you know right now.... the craziness has just begun.

Agree anarchy is the best one and their lead actor is my favorite as well.
For this movie the only thing annoy me was the kids specifically the son who let a stranger into the house and danger his entire family and got his own father killed.
Ethan hawk character was my only favorite character in this movie

I randomly went and saw this on opening night. I was at a bar next to my local movie theatre and bumped into a old friend who said they had an extra ticket. So I went, not knowing anything about the movie. And the crowd was so into it and cheering and yelling. Like the old school Marvel movies haha One of my favorite movie theatre experiences ever.
Imagine during the purge you try and kill your coworker and fail. Then you gotta show up to work the next morning and see them everyday for the rest of the year 😂😂😂😂
I don't know if they still have it or not but for a few years at both Universal Studios Florida and California for Halloween Horror Nights they had The Purge theming in one part of the parks and they also had scare actors dressed up as Purge participants

I forgot Lena Heady aka CERCEI LANNISTER was in this movie. It's crazy when I go back and realize the movies and shows she's been in before Game Of Thrones.
There are five Purge movies.
The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy, The Purge: Election Year, The First Purge, and then The Forever Purge.
One of the most creative ideas ever conceived for film to become a phenomenon and simply reflect a different kind of America.
This suspense drama-thriller with social commentary is so out of the box.
It's psychology, action and horror truly compliment it.
Committing whatever crime possible or just directly taking out your frustration on select people you hate in 12 hours is scary stuff.
4 of the 5 films took place in the 2020s.
But i had forgot the first one took place in 2022.
Hooked in since the first film, it had me thinking about how much further could the story go in potential sequels.
Also it had me pondering about the state of our nation and it's people in power.
Not too many would agree with this purge, me being one of those people.

I think the premise is interesting but the movies arent handled in a very intelligent way. I wish they would focus on the effect of this, the day after as well, and just have characters making more understandable or believable decisions... but as they dont it ends up being a bit mindless especially the later ones
I love The Purge franchise dude. I I hope you do as well. I feel like this could be a reality someday it's really scary, however the messages in in the film are very important and you really get the grand scope of what The Purge is really about through the sequels

I think the message changes somewhat. Like the movie genuinely seems to believe the purge would solve crime and war but future sequels seem to instead hate the purge

I say Charlie was a blame for the father death and if he did not let the stranger in the rich guys didn't have to come to their house also the neighbors couldn't get in the house so if the rich guys never came to the house then the neighbors would not get in and Ethan hawk character would easily destroy them
Lmao Primate was so stressed out in the first 6 min. I've only seen the first 3 of these. 2 is my favorite because there's a lot more goin on and it focuses on multiple people. 3 is ok but has some solid worldbuilding.

Suggestion: Since you mentioned doing a horror movie in the middle of this summer, may I suggest Midsommar. Off-putting. Weird. Interesting concept. Well made.
Thoughts: I've always wondered about the What If aspect of this movie. We all want to be safe, secure, and do well.
So, what would I do if this was an option and it's shown to actually Work?
Low/No crime. Great paying jobs. Wealthy country and citizens. It's paradise except...
Would you choose this option, especially since you Don't have to be involved?
What about the option of leaving The Country for a couple days every year?
Or even vacation for a couple weeks/months every year and you don't have to even See the aftermath? By the time you and your family return, yeah you may have a few funerals to go to; but you have a nearly perfect life for the next year.
And remember, it's an option.
Everyone can Choose Not to participate. And if they Choose to do so, would you want to know?
Or what if someone who did true harm to someone you dearly loved got away with it and was let go? And there's this perfectly legal means to get your justice?
What about then?
It makes me think of long ancient civilizations that had yearly sacrifices to appease their gods so they might be favored with the survival of the tribe and have success in all ways a tribe would need?
Is it so different to do that now?
What if the violence wasn't in the mayhem and catharsis of revenge and bloodlust, but "sacrificing" death row inmates every year instead?
All the murderers, pdfs, wine harvesters (you know what I mean), serial killers, all the highest level felons?
Would it be worth it then to trade the lives of those who have taken life and innocence and exchange it into safety, peace, and prosperity for the Rest of society?

You should react to the movie Constantine city of demons. It is a DC animated universe movie and it has one of the hardest quotes I've heard in a movie.

Just to play devil's advocate, I feel like you might have gotten caught up in movie logic when it came to the homeless guy Charlie let in. From his perspective, he is being hunted to death for just existing in a lower class. He did not expect to be saved, but got lucky when Charlie let him in. He never intended to hurt anyone and was just trying to stay alive. I know I'm personally sympathetic to wanting to save a life but from his perspective, he did deserve to live. It wasn't his fault he was being hunted. Hope you continue the series. I really enjoy it and your reactions

Good concept. Terrible execution. There was so much hype around it before it came out and I remember being so disappointed leaving the theater
Okay I just googled it cuz I couldn't remember how many there were this one came out in 2013 then The Purge anarchy came out the following year then in 2016 which was an election year came out the purge election year then in 2018 was the first Purge then in 2021 was the forever Purge and I also hear there was a TV show that only lasted two seasons that came somewhere in the middle I'm going to Google the TV show right now to check that apparently it ran from September 4th of 2018 to December 17th of the following year apparently it was a 1-hour series on USA Network so it wasn't a full hour cuz it had commercials but the violence was probably cut back quite a bit cuz it was on USA Network but then again this is a basic cable channel like AMC and you know what they get away with on The Walking Dead
My plan also would be to get in a plane with my family and just sit there for the whole 24 hours. If I could afford a private one.
Or just leave country for the day if you live close enough to the border since it's only America doing the purge.
